  1. How Canadians really feel ....
  2. I didn't say that; I merely pointed out that not everything put out by convoy supporters is necessarily true.
  3. That would be your clue.
  4. Misinformation about the truck convoy. https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-coronavirus-canada-idUSL1N2U72IN?fbclid=IwAR0A9SX0uCvCNUPoctbI26twqNEhVAuDbrmbdXMKqazMzZ3r9FV1JCF5RTE “I don't think anyone really grasps how big this is,” said one caption on Facebook (here). “From every corner of the country. Rolling into Ottawa and staying put until action is taken.” Others captioned the photo “freedom convoy” (here , here , here and here).E However, the picture has nothing to do with the protest convoy. Reuters traced it back to July 2019, where it was shared online in relation to a truck show in Alberta (here). And where did they get this photo? In a social media message to Reuters, the Blackjacks Roadhouse & Games Room said: “We can confirm that we own the photo used in both the links you provided. “This photo was taken at Blackjacks Roadhouse & Games Room in Nisku, Alberta on July 6th, 2019 during the Pro-Trucker Magazine Big Rig Show & Shine.” The spokesperson added that the photo had been used in the social media posts about the convoy without permission.
  5. Nonetheless, anti-whatever are in the news and on YouTube demonstrating their willingness to engage in violence. My personal experience shows along with conversations with people who serve the public shows the same thing. But somehow the "anti" people claim they're about to be attacked - I'd call that projection. But, I'll help you out - people who attack others for stupid reasons are the fringe of any group. Most anti-mask/vax either don't go to those places or they comply to save hassle. It's too bad some small minority pick on people who are just trying to do their jobs.
  6. I don't say they're lying, I say anecdotes are not data. Which is true of my anecdotes, as well, and which you or DoP could counter by reminding me that anecdotes are not data, if either of you had any sense.
  7. Yup, when we're in we ask, "how's your day been?" Or, 'any ,one have problems with the new rules?" Sometimes they get weepy talking about the way these a-holes behave. But at least we can tell them that we appreciate them and what they do, and make up for the anti-everything jerks - who are well represented on this forum.
  8. Yup, twice. And of course, all the servers and clerks in the restaurants and stores we've asked must be lying if we didn't see it ourselves. Certainly not as amazing as the claims on here that unvaxed are about to be torn apart by angry mobs. If anything, angry mobs of unvaxed and anti-mask have already demonstrated their willingness to engage in violence when asked to follow the rules.
  9. From DoP? That's asking a lot.
  10. Only violence I've heard of or seen has come from the anti-mask, anti-vax types. Do you have any idea how many service people have been harassed, been spit on, had things thrown at them? Next time you go into a store or restaurant, ask them. We ask, and virtually all of them have experienced harassment from some entitled snowflakes.
  11. You guys were already united, it wasn't the truckers. This'll pass, too. It's not Trudeau or O'Toole sowing hate, it's people who go about calling those who disagree sheeple, mindless followers, communists, facsists, covidiots, irresponsible, selfish. Or calling people "morally bankrupt". That sows hate. Being in a crowd of even a couple thousand can seem like a lot. Sowing hate.
  12. Yup, saw that on MSM. There are thousands of truckers who disagree with the freedom convoy. Bet you don't see that on the fringe sites you follow.
  13. Enough to know they're happening all over the world. I see coverage of local ones the most. How do you know what MSM covers or doesn't cover if you don't watch it?
  14. Yabbut, they're all old people with pre-existing conditions. /s
  15. There was no national shutdown; each Province determines their own path regarding shutdowns, restrictions, mask wearing and reduction or elimination of all the above.
  16. The level of Qanon inspired 'facts" are pretty astounding on this forum. There's not much point in presenting any other facts since they're rejected with the same enthusiasm devout Christians reject any suggestion that God did not create everything.
  17. So it's only sedition if it succeeds?
  18. Well, we can disagree on whether his policy was spot on. I'm not a fan of Biden, either. I was definitely hoping for more, but he's really just more of the same. Like Trudeau.
  19. 1. Well, if you want to deny the the actual cost of the riot in human lives, you can say that. 2. I bet if she'd been breaking into a place of business somewhere and got shot, you'd fully support that. 3. All the others might have lived had they not been at the riot; the kind of exertion/excitement/stress of the riot could certainly have brought on a heart attack or stroke. And if someone is in medical distress, who among rioters will even notice? 4. So is the medical examiner, but they do believe that his death was the result of an attack by rioters.
  20. You are correct, I do not appreciate Trump. I didn't like his character on The Apprentice but it wasn't till I saw him as President that I realized The Apprentice was him, not a character created to get views. To me, most of his policies seemed driven by pique and expediency than any real plan or goal. . But I don't mind finding out what other people saw as good policy, especially now that he's gone. Out of pure curiosity, did he do anything you disagreed with?
  21. Actually I agree with that as a goal.
  22. The wall never got completed and would have been useless anyway, cause Planes and Boats. People find ways. And wasn't the gas line completed last September? Of course that was after Trump left office, but in any case it would have been Germany or Russia cancelling it, not Trump. There was something he did that I thought was a good idea but darned if I can remember what it was.
  23. Can you give me some examples of what you consider strong decisions he's made? Were they decisions that were actually good for the US or the citizens, or more directed toward appeasing/appealing to his base?
  24. I've always thought of Trump as having bluster and bravado rather than strength. Despite his accomplishments, he comes across to me as weak.
  25. I didn't ever get sick till I got H1N1 in 2009. I was really sick, in bed for 4 days and coughed for months after. That's when I decided to get flu vaccine, never want to be that sick again. Haven't been seriously ill since other than colds. You could have had flu, it's the right time frame. Could've been Omicron too. Personally, I'd want to know - could breathe a little easier in public.
