And here's is more back up! http://therealnews.com/t2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=74&jumival=11730#.U1CQKBE-do4.facebook Looks like the Russians are going to rip this one way open soon! Wonder what the US is going to do? I'm thinking the US is trying to back track, realizing there plan isn't working. Just hope that Steven "W.P." Harper doesn't do something we're all going to regret here in Canada! WWWTT

Here's another explanation on the US interest in all of this. http://mycatbirdseat.com/2014/04/the-obama-game-is-putin-being-lured-into-a-trap/ looks like this is all about using the US dollar. WWWTT

I do agree that the US is protecting Taiwan. The US is also protecting the Mainland from Taiwan! WWWTT

I don't understand why you didn't read the link you provided, since it clearly states that Taiwan is part of China and the US recognizes the one country, two systems concept of the Chinese! Taken from your link: The Three-Noes Policy (Chinese: 三不政策) is a policy in the 1980s maintained by President Chiang Ching-kuo of the Republic of China, commonly known as "Taiwan", in response to the People’s Republic of China's attempts to have direct contact with the ROC (see Three Links). When the United States broke diplomatic ties with the ROC in 1979, the PRC believed that it had complete leverage in convincing the ROC government to talk. President Chiang Ching-kuo refused, reiterating that there were to be “no contact, no compromise, and no negotiation” (不接觸不談判不妥協) with the Chinese Communists. The hijacking of a China Airlines cargo plane on May 3, 1986 shattered the "Three Noes" policy. The pilot Wang Shi-chuen subdued the two other members of the flight crew and commandeered the plane to Guangzhou, forcing the ROC government to publicly send unofficial envoys to negotiate in Hong Kong with PRC officials over the return of the plane and the flight crew. The pilot, credited by the PRC for reestablishing contact between mainland China and Taiwan, received a hero’s welcome in mainland China and became a senior PRC aviation official as well as serving as a so-called "Taiwanese delegate" to PRC government institutions. During this time, many mainland China-born ROC armed forces veterans pressed President Chiang Ching-kuo to allow family reunions between the mainland Chinese who settled in Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War and their relatives in mainland China. President Chiang relented in 1987, authorizing the ROC Red Cross to issue permits allowing people from Taiwan to travel to Chinese Mainland only for family reunions. This started the regular civilian and unofficial exchanges between the PRC and the ROC that continues to progress to this day. Sorry my friend, but the relation of Taiwan/China is no different than East/West Germany. They will reunite. WWWTT

LOL! Are you for real? Oh ok then, Mulcair is going to start praising Justin because he's not concerned about him! You want to explain how that one works buddy???? And Justin is going to start patting Harper on the back and say the PM is doing a good job because he's not worried? Is this a real serious debate tactic your using? Because if it is, that's something freekin spun?!?!?!? WWWTT

Except the US government does not recognize the independent Taiwan, only recognizes Beijing as being the capital of China and that Taiwan is part of China. So tell me TimG, what is it that you don't understand about the US government's position? Do you know better about how to recognize a country than the US government? As far as Hong Kong goes, it doesn't really matter now because the previous landlord's lease expired and their history! I was in Macau last month and the mainland is taking over with open arms from the people in Macau welcoming their gambling RMB's! WWWTT

Toronto Municipal Election Thread 2014
WWWTT replied to Black Dog's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Looks like Ford can't do anything right anymore! Now the Toronto fire department released a scathing skin ripping lashing onto Ford for using a fire truck decked out for his re-election bid! Good for them, Ford deserves to be criticized for exactly what he is! An incompetent mayor! I hope it's not to early to congratulate you on your retirement this fall! http://m.citynews.ca/2014/04/17/fire-fighters-association-furious-over-fords-use-of-fire-truck-as-political-prop/ WWWTT -
So China would go through a reduction in population, while becoming the economic engine of the world??? Don't get me wrong, India is way up there too! But that is just one prediction. WWWTT

Time to set the record straight here in it's own rightful thread! Lots of posters here just don't really get it. First, lets start with a history lesson. http://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LEVi7ysVFT3FsAWG0XFwx.;_ylu=X3oDMTByMG04Z2o2BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw--/RV=2/RE=1397891699/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fen.wikipedia.org%2fwiki%2fHistory_of_Taiwan/RK=0/RS=qbMyVQKgTaS.MqxPUy4MEW96Fy4- And lets move on straight to the giant nail in the coffin of those who believe there are two separate Chinese countries shall we: The United States and Taiwan enjoy a robust unofficial relationship. The 1979 U.S.-P.R.C. Joint Communique switched diplomatic recognition from Taipei to Beijing. In the Joint Communique, the United States recognized the Government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, acknowledging the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China Comment was taken from this link. http://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LEViH2slFTviIAqsYXFwx.;_ylu=X3oDMTBya3R2ZmV1BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNARjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw--/RV=2/RE=1397891958/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.state.gov%2fr%2fpa%2fei%2fbgn%2f35855.htm/RK=0/RS=x30MHQQ0M8.fgAA_i5fgyYoKC7g- I don't understand the argument that some people here have??? And I believe that this is because some do not understand the culture. Macau and Hong Kong for many centuries were politically separated, but eventually re united because the people in those regions always believed they were Chinese first! Taiwan will eventually politically rejoin with the rest of their family. WWWTT

I didn't realize this until I started researching the topic! I'm appalled this is true! As far as I'm concerned, the nobel peace award doesn't mean the same thing anymore. WWWTT

The funny thing your talking about is that the European Union is becoming an country in itself as we move further into the future. Are the toilets in India made in the EU? I had to throw that in there because it sounds like I'm going to have to start a thread about China/Taiwan . WWWTT

What improvements would you like to see in this discussion forum?
WWWTT replied to Greg's topic in Support and Questions
Hi Betsy. There is a religion subject heading here, but I don't think there is adequate number of interested members or proper moderation for the depth of subject you wish to discuss to fully appreciate/engage your interests. If you were suspended from what I have read, I agree that it was not warranted. But If these were my interests/subjects, I would find another forum to explore more attractive dialogue. What's an insult and what's criticism? Criticism is allowed! I would even say that without it, this site is pretty much dead! Now I call several politicians "war pigs" Also have called other posters here "grammar nazis" I believe some people here don't know the difference between insulting a person you don't know and criticizing their approach/actions/style/policy. Reasonable request! I think that the parties involved are bordering on a compulsive behaviour thing now. But on the other hand, they owe a lot to the numerous questions being asked and have a key interest in these areas! I'm sure there are search procedures getting better from all of this, and that is good! WWWTT

Ok then. I clicked on the link to the TS article about this topic. I had to read it a couple of times to figure it out to see what this person was getting at. I don't think this is really going to go anywhere. I could be wrong. Maybe the voters next election will spend an hour to read this article over several times to figure it out, then get all steamed up! But I doubt it. WWWTT

Out of line? Didn't know we were in the military? But anyways, bush cheney did make a good comment, he is a poster here and has just as much right to comment as you do! It appeared he went through some work to research the hydraulic fluid levels that may be carried by such a craft. If your comment was directed at BC, it was a poor debating tactic! As far as I'm concerned, I would consider that enough to be temp. suspended for. WWWTT You went on about trolling for some reason because fro his comments, he was just contributing

Nobody was doing what you are talking about in the two top comments here. If you plead intoxication, maybe the moderators won't suspend you. Much like Rob Ford saying he was too drunk to remember smoking crack! Just trying to help you out there. WWWTT

I think they have rules there to that they are starting to enforce. If you put Canada's population in one city (Shanghai), you're going to get air quality issues. Same was the issue here to not to long ago and is still the case. Guess you forgot about these cases here? http://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LEVipTeFFTvAYAvjYXFwx.;_ylu=X3oDMTBya3R2ZmV1BHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNARjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw--/RV=2/RE=1397876947/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2fwww.lenntech.com%2fenvironmental-disasters.htm/RK=0/RS=S976hVHSIoyAqsQb18KZ2Tmh7o8- But now China is an industrialized country, how dare they have problems like any other industrialized nation!!! Sounds like you're holding the Chinese to a higher standard than western nations WWWTT

Yes I believe this. On my last trip there I got food poisoning! WWWTT

Little history lesson here for you kimmy, after the surrender of Japan, Mao and the fascists had a civil war in China and the communists won, while the fascists retreated to Taiwan under US protection. Mao considered invading early on, but Korean conflict brought an end to that. It has never really been considered worth invading because the people would be the ones that suffer the most. Same reason why HGK and Macao never were, but eventually re united! The people in Taiwan are Chinese, speak Mandarin dialect (but still use traditional form of writing) and consider themselves Chinese. It's funny how you and TimG believe that the two are not the same, but the Taiwanese and Chinese see themselves the same! As far as your second comment goes, want to explain how it's different in the west? WWWTT

I'll need to see a link citation! I've been there 5 times and spent several months there. True, warmer climate countries that are still developing I believe are not as hygienic. But it is improving! WWWTT
