Oh for crying out load! That's a freekin global warming thing! I fell for that one hook line and sinker! Next time I search first, comment later!

I think it's earth hour soon too. It's basically the alarmist version of thanksgiving.

LOL! Good one Shady, never thought of that! I thought the Earth hour thing happened already? Or what that Earth day?

  2. Not really true. That missing flight brings in a lot of ratings because most people traveled by plane at some point in time in their life or will be doing so again. So lots of people can relate to it. Also, CNN can cover the story in so many different ways, dressing it up and culturing the story to sell more viewers. Not so easy to do with the Ukraine story, where a long time enemy of the US is winning at almost every turn. Watching your enemy win the game doesn't bring in ratings. There isn't a lipstick in the world that the media can dress up the Ukraine story with to snuggle up with their viewers! Better to just focus on what sells and drop the bad news! WWWTT
  3. Never said there was one yet either. Why? Who said there was a lawsuit? And what court was the lawsuit filed at? Better yet what country, by whom, and who are the plaintiff's and who are the defendant's? Also what's obvious to you, is just that, to you. And yes the minimum payout is there in the link. If you want to discuss that, then go ahead. If you don't mind, I'm not really interested in the minimum payout. WWWTT
  4. Ok now, back to the lawsuit brewing over this lost plane. https://news.yahoo.com/filed-plane-lawsuits-might-not-heard-us-083559455--finance.html From the link above, we can clearly see that this could end up over 1 billion mark. Not sure what will materialize. One big lawsuit, or numerous individuals, or one big payout verses numerous smaller payouts. I'm suspecting that the airline wants this hush hush soon, so I'm guessing the threat of lawsuits will be followed by out of court payout. WWWTT
  5. Yes I know that. It just seems that the media attention isn't so strong on Jim's death. But is at other times, why I don't know? WWWTT
  6. I guess if there was anything concrete coming from the search, this story wouldn't be worth posting. Oh well. Lets see what tomorrow brings. WWWTT
  7. Ok NDP MP for Toronto Danforth has weighed in on this and here's his opinion on it. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2014/04/15/senate_gives_government_cover_to_pass_antidemocratic_bill_tim_harper.html Now Craig is an constitutional lawyer, I have had a couple good debates with him and I respect his opinion. But I have disagreed with him in the past! Not sure if he's playing politics here, because he's on this big mission to venture off and slay the big bad senate. Take it for what it is. WWWTT
  8. Wouldn't think that when a cop gets killed! Or how about when the first few dozen troops that died in Afghanistan coming home? All kinds of media coverage and politicians making big talk. This pissed me off because I work in the construction field, and I have known a couple people who have died/seriously injured. And I don't here squat nothing about the many more people who have died actually building this country doing an important job! WWWTT
  9. Maybe I was being sarcastic or something like that for the first comment here. I'm fully aware of the US threat to Syria after the alleged gas chemical weapons incident. But the NATO countries back tracked real fast on that one hey. I personally don't think NATO cares about Russia and the Ukraine. Other than any opportunity that western leaders may use to score political points back at home. After all, the Ukraine is bankrupt! I don't think people are really going to flock to a bankrupt nation with nothing to offer. WWWTT
  10. Thanks Bryan, I appreciate the effort! I can't, for the life of me, think of another example of where an sitting MP or MPP had an outsider come in like this????? It's driving me freekin nuts! I want to say Sheila Copps, but I think that's something different or maybe just too long ago to remember clearly? WWWTT
  11. Maybe, maybe not? I try to be tactful about it and make sure that there is a little something in my comment that is obvious about the thread. But I'm sure I'm guilty of drift too. A little drift is ok I guess. If you go back and look at the comments, it's just not about drifting/petty bickering. There was also a nasty tone starting to snowball. It was escalating further to no freekin end?!? CA, in my opinion had to use the limited tools at his disposal to referee and called a time out. Fortunately he re instated the thread quickly. But that wasn't always the case in the past. Perhaps a pause for several hours will work? We'll see I guess. I still like the idea of temporarily pushing out some posters from a thread till they get the idea. WWWTT
  12. No, what happened was CA closed the thread for a short period because he probably felt that the dialogue was going to get nastier. I wasn't getting carried away and kept my eye on the ball! Don't like my style of debate? Oh well, not my problem. But I still think that waldo and I have a good suggestion that should be considered. WWWTT
  13. Ok, I threw out the challenge earlier but I'll ask everyone this time. Does anyone know of another riding association that pulled the rug out from under a sitting MP or MPP? And if not in Canada, perhaps in another parliament? This Rob Anders guy really had it coming as far as I'm concerned. And to me, it shows a lot of weakness on the part of the conservatives! WWWTT
  14. Thanks for previously suggesting the idea. Hopefully the moderation can put the idea into practice and use it in their moderation of this site. WWWTT
  15. Problem with that approach is that you penalize those who are not abusing the thread! I suspect that the moderators can't stop members from contributing to specific threads. Either an all out suspension. Or locking the thread. If members are becoming abusive/carried away/making inappropriate comments/wildly drifting in a specific thread, I believe it would be appropriate to suspend those individuals from contributing to it for 24 hrs. Apparently this site will be going through an upgrade soon, and I believe this idea has merit and should be considered as a sound option! WWWTT
  16. From watching pieces here and there of the funeral, noticed not many NDP/liberal MP's in the audience. Also learned he had triplets! Wonder if any of his son's are going to pull a Justin and pick up a political career after the death of their father? WWWTT
  17. Ok then, Charles Anthony decided to lock out another thread! The Rob Anders one. He does this when the posters start drifting way off topic and insulting each other. What gets me about this tactic, is that to me, I feel he is not considering the position of the other posters who aren't involved in the pettiness. I was looking forward to further debating as to what will happen/has happened with Anders and his past/future in politics! True, I didn't like it when the thread started shifting about other stuff unrelated to the nomination vote in Calgary, but it wasn't my fault! I don't know who to be angry at, CA for locking it or the posters who degraded the debate/discussion? This has happened before with other good threads and I feel there's got to be a better way to deal with this! Perhaps temporarily suspending delinquent posters from the thread in question for 24 hours till they cool off? Let them contribute to other stuff in the meantime. WWWTT
  18. Your drifting like crazy here man. Haven't seen the US do anything yet with the Ukraine. Israel will do whatever it wants with it's neighbours. I suspect the Israeli's give a rat's ass about who's in power, as long as it serves their interest. In fact, when their enemies are fighting amongst themselves in a civil war, all the better! WWWTT
  19. Conspiracy or not, I still can't recall the threatened air strikes happening on Syria, can you? As far as Russia goes, don't see anything yet as far as helping the Ukraines out more concrete than some words and miniscule sanctions. Like I said before, I'm sure Putin is having sleepless nights, pacing back and forth worrying about the G8 status. WWWTT
  20. When I have time I can do a search. Iran 1953, and recently Syria. But perhaps the methods vary. Another one is Afghanistan during the 80's. WWWTT
  21. Are you suggesting, the data collected now could be used in future searches? WWWTT
  22. Ya except you never bring it back to Rob Anders do you? You're playing Bryan's debating game here. How you debate is your business, but don't think your going to influence my style. WWWTT
  23. That was the impression that I got from your comment. This search is probably more of just an exercise at this point. For training and research. The three main countries involved now Malaysia, China and Australia (probably more) want to maintain a strong presence in the area and this search works into that. I agree with GH, don't expect anything solid to materialize. WWWTT
  24. Your debating with Bryan about the NDP in the Rob Anders thread. Don't let Bryan control the direction this thread goes in would be my advise. Not just that, Rob Anders is the gift that keeps giving, he supplies lots of ammo that can be used against himself. WWWTT
  25. No I'm not asking you to delete anything. Just noting how you tried to turn this Anders thread into a communist thread. And the irony of Anders Mandela/communist/terrorist comments that lead to his lynching! I haven't heard of anything like this before! I tried doing a search but all that came up of interest was this: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mps-face-nomination-battles-redrawn-ridings-in-lead-up-to-2015-1.2497719 That's how much Anders was hated in his own riding that apparently he was representing! He got booted! If you can think of any examples where a long time sitting MP or even an MPP never got the nomination from their riding association, please provide the info!!! Now as far as getting the nomination from another riding??? Well, Anders is going to have to go up against another sitting conservative MP isn't he, if he wants a safe conservative riding. There is also the possibility of a retiring conservative MP and one of the 30 new ridings that are getting carved out. 6 of which are in conservative fort Alberta. Or Linda Duncan's Edmonton riding. But any of these scenarios would involve parachuting him into another riding association. Can he convince enough members at another nomination meeting to vote for him? How would the locals feels? And the local candidate(s)? I guess it's possible? After all, Anders can pull in the donation $$$$$! And in politics, if you can pull in the $$$, your 99% in! This travelling road side freak show Anders story isn't over, I'll give you that one easy! WWWTT
