  1. Reading back on her comments, I think she was drinking or something. She is usually better than that in my opinion. WWWTT
  2. Little shovel, problem solved! Taiwan is China! The people from Taiwan are Chinese, just two political differences. Glad you noticed. You wouldn't go to China because of some grungy pictures? Oh well, your loss, not Chinas! WWWTT
  3. And this is why the NDP is trying to paint Justin as "Harper light"! It will be interesting to see the direction the attack adds take us. Or just all the adds from every party. But I'm willing to bet there is going to be attack adds from all parties. WWWTT
  4. This is a good "rant"! Full of good criticism and no personal insults! I like a good rant and feel that it's actually part of democracy to write and publish a good solid no bars holdem scorching rant! I'm currently indifferent on the subject, but if you want people to read and take notice, try writing a good rant like betsy here and see what happens!!! Hats off to you betsy! WWWTT
  5. Obama gets it, Kissinger does, but not Ghandi?????? Here's a quote from Wiki: Criticism of individual conferments[edit]Main article: Nobel Prize controversies Barack Obama with Thorbjørn Jagland at the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, and Yasser Arafat receiving the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize following the Oslo Accords The awards given to Lê Ðức Thọ and Henry Kissinger prompted two dissenting Committee members to resign.[19] Thọ refused to accept the prize, on the grounds that peace had not actually been achieved in Vietnam. The awards given to Mikhail Gorbachev,[20]Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, Menachem Begin and Yasser Arafat,[21][22]Lê Ðức Thọ, Henry Kissinger,[23]Jimmy Carter,[24]Al Gore,[25]Liu Xiaobo,[26][27][28]Barack Obama,[29][30][31] and the European Union[32] have all been the subject of controversy. Notable omissions[edit]Foreign Policy has listed Mahatma Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, U Thant, Václav Havel, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Sari Nusseibeh, and Corazon Aquino as people who "never won the prize, but should have".[33][34] Other notable omissions that have drawn criticism include Pope John Paul II,[35][dead link]Hélder Câmara,[36] and Dorothy Day.[37] (Both Eleanor Roosevelt and Dorothy Day were recipients of the Gandhi Peace Award.) It was widely reported that Irena Sendler had been nominated for the 2007 prize, which was jointly awarded to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Al Gore.[38][39] The omission of Mahatma Gandhi has been particularly widely discussed, including in public statements by various members of the Nobel Committee.[40][41] The Committee has confirmed that Gandhi was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947, and, finally, a few days before his death in January 1948.[42] The omission has been publicly regretted by later members of the Nobel Committee.[40] Geir Lundestad, Secretary of Norwegian Nobel Committee in 2006 said, "The greatest omission in our 106-year history is undoubtedly that Mahatma Gandhi never received the Nobel Peace prize. Gandhi could do without the Nobel Peace prize, whether Nobel committee can do without Gandhi is the question".[43] In 1948, following Gandhi's death, the Nobel Committee declined to award a prize on the ground that "there was no suitable living candidate" that year. Later, when the Dalai Lama was awarded the Peace Prize in 1989, the chairman of the committee said that this was "in part a tribute to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi."[44] WWWTT
  6. If we weren't then we should have offered! I doubt that Malaysia would refuse an offer to help from Canada. I had this discussion some pages earlier and apparently our navy is hurting so we are not in any position to help. I'm disappointed. This is an issue we shouldn't depend on other countries to bale us out on. WWWTT
  7. And what about the Chinese toilets??? Aren't you going to comment on the toilets? I went through a lot of work to post those toilets! How about you post something about a toilet from India? WWWTT
  8. search and rescue is a good way to focus our military peacefully. We could regain a strong international name. Canada really dropped the ball over this Malaysia flight and I blame Harper! Harper should have got involved right from the start, but instead he rather do press interviews about sending fighter jets to beef up NATO in eastern Europe! As far as I'm concerned Harper=War pig! WWWTT
  9. Looks like the Rob Ford rally wasn't that strong. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152395443268945&set=p.10152395443268945&type=1 I wonder who's going to knock on doors this guy? I wonder if Ford is going to do any of that traditional grass roots stuff actually since the previous question I asked seems like impossible to answer. I know Olivia will have the strongest team out there every night when the time comes! WWWTT
  10. Yes it is! They will eventually re unite, just like HGK and Macau. Keep in mind that Macau was a Portuguese colony for literally centuries!!! They still reunited. No bloodshed either. Here's a picture of a Chinese toilet! http://ca.images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A0LEVvGgjFBT6WYAapQXFwx.;_ylu=X3oDMTBsa3ZzMnBvBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkAw--?_adv_prop=image&fr=yhs-ironsource-fullyhosted_003&sz=all&va=chinese+toilet&hspart=ironsource&hsimp=yhs-fullyhosted_003 WWWTT
  11. I was very disappointed about this fact! We should of at least had one ship with a helicopter there!!! There were two Canadians on board that plane, and we have a responsibility to help Canadians wherever they are in the world! Not to mention the number of Canadians that need to use long haul air flight transportation and the geography of our country. As well, search and rescue is very underrated and needs to be beefed up! Starting right here at home! Shame on Canada for not having a more active participating role in the search! I know not many people here care about this, but I believe that others here have lost sight of what is important to this country and this is a good place to start redefining Canada! WWWTT
  12. Actually China has closer to 140 million more people. I forgot to add Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Those regions do not have restrictions on family size and have nice toilets! WWWTT
  13. Not unusual. CNN has a big audience in Canada, they know what side the toast is buttered on! Having some Canadian content and openness to their northern neighbour is welcomed. There was a republican supporter on CNN about 10 years ago (wore a bow tie all the time) who made some harsh comments about Canada, even calling the country a banana republic or something like that. He ended up not getting his contract renewed soon after that! But Canada is not even involved in the search??? WWWTT
  14. Made an unusual status update today. Lately, I've been looking for something interesting to use on my update, but nothing out there that really garbs me worth my time. Shady jumped in with some good advise! I consider Shady to be the King of status updates around this forum! His advise was to find something that you're passionate about. Now I was already on to that, but he came right out and nailed it! A couple of other posters took advantage of my unusual status update to make some fun at my expense! And it was great fun! I enjoy the update feature and think that this feature is underrated and not used by enough posters! Any thoughts about expanding/modifying the feature to increase the attractiveness? WWWTT
  15. All they have left is another 110 million people to go. But China is changing it's one child policy, so we'll see how soon they pass them. China uses toilets by the way. WWWTT
  16. I don't know? Never been there, I thought that maybe it was a natural Hindu belief or something like that. WWWTT
  17. If you live in an rural area, I can see relieving yourself outdoors being a more environmentally sound way of insuring you are replacing the nitrogen and other nutrients back to the land! But in an urban setting!!!! WWWTT
  18. Now here's the opposite. More detail and specific reasoning. Maybe not the most, but at least something to support an opinion. The opinions from these two posters can still be argued with, and I'm not saying if I do or not agree, but I can at least understand/respect their position. WWWTT
  19. Here's a couple examples with no support. No support, very little to stand on other than opinion. No surprise they were off. Now, I'm not saying that you can predict the future, but c'mon! What's the opinion being based on? WWWTT
  20. Bumping the old threads is a great read at who was way off and who had their eye on the ball! The drone strike king doesn't deserve the prize! WWWTT
  21. No it's actually from a NATO request, here's the link http://cbc.sh/SR4hMig Are you saying that Canada would do something without the permission of NATO? You got to be freekin joking?!?!?! We don't even have a vehicle of any kind to send to help in the search for that missing Malaysian flight! Got lots of stupid freekin bombs and weapons to kill people with though! Thanks Harper=War pig! WWWTT
  22. Here's a link I found in regards to the Jewish people in the Ukraine http://www.newrepublic.com/article/117415/relax-ukraine-not-ordering-its-jews-register Take it for what it is. WWWTT
  23. No I disagree with you. Sorry man. The way we perceive the events unfolding in the Ukraine crisis has a lot to do with the quality of info delivered by the media. Also the media has a strong influence in the direction of our debate here. Discussing the media's role in this debate is very relevant and does not qualify as thread drift in my opinion. Not what I have read so far. WWWTT
  24. Yes I kind of agree with you, but I wanted to add a little more to it. That's all. WWWTT
  25. Glad to see you're aware of how nomination meetings and AGM's go Argus. Can you think of any examples where an sitting MP or MPP didn't win the nomination from their riding association? For the life of me, I can't! There's got to be an example! WWWTT
