Are you kidding me? That's all you've got? Sorry, I couldn't resist... You see punked here's the thing you can't seem to get your head around, with every post you make on a thread like this you CONFIRM what Liberals like me and others are saying about the NDP... You'd rather try to put down Liberals than the Harper Regime because you think it may mean getting another meaningless seat from the Liberals even if it means electing Harper and Co. to another term... Very simple minded of you really... You haven't offered a thing that's pro NDP, like their policies or platform have you? All you do is try to "play games" with people that are waaaay smarter and much more experienced about politics than you can ever be... It's quite sad really, I'd actually feel sorry for you if you weren't bent on being totally obnoxious and completely stupid about it...

Ya know, funny thing is, I don't hear any fat ladies singing yet... Maybe it isn't over?

I see NDPers can't count either, 3 you say, 30 years ago you say, interesting... Here's a SAMPLE of what I see > - Liberals are fighting for a strong economy. A future Liberal government will take a balanced and credible fiscal approach to tackling the Conservatives’ record deficit and restoring Canada’s fiscal health including: ■Cancelling Harper’s additional corporate tax breaks and restoring rates to 2010 levels. Canada already has the second lowest corporate tax rates in the G7 and 25% lower than the U.S. Canadian families deserve a break, not the largest corporations; ■Making better choices instead of spending billions on stealth fighter jets and US-style mega prisons; ■Deficit reduction by committing to a deficit to GDP target of 1% within the first two years of a Liberal government and further decline every year thereafter until the budget is balanced; ■Fiscal prudence by restoring a reserve as a buffer to achieve targets; and, ■Spending restraint by finding targeted, sustainable savings in partnership with the public service and proposing new programs in the Liberal platform only if they can be financed without adding to the deficit. - That's only in ONE category, strange that you missed it... Oh, btw, I didn't know Canada wanted to buy Stealth Fighters 30 years ago, just as an example you understand...

You're the one that put it out there, not me, I simply AGREED with your statement... You wouldn't be having a problem facing facts like most NDPers now would you? You seem a little too upset, but don't worry, Layton knows what he's doing and I'm sure he'll find a way to save himself and you from having to "put up or shut up"...

Thanks... You beat me to it... http://www.liberal.ca/issues/ BTW Punked, you may also want to visit the "critics" web sites to get more detail on Liberal policies... They talk about them quite extensively there...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't: The Bush Legacy
GWiz replied to GWiz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
UN vote clears way for Libya air strikes - The UN Security Council Thursday cleared the way for air strikes to halt Moamer Kadhafi's offensive against embattled rebel forces in Libya, with the first bombing raids possible within hours. It approved a resolution permitting "all necessary measures" to impose a no-fly zone, protect civilian areas and impose a ceasefire on Kadhafi's military. - - Diplomats have indicated that air strikes from a coalition led by Britain, France and the United States could be imminent as Kadhafi's troops close in on the rebel stronghold of Benghazi. However, the resolution rules out sending foreign ground troops. The Libyan leader said earlier Thursday he would take the town and "chase the traitors." Addressing the Security Council, French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said the world had to act to support Libya, following peaceful revolts against authoritarian leaders across the Arab world. "The world is living one of its great revolutions that changes the course of history. In North Africa, the Persian Gulf, the Arab people are calling to breathe democracy," he said. "In Libya, alas, for a number of weeks the people's will has been shot down to its feet by Colonel Kadhafi." - About TIME! Let's all hope it's not too little too late... The next couple of days or less may tell the tale... At least by this, Libya, hopefully, won't be the total disaster it could have been... -
I have no idea how the NDP do their policies but I do know how Liberals do theirs... In the past, when I was a member, a number of the ones I initiated and more that I voted for made it as federal party policy... See the thing is the Liberals use a "bottom up" system stemming directly from the general membership during meetings at the riding level up through provincial and/or regional conventions up to the party's policy committee which implements them as Party Policy... The Leader of the Liberal Party actually has fairly limited input as to Party Policy... Seems to work OK as far as I'm concerned... Doesn't mean I liked ever policy that came out, I didn't, and don't, but in every case a majority of grass roots Liberals supported a policy that made it in... Not that any of that matters to you, but it may be of interest to some people here that didn't know...

Damned if you do, damned if you don't: The Bush Legacy
GWiz replied to GWiz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
All of which boils down to > Damned if you do, damned if you don't: The Bush Legacy > doesn't it? Personally I saw that Obama wasn't what people expected him to be the first TIME he caved to the Republicants... I'm amazed that Hillary put up with Obama as long as she did... Maybe she thought she could give Obama a backbone, at least in "foreign affairs"... After ALL ASPECTS of US "foreign affairs" got caught flatfooted in Tunesia and Egypt that "hope" went out the window... Now Libya has become the "tipping point" for US credibility on the "foreign front" and Hilliary has simply had enough... Still a few VERY TOUGH months ahead for that feisty lady... Makes one wonder if Biden will be the "running mate" come next election, it's not really his type of "scenario" either... -
Naaa, couldn't be, it's the centre of the universe don't you know... Not much of a "player" are you? OK, I'll bite... Who or what is a Gordon Gecko?

Sorry kid, you've totally lost me now... I sure you're making a good argument for me being the nice kid you are, but I have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about...

Harper's election to lose? He's trying hard...

Nice that you've come to recognize the greatness of my mind... You should therefore also know that the limited space of the largest Pyramid would never be adequate enough to contain it's power... Quite right which is what made the dramatic increase in "flu deaths" to cover-up that the US had been hit with a significant SARS outbreak relatively easy... Missed that by a country mile... Nothing "inferior" about this ALIEN being... You took my statement in the wrong direction... Ooops, no CBC down there? Sorry, let me intruduce you to the boy > - Along with Amanda Lang, O'Leary co-hosts The Lang and O'Leary Exchange on CBC News Network where he can often be heard proclaiming his personal philosophy - "greed is good!". He is a venture capitalist on the Canadian version of Dragons' Den, which airs on CBC Television and CBC News Network, and a "shark" on the United States' version of Dragons' Den airing on ABC, Shark Tank. - He's a "money worshipper" of the first order... I'm sure you'd hit it off having that in common... - O’Leary’s aggressive, barking style, epitomized in his “greed is good” shout, which is aired so much that it has become part of CBC’s defining on-air identity, has been indulged by the corporation for years. Probably because his pro-business braying acts as a dam to halt accusations that the CBC is some lefty organization devoted to propping up David Suzuki’s environmentalism. -

Committee hearings start today for contempt
GWiz replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not really, the opposition could have challenged it in many ways but chose not to... I wish they had done something other than making it an issue to thrive on... It's one of the things I totally disagree with on the Liberal side and always have... -
Should we shut down Canada's nuclear reactors?
GWiz replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So are you saying that those thousands and thousands of 5.0 and below earthquakes that are a constant in the Pacific rim, which includes Japan, PRECLUDE or can INCLUDE a rare MAJOR 7.5 or above earthquake? OR, does it mean that in an "ACTIVE" earthquake zone a MAJOR 7.5 earthquake IS ALWAYS possible? Just looking for a little clarity here, this isn't my thread, so I don't know if it's relevent to this thread or not... -

shhhh, don't be an alarmist... Let's keep it to ourselves, maybe nobody will notice... -

GWiz replied to GWiz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
WOW! Looks like I'm "ahead of the curve" again... I've got to learn to slow down, follow the proscribed "TIMELINES" and all that... Oh well, too late, this thread is already up... -
Should we shut down Canada's nuclear reactors?
GWiz replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Quite right, my bad, thanks for pointing it out... BTW, would THAT make it an "active" earthquake zone? -
Sorry, you're asking the wrong entity... Those answers have to come from "people" far above my "pay-grade"... Maybe you should be asking THEM, that's why you pay them isn't it?

There ya go, that's the difference, when it comes to the game of nature vs humanity, I bet on the WINNER, nature, every TIME... That way I can't lose... Really? You see a difference between dying of the flu and dying of SARS? That's kinda strange... Especially since it resulted in a whole bunch of needless American deaths... Oh well, to each their own... Typical Superiority Complex and there-in lies the problem... I asked "Who's?" not "what"... Kevin O'leary meet BC_2004, you have a lot in common... You both worship at the same alter...
-
No need to.. You're very adept at making my arguments for me... Thanks...
-
It means that anything and everything "man-made" nature can destroy and that "mankind" is powerless to prevent it... Nothing more, nothing less, that's just the way it is... Doesn't mean that "mankind" has to be completely stupid about it in the way they have been, does it?
-
No game, no players... Care to tell us why YOUR Gov called SARS the flu and let thousands of Americans die without ever knowing they had SARS and doing NOTHING to prevent it's spread? Why? You feeling guilty? Who's "God" would that be?
-
Since you just admitted to not having a sense of humour you're hardly in a position to judge, are you?
