CPC & NDP really worried about an election now...

OK, fair comment... Would you mind pointing out which "former Liberal cabinet ministers" you are specifically referring to? Thanks... -

Good'un... -
You sound like you were there watching Ghaddafi ask Condi to become one of his "bodyguards"... Ghaddafi was so enamoured with Condi that Ghaddafi even gave up his nuke ambitions for her, right? So I'll ask again... Does/did what Canada does/did on the international scene matter as much as what George W. Bush did during his 8 YEARS as President of the United States? Yes or no will do... Come on, you can do it...

Saw an interesting poll about the economy today... It showed the CPC with a strong lead in regards to the economy at 31% over the Liberal's 23% (NDP 16%)... BUT the most telling aspect of the poll was that 25% polled as unsure as to who would be best to handle Canada's economy... -

Just goes to show what an amazing move it is for Layton doesn't it? -
Any specific reason you're confusing Martin with Chretien? Hell Ms. Rice wasn't the President of the United States either, but she WAS Bush's right hand girl as Secretary of State... OK, TIME to shit or get off the pot BC... Does/did what Canada does/did on the international scene matter as much as what George W. Bush did during his 8 YEARS as President of the United States? Yes or no will do... I only ask because you put out that Martin's one year as PM and what he did is the equivelent of the entire Bush Presidency and all Bush's actions during his presidency... If you believe that's so then say so... I say that Bush left the world with quite a LEGACY if you feel Martin accomplished a significant LEGACY of his own just say so straight out... You're a very capable poster here on MLW so I'm sure saying what's on your mind shouldn't be a problem for you, should it?

Kudos to Jack Layton for not taking the crumbs that the Harper Regime offered him and his straight talk that the Harper Regime needs to be defeated and that the NDP will not support the budget... In doing so he even has to face elements within the NDP party that wanted to accept those crumbs which means some rancor within his own party... Michael Ignatieff speaking to reporters set the outline that Layton took to heart it seems; that offering less than the $1 BILLION, the amount spent on the G8/G20 summit, to "appease" the NDP was ludicrous seems to have resonated well with Layton and Layton to his credit didn't cave in to Harper... Friday will now be the next round and it's looking good that the people of Canada will be making a decision on who will get to Govern them for the next few years... -

News flash bubba... Martin is so yesterdays news, and he hasn't been PM or even an MP for over 5 years, your TV on the fritz or what? Maybe Martin and Condi are having an affair after they met with Ghaddafi and each other so Ms. Rice is the one you're REALLY worried about, isn't it? Come on you can tell me, you know I can keep a secret... You won't see it on Faux News I promise...
-
Exactly right... It's also a big reason of why Bush Sr. was a one term President when he didn't finish the job by taking out SH and "freeing" Iraq post Gulf War I... Kinda like Libya today if the current "coalition" doesn't manage to eliminate Ghaddafi, his sons, and whole regime, before leaving the conflict... Kinda a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for the un-United States one could rightly say... I think the propaganda arm of the Republicants and tea partiers known as Fox News are having a very hard TIME knowing how to play this one...

And? Seeing you reduced to this level of posting is truly sad BC... Especially after I spanked you so badly on this subject matter already on this very thread... You've got nothing left I know, no dignity, no argument, just nothing... That's truly very sad indeed... BUT, I guess not surprising, considering the sad state the United States itself is in today... -

Harper's still trying to lose an election, if the NDP will let him... This courtesy of Topaz finding it > Conservative riding president quits Whodda thunk that the old Helena Guergis situation would come back to haunt Harper at this point in TIME... -
Nice catch...

Woah there, OFFICIALLY off the table does not necessarily mean practically off the table... But really it doesn't matter at this point... Gaddafi has done the damage to the US and the "west" he intended to do from the outset... The once powerful United States is reduced to being an also ran both globally and domestically as the following clearly illustrates > Ron Paul: Libya No Fly Zone Unconstitutional - "Texas Congressman Ron Paul has joined the growing chorus of voices opposing President Barack Obama's decision to go to war in Libya without Congressional approval. Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that Congress shall have the power "To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water." In a video shot on Friday, Ron Paul calls President Obama's decision to impose a no-fly zone over Libya "an act of war." "The no-fly zone is unconstitutional because Congress has not authorized it," he says. Watch the full video below. The idea that any one man has the power to take the entire nation to war is downright undemocratic regardless of who is president. A recent FOX News poll found 65 of registered voters opposed to U.S. military involvement in Libya. The tragedy playing out in Libya demands the world attention, but it is hardly unique. Last week, Saudi Arabian forces invaded Bahrain to help the repressive al-Khalifa monarchy brutally suppress an uprising by the nation's Shia majority. In attacking Muammar Gaddafi while ignoring the atrocities committed by the House of Saud, President Obama continues the longstanding U.S. tradition of condemning one dictator while shaking hands with another. This is not the change we voted for in 2008. It is business as usual. No wonder he didn't want the issue to go before Congress, where lawmakers like Ron Paul could have engaged in a public debate over the rationale for going to war in Libya. If the past ten years of the War on Terror have taught us anything, it should be that these types of decisions should never be made behind closed doors." - Watch a US News Network like CNN and one quickly learns that the United States is a mere shadow of the once great nation it was... Gaddafi has managed to manipulate the US like the well seasoned puppet master he is, and was, ever since 9/11 happened... Even worse was when Bush proved that there never was any such thing as a "war on terror" by letting the world's #1 proven terrorist, Ghaddafi, off the hook in '05... Ghaddafi "giving up" his "nuke ambitions", something he never had and had no intention of getting, was the crowning glory of the Bush Legacy as it is now being played out... -

This I can agree with... As to the demographic of this forum, while I believe you may be correct, does not mean that all sides are equally or well represented... -

Will Ignatieff maintain his promise to go "home" to the US
GWiz replied to scouterjim's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That is a very common story about people living in the United States... My ex worked in the states for some 12 years as a travel nurse... She worked at a variety of Hospitals throughout Florida as a Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse (her specialty)... In '99 she had some minor heart problem herself that had to be treated, the company she worked for had a co-pay health insurance plan that paid 80% of her costs and her portion of the bills was still over $11,000.00 that she paid out of pocket to the Hospital she was working for at the TIME... So it's easy to see how quickly one can go broke from medical bills in the US when they come rolling in... It was one of the reasons she came back to Winnipeg to live and work...
