Damned if you do, damned if you don't: The Bush Legacy
GWiz replied to GWiz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
While basically true in concept, there are messes and then there are Bush/Cheney type messes... I'll take the former over the latter any day... Even if only that they are slower to develop into full blown crisis state... That's the reason for this thread... -
Awww darn... I was pulling for our guy Martin...

In a word... So?

Anything to waylay a thread, eh... Nice try though and I gotta admit, very funny... Too bad waylaying this thread doesn't solve the US's dilema, maybe you'll get the UN and/or NATO to pull your chestnuts out of the fire before it's too late... I know your admin is trying real hard to do just that... Good luck on that front btw, I'm pulling for ya, that is I'm pulling for the Obama/Hillary team, after all they inherited this mess from Bush/Cheney... -

Dat's true, luckily the 2 Ks didn't push any buttons they shouldn't... -

Closest to a straight forward answer you've given on this thread... I'm beginning to think you really don't "get it", that'd be really sad... -

Nice to see someone starting to "get it"... But I DO so love watching BC and his Dog (no offence intended) defending Obama and Hillary, it must be killing him... -
Hmmm, pretty impressive, on purpose you say, why would you be down there? Since the question asks specifically for the depth record for a SUBMARINE, the answer is the Soviet K-278 Komsomolets, with a design operating depth of 1,250 meters (4,101 feet). Read more: What is the current depth record for a submarine? | Answerbag http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/7080#ixzz1GomGBP2G You wouldna be giving us a "fish story" now would ya? Not sayin' it ain't true that you were down that deep, just not in a Submarine, certainly not a Boomer, which you told me you were on...

Giving up something you never had and had no intention of getting to get an "acceptable" rating instead of being the world's #1 terrorist with all things past forgiven.... WOW! I wonder how Bush ever got him to take such a "deal"... BTW - You do know that the MO of the 9/11 attacks FIT Ghadaffi a whole lot better than they ever did Bin Laden, right? Well my friend you're either no where near as smart as I think you are or you are purposely trying to ignore the obvious... Either way, it's still a no win situation for the US... Like I said, I hope Ghadaffi doesn't get the last laugh on this one like he did when Bush let him off the hook... -
On the contrary, I merely think that the Liberal policies better reflect MY values more so than any other party's values... Quite a simple concept really, you should try it sometime... As for Layton and/or Harper they are who they are just as Ignatieff is who he is... My view of them is simply a reflection of who they are and what they do/have done and nothing more or less... YOU can make of that whatever you want, makes no difference to me what-so-ever...
-
I second that emotion...
-
Are you under some misquided impression that I'm an Ignatieff supporter or something? Or that I care about what Ignatieff does or doesn't do? If so you're sadly mistaken... I didn't go to any Liberal conventions, wasn't worth the money and besides I thought that the Liberals screwed themselves by not scrapping the convention format and making it one member one vote across the board... In the whole post Martin mess, I was a Ken Dryden supporter, with Kennedy as an alternate choice, the rest of the bunch I couldn't care less about... Sorry to burst your bubble like that...
-
Interesting read... Thanks...
-
Sure ya do! An ol' fart like you wouldn't be allowed near one 'cause you'd stink it up more than it already is...
-
At BC's age me thinks I'd be waiting FOREVER for that to happen... He hasn't seen the inside of a sub in quite a few years I'm betting... Now, about those "sinking (not stinking) fuel rods", that's a whole other matter... I also NEVER worry about things I have no control over... That'd be just plain silly...

L'il ol' me tell the big ol' US what to do? Are you nuts? Hell no... Read the thread title again... I'm simply saying the US can't win this one no matter what it does or doesn't do... You can thank Bush for that, and that's ALL I'm saying... So laugh away my friend... Just hope that Ghadaffi doesn't have the last laugh... -
No worries I NEVER panic, and I NEVER make like an Ostrich, like YOU tend to do at TIMES... 2012? Let's see, Nukes contaminate sea life/water table, no sea life/water table = no humanity... Yup, one year to 20 months sounds about right...

OK, gottcha, you didn't miss the point, you choose to ignor it... Fighting on the side of the Saudi King may, or may not, be in the best interests of the US I'm thinking... It may be an interesting decision you guys in our lower 48 may actually have to make if Ghadaffi succeeds... -
The US Navy has pulled back its aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, after seventeen of its crew were exposed to radiation while flying sixty miles off the Japanese coast. http://www.thenation.com/article/159234/fukushimas-spent-fuel-rods-pose-grave-danger

I case you forgot I'm not those people... - Japanese Emperor Akihito delivered an unprecedented televised address to his disaster-stricken nation Wednesday, saying he was “deeply worried” by the catastrophes plaguing Japan. It is a sign of extraordinary danger. His father, Emperor Hirohito, known posthumously as Emperor Showa, never spoke in public until he was stripped of political power and forced to renounce his divine status after Japan’s defeat in World War Two. Now the world’s oldest continuous hereditary monarchy and world’s only remaining Emperor has been enlisted to lift people’s spirits in the face of a daunting disaster. Sombre and stoic, dressed in a dark suit, the 77-year-old emperor expressed his concern for survivors of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami and thanked rescue teams that have been trying to help them. - http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2011/03/16/peter-goodspeed-emperors-appearance-signals-magnitude-of-japan-disaster/

http://www.siasat.com/english/news/bush-was-right-engage-gaddafi-ex-aide Gotta say I'm surprised that you totally missed the point... Unless Ghadaffi is STOPPED, and the US is the only one, with or without help that can do it, the ENTIRE ME/North Africa can turn into a very bad situation for the whole world if dictators start to FIGHT, Ghadaffi like, instead of complying like Tunesia and Egypt did... Even Saudi Arabia may become a nightmare scenario for the US (and the world), not just the likes of Bahrain (which may draw SA in), Libya and Syria... -
Nope, but you are, need me to post instructions on trolling for you too?
-
Like I told Saipan and saur... You'll never catch anything when trolling with an empty hook... You need a good spinner bait to catch something... Red Devils with a triple hook seem to work best for Jack or Walleye... You're welcome... No charge for the tip...

Because of Bush's actions in Iraq and the general way the US is seen because of that action the US is now placed in a no win situation when it comes to Libya... If Ghadaffi succeeds in putting down the uprising in Libya; recapturing all that the rebels have gained, which is quite possible; where does that leave ALL those people in the ME/North Africa that have and are standing up for freedom and hopefully a more democratic way of living for millions of people? Even Egypt can "turn" (hopefully not) if someone like Ghadaffi can overcome a rebellion inspite of EVERYONE being against him... When Bush took Ghadaffi "off the hook" he unleashed what may become the worst thing to befall the US and the world since 9/11... The United States has become a toothless tiger, because the US has no other choices left...
