  1. If the cons keep it up. It will be sustained. Enough for them to be ousted,
  2. There is plenty of reasons for these changes.
  3. We'll know before then. The economists will be raving about it. It will be all over the internet and news. By the time the real data comes in, which I'm fairly certain won't show what the conservatives want it to, it will be far to late for Harper and old Oliver. The secret will be out about their lackluster economic record, as if it wasn't already for anyone who actually knows whats going. I keep saying it. The conservatives are loosing themselves this election. Basically handing it away. They got to comfortable and far to cocky.
  4. I agree, our public school system is broken. It's stuck in the past. We need to modernize our school system while also focusing on the basics. Better trades schooling at lower level would also prepare kids and teenagers for manual labour. Everything is moving to a highly technological way of accomplishing things, we need to incorporate this into all aspects of learning. A school system that not only prepares children to have a basic knowledge of reading, writing and math skills but also a basic knowledge of many trades and proficient computer knowledge. We would have a very dangerous work force if these kinds of things we implemented. Save all the advanced stuff for those that want to pursue it in university. All the basics will be covered on those subjects in post-secondary anyways.
  5. It was bound to happen eventually, we don't have any where near the population to support a secondary sector economy anymore. India and China will continue to pull in manufacturing, no matter how hard we fight it. It's just how developing economies work. We are and for the foreseeable suture will be a primary and tertiary Sector economy. Unless of course the government intervenes in it, which the right doesn't want. We could try and jump on the growing $6.5 Trillion green energy boom that is happening right now, but the right doesn't want that either. Essentially if we want to save our manufacturing economy our best bet is to absolutely sell ourselves short by lowering every measurable coproate rate we have to try and attract new corporations. Which will work, for awhile. But then there's that pesky thing about affordable living and working conditions and so once share holders and boards see that there are bigger profits to be made overseas or down south in other developing countries than they too will leave.
  6. Under Harper, not too much. The right has always been very pro-corporation, as if the corporations give a crap about them. Under a government that panders to corporations a little less, who knows? Let's elect one and find out.
  7. Libertarianism believes at it's foundations that corporations can be trusted more than our government to do the right thing. It believes in the deregulation of corporate restrictions, citing that any and all transgressions can be solved by a court system without any significant oversight. A court system that would more than likely be at the whim of the highest bidder. No thanks, I'll take my chances with the government over corporations that care about nothing other than pandering to their shareholders interests. Interests that often include no one but themselves. This is why Libertarianism will never gain any significant momentum in this country.
  8. They don't want high taxes on themselves. They don't care about anyone else.
  9. Probably because the righties never want to tax anything?
  10. So the NDP and Scandinavian socialist countries do in fact share common policies?
  11. OP left out the information that disproves their point, because it doesn't prove their point.
  12. I don't know about that claim. I mean yeah they probably all bend the scientific truth a bit but it's pretty tough to say who does it the most.
  13. I agree with all of this. Tax Credits for single parents has to stop. Tax credits for anyone has to stop, unless everyone get's them.
  14. As opposed to which party that doesn't ignore scientific evidence?
  15. Harper loves Republic politics. I'm sure he got this from them. It's an easy way to undercut the left-leaning base voters, take them out of the election or make it so hard for them to get ready for it they may just give up. Hopefully it gets struck down soon, useless piece of legislation.
  16. If the Fair Elections act gets overturned in court before the election there's a whole bunch of people that, if they do show to the polls, will most likely not be voting Conservative in October.
  17. I think Marner will be a better winger for the leafs than Center. He just doesn't have NHL #1 Center size. That and he's a goal scorer so he fits that role better on the wing. Kadri is good but he seems to be more of a middle 6 Center to me. The leafs need to draft one of the big mobile centers available in next years draft. They should be trading Phanuef and stocking up on 1st round picks next year. Auston Matthew is the best right now but that would require winning the lottery, one that really catches my eye is a kid named Logan Brown. 6'6, 216 lbs. He's fast, has a booming shot and smooth hands for a big boy. I expect his stock to rise by the draft next year though. The leafs should be aiming for him. In fact every team should be aiming for him. He has the upside of a Ryan Getzlaf, power forward #1 centerman.
  18. That pick ended up being Roslovic.so essentially Roslovic, Armia and Lemiuex for Kane. Jets win that trade.
  19. They have Marner anyways in a few years so they have their own "patrick kane" so to speak in the system. They'll trade in Phanuef if not now then in the next year or two.
  20. Yeah leafs are entering full rebuild. Next to go should be Phanuef. If they can get more picks and prospects for him they should have a pretty stocked cupboard for anywhere from 2-4 years down the road. Essentially they should be finishing in the bottom 5 in the league next season and that draft is already shaping up to not be as deep as the 2015 draft but to have a lot higher talent in the top 10, some potential franchise players in the top 5. It's going to be a long road for the most impatient fans in the world but if they can endure another 2, 3 possibly even 4 more years of mediocrity the leafs will emerge with a very good team.
  21. If that's the way it should be we should all be living in teepee's on the plains, that didn't happen though so obviously that's not the rule of the land. Our way of life in this country is the immigrant way of life. Get used to it because many more will be coming.
  22. South Park had an episode where they set the record for the amount of times sh-- is said in a single show a couple years back. Primetime TV holds little back these days.
  23. http://www.edmontonjournal.com/Alberta+government+posts+surplus+more+than+billion/11179147/story.html Looks as though the Alberta government has a surplus of $1 Billion.
