  1. A lot of Canadians believe in using the success of our countrymen to help fund this countries infrastructure. If you don't like it you're welcome to stop using the services it provides at any time. Let's just keep feeding that housing bubble in the meantime though...
  2. Remember that when you want to pull old age security or are on your death bed receiving free healthcare.
  3. Exactly, by George you've got it! Less money for government spending. But a portion of the tax payers still receive nothing. Please enjoy your counter top but every time you look at it, remember that you're now a hypocrite if you complain about government spending being to low. Because you and everyone like you wanted a new granite counter top.
  4. So you put in granite counter tops. The tax payers pay for it. And that money doesn't go back into government spending. Just into your nice shiny counter top. Enjoy it, but please don't complain about a government program not ever having enough funding.
  5. Think about it like this blueblood we all pay taxes into a great big pot. Then when the government decides they are going to provide tax credit, they want you to either have children or have home renovations. When these two things occur they decide to take money out of that great big pot and give it to you. Essentially that is welfare. No one should receive tax breaks.
  6. You do know that tax breaks theoretically come out of everyone's taxes? I am a home owner, I don't agree with this. Tax breaks are a form of welfare.
  7. As much as I have my battles with a CPC government... if the CHP ever came into power I would seriously consider migrating elsewhere. I have family in Germany, I'd head there I think.
  8. Then they can go work for it like the rest of us. I chose not to have children in my 20's to save up for having them later in life. Why should I have to pay because they didn't do the same thing? Why should non-home owners pay for home-owners renovations? Making home-owners houses worth more money. How does this make any sense to anyone. Welfare is meant to help people that need it.
  9. NDP 80% Liberal 80% Green 72% Communist 65% Conservative (Surprised at this) 40% Libertarian 13% Christian Heritage (I was hoping for 0%) 4% Bloc 43%
  10. No, I pay taxes on money I make 6 days a week. Have no children and receive no government welfare for not having any. Why should people that have children get any of the money I pay into the system to keep it going?
  11. Then why would they wait 2 years to role out their home owner renovation welfare cheques... to go along with their children welfare cheques. All this does is make homes more expensive, upping value and feeding into the housing bubble even more. Terrible idea. It was stupid when the liberals attempted to bring it in and it's still stupid now. How about we stop giving away welfare...I mean tax credits that always benefit people like Harper.
  12. hahaha that's hilarious. Yeah NDP supporters just sit at home on their computers all weekend... The way you attempt to justify the things you say would make Einstein scratch his head...
  13. When you were a kid I bet the telephone was the best new invention.
  14. Yeah because even Americans are better anti-americans!
  15. This is because the corporations have no interest in it either. They continue to say we have the problem under control, yet the problems continue to happen. I for one don't think we should ban anything, but studying the effects extensively and looking for solutions to problems is what should be done. Put protections and laws in place to make sure things don't happen as well. Corporations want free reign and actively lobby and donate to achieve that. They would much rather put profit over everything and we need laws and agencies in place to protect us from that.
  16. America is moving at a pretty fast pace over the last 3 years marijuana legalization, gay marriage, removal of the confederate flag. It's actually pretty crazy how much they are advancing.
  17. Typically if the mitigation costs more, the companies have no interest in it. Why make something less harmful, but more expensive? When I can make it more harmful and cheaper? Corporations often care less about long term harmful effects and more about short term profits. Asking corporations to mitigate harmful effects is not in their best interests and a corporation will always put it's best interests over those effected by it's products. So instead of asking them, we must tell them what to do. It may be a knee jerk reaction but it's better than no reaction at all.
  18. By being obtuse and providing nothing but massive walls of text you have to read through yourself, he thinks he's somehow got you beat. He never links to the exact part, it's a little game he plays but always seems to lose.
  19. He does that a lot. Until someone actually does fetch and proves him wrong. Then he backs down, until next time. It becomes a tiring routine.
  20. Pointless deal. Better for Ukraine than Canada. Like most deal Harper or any of our governments sign they tend to do more for the other countries involved than they do for us. One that could really benefit us, with Japan, hasn't come to fruition. Maybe because it benefits us more than them.
  21. I agree with Freddy. Some things we are far to soft on, other the States far to hard. A middle ground needs to be reached.
  22. This one is making the rounds on social media today, thought I'd share with the MLW members.
