  1. Does our dislike for Trudeau cloud our judgement that much?
  2. I think just being knowledgeable about what your saying, not lying or at least not getting called out on lying, being calm and trying not to stammer to much can win you a debate but in the end it comes down to punches landed and Trudeau threw a lot of haymakers but couldn't connect. Harper was hit with a lot of hard jabs but stood his ground. May was dancing around them all like she was two-steps ahead and Mulcair just kind of rolled along jabbing at Harper and Trudeau whenever he got the chance. Though I guess many in Ontario think justin is still their golden boy... somehow..
  3. Well I'm glad almost everyone here is pretty unanimous on that. He didn't really bring anything to the table. He just commented on what we need to fix not how to go about it. No actual substance. He has no plan, which is scary for a potential PM.
  4. These guys on City's after show think Trudeau won..... were they watching the same debate?
  5. This is what I think can win an election. He's playing responsible poker. May's all out answer is to passive and Harpers all in style is to aggressive to win an election at this time.
  6. I think your dislike towards Mulcair, is making something that I don't think anyone else cares about, more of a point than it should be.
  7. I think Trudeau will be the lone sufferer in the polls after this debate.
  8. I doubt it. Everyone talked over each other at times. Mulcair wasn't the only one badgering on questions.
  9. Trudeau stumbled out of the gate and never recovered. I think Harper handled the economy portion better than I thought he would. May and Mulcair came out winners on the environment portion. Harper took a massive hit on all things political and even stood up for Mulcair when Trudeau lambasted him about Quebec sovereignty . A battle Trudeau lost. I think Trudeau lost a lot of swing supporters that probably will split between Mulcair and Harper. I think Mulcair looked creepy, but didn't truly faulter in any way. Harper may have stood pat but there were many times he took many hits from everyone. I think after this debate we will see a slight rise in NDP support, Conservative support and probably Green support. With a drop in liberal support. After reading a lot of online comments on the videos, it seems it's pretty clear cut that May was the winner of that debate.
  10. It's what you get when you invent a tax to save everyone from. No generation likes a fibber.
  11. Harpers invented netflix tax is giving the country a good laugh at his expense. It's all over social media. There are some fun ones going around search up #nonetflixtax and #harperanetflixshow My favourites are: The lyin' king Orange is the new majority Breaking Baird Silence of the Scientists Must be hard having almost an entire generation dislike everything you stand for.
  12. The local radio station just aired a call in/internet poll to see who everyone thinks would make the better PM. Muclair was leading with 43% of the vote, Harper was behind at 30%... Justin was a lowly 25% with May pulling up the rear at 2% after their last announcement. We'll see where the poll ends at when they update again at 4pm.
  13. Yet he didn't agree to how many debates? I guess we will see. Most debates are boring, doesn't mean Muclair wont make Harper look bad as usual.
  14. No Muclair asks a question about whatever stupid thing Harper has done, is doing, is attempting to do. Robot Harpercon begins with "Uhh Mr. Speaker let me be very clear...." Harper rambles on in with a pre-written response that has absolutely nothing to do with the question. Muclair fires back at that response as well, making Harper look stupid not once but twice in a very short time. It's even better when Muclair can tie in the initial question with the response he makes to Harpers rambling. Bonus points. It's going to be fun watching Muclair the lawyer go up against Harper the "economist". He's afraid to take questions from his own damn citizens, he's shaking in his loafers with Muclair.
  15. That still doesn't explain anything, because they weren't attempting to limit voters rights in any way. Only Harper cons will stoop that low. I'm sure if you'd write most of them a cheque, they'd bend over for it.
  16. Please do explain how they were keeping voters from voting against them. I'd sure like to hear it.
  17. Jack Layton was great but had no where near the tenacity of Muclair these days. It's quite the spectacle to watch Muclair make Harper his whipping boy in QP.
  18. Democracy is threatened when the party in power does everything they can to change the rules to keep themselves in power. I mean why would any party limit the use of government issued election cards? Knowing full well that many of the people that have these cards will not vote for them? Is that not stifling democracy? Why would a government reduce the power of the electoral branch? Is that not stifling democracy? When a government uses robocalls to misdirect voters. Is that not stifling democracy? Honestly bud, they're just not that honest. "Oh there's some money to be made here!" The mating call of the far right, and believe me they'll all come running as long as they're close enough to hear it.
  19. At the time. Now it looks as though that's changed. When you can piss off the no-voters enough into voting against you, that says a lot about you as a leader.
  20. You haven't seen how quick Tom is in QP, on the fly. It's brilliant. Then you have old helmet head Steve standing there staring at his script with a blank expression on his face, as usual.
  21. But that would be going against their dear leaders monthly scripted email reminder. "Don't forget supporters Tax breaks are good because Stephen says so, remember this when you're at the polls!"
  22. Growing up my parents might have had the equivalent to $40,000 a year between the two of them. We went on camping trips every single summer long weekends, to the states, down to Mexico. I worked many part-time minimum wage jobs in high school and could afford to go on great summer vacations and trips to the lakes in BC, including music festivals with plenty of beer among other things. You make it seem like a summer vacation or a long weekend trip costs an arm and a leg. You don't have to go to Maui to get away from the hustle and bustle. Why just this long weekend I went camping about 3 hours away from my house, had absolutely no internet service and spent very little money doing so. I among many other NDP supporters probably did the same.... oh wait but I forgot only Conservative supporters go on holidays.
  23. I can't wait for Tom to stick it to Harper in the debates. It will be a glorious sight to see. They better bring a portable closet for Steve, he might need it. Everyone will see what those of us that have been paying more attention have seen in QP for the last few years. A disgrace of a PM taking shot after shot from Tom. It's like watching Ronda Rousey fight a punching bag. Shot after shot, with no hope of ever fighting back.
  24. You seem to assume that I don't pay as much if not more taxes than you do, nor have any success. I assure you I have more success than I can possibly wished to have had at this time in my life. I assure you I pay a very large percentage of my wages in taxes and I assure you I think this is a good thing. I'm no worse off because of it. I have everything I need and then some. Some people feel like they need more things in life to show off to their other successful friends that need lots of things to prove the same. These people prove that it doesn't take intelligence to be successful. I pay my share for the services this country offers it's citizens and I'm proud of that fact. So no sir, you are welcome for the services. And you're welcome to stop using them at anytime.
