  1. I think Quebec is free to leave and take their debt with them anytime they would like. No skin off my back. As for how terrible the Libertarian party platform is...
  2. I have it's actually quite terrible. It relies on the idea that Corporations will actually have any interest in your well being after most if not all government power over them is reduced and that ultimately the courts, in a country ruled by Corporations, would be free of a corruption to side with you in the case of that happening.
  3. Libertarians will never have a sitting MP let alone form a government over the next decade. So go ahead and vote for them.
  4. I feel like you weren't even a socialist at all. And if you were, you were a terrible one. You're talking points were terrible, your ideas were terrible. Are you one of those paid internet trolls? it's like you were hired to come go on forums and be the worst socialist you possibly could be and then pretend like you're having some crazy awakening just before the election. Yea you sure fooled us!
  5. Yeah if telling the truth means saying nothing at all. Brad Wall and I'm sure the rest of the "have" premiers are probably wondering what the formula is and why it hasn't changed since who knows when becomes nobody knows anything about it. I frankly don't care, I just find it funny how he will even turn on one of the only premiers in his corner.
  6. The Anyone But Conservative (ABC) Canadian Veterans Campaign 2015 will be targeting swing ridings as well as areas with military bases. The campaign will be launching an Indiegogo fundraiser to garner donations. Already, the group is drawing support on Facebook through a page that now has over 12,000 follows. Then he's got his recent remarks about the Federal Transfer formula being none of Brad Walls business. Friendly fire! Con down, con down! It's like Harper wants to lose this election.
  7. Exactly. Adding more value to homes is not what we should be doing right now. Nor promising to do. It's irresponsible. The only aspects of the economy, Real estate and Construction, that do not need a boost. What a stupid promise.
  8. Actually it's far from too late. And it's people like you that are the problem. We can stop it and I'm optimistic that we will. You waste the remainder of your life destroying this world for future generations all the while complaining about it not being stopped. I think the only Arrogant human on this board is you.
  9. The age old if you think you can't beat em join em. Fortunately not all of humanity has given up on the thought of changing our ways. Each successive generation, seeing the magnitudes of destruction left behind by the generations that come before them, have starting to cling to that notion of a better world. It's just to bad we have so many people still in power who think this isn't possible. Though I'm sure many of them wish it didn't have to be like this too but I'm guessing the financial security destruction brings keeps them from ever doing anything about it.
  10. Whose fault is that? There are plenty of people on this planet trying to make changes. Then there are those who drag their heels on this type of progress. We have caused more damage to this planet in the last 150 years than probably any other time of our existence. A massive portion of this damage stems from our use of fossil fuels, namely oil. And the methods we use to get it, including war. I see that you are angry about this but I ask why then vote for a party whose position on these matters is to run with the status quot of destruction of this planet for profit? I'm not saying all other parties are vastly different but some of them at least show an interest in change.
  11. We also have the potential to stop being so destructive. Though many would rather have money right now and leave that problem up to future generations.
  12. Oh you're one of those misanthropist types that's pissed off at everything... We can be arrogant because we have the thought process that allows us to do that.
  13. I think it's pretty obvious why anyone would see themselves on a high horse as compared to the entire animal kingdom. What a dumb remark.
  14. Still waiting for my update. Guess I waited to long.
  15. And you missed my point, that in the last 10 years I've never seen or heard of a youth this interested in an election. Take it for what you want. But just know that I'm going to launch a giant I told you so thread when it happens. I guarantee it in fact. I honestly don't remember this projected high youth voter turnout in the last few years, Please do educate me on the matter with links. Actually please educate me that voter turnout in any form is high in the last 2 elections. Let me educate you recently. both Vancouver and Toronto and Alberta had higher youth voter turnout in their recent elections than in that last 2. Everyone underrates the youth vote. This time it's going to bite them.
  16. yeah let's just ruin the economy entirely. "Here you don't need us, make whatever you want."
  17. Just like how good old Brad Wall got the Hutterite community leaders on his side. In these types of communities the leader tells everyone they're heading to town and who to vote for. Small voter groups can sway very close ridings.
  18. I don't recall hearing this kind of chatter in the last 3 elections. I haven't heard people under 25 talking about how the debates went before. Today at work was weird. I can actually have intelligent conversations with young people about the debates. It's actually kind of odd how engaged they are this time around. Frankly, I personally think that more people are engaged for this election than any of the recent elections we've had. A large portion of that can no doubt be attributed to the steady rise of social media.
  19. This is from an article about the GOP debates and I think relates to how we are viewing our own debates. Those who favour Harper or Mulcair offer glowing assessments of how they handled the debate. Which probably reflects the way we plan on voting more than whether they actually did any good. I think this more reflects the fact that neither of them lost any ground. Those who favour Trudeau in the debate think he did good simply because he didn't get pummeled. Which I think is more Harpers fault as painting him not ready, now he uses his perceived inexperience to actually gain followers who think he really didn't seem that bad. It was worth a shot from the Concamp but now they may have to move on to a new attack.
  20. But still has nothing to do with Harper himself. Coal is still very much alive and well out in Sask and Alberta. His buddy Brad Wall in Sask isn't stopping that anytime soon. We'll see if Notley makes a dent in the remaining coal fire plants in Alberta.
  21. I sure haven't. It's pretty well known we have one of the lowest youth voter turn outs of the developed countries.
  22. This one is making the round on virtually every single macleans video posted about the elections. As well as pretty much every website as the zinger of the night. "Mr. Harper no one believes you!" I think this may be the line of the campaign. when you read why some of the people think Trudeau won, it's because he exposed Harper for his lies. Lies about the parties wanting to kill income splitting for seniors and lies about netflix taxes. I think Harper may even suffer in the polls after that one. The Media in general seems to be running with the fact that Trudeau took Harper down a notch.
  23. If you watched any of the city news coverage after the debate they went around to some students at a local university as well as a local family's household to get their impressions. It seems as though all the leaders did well to them but among the people asked Mulcair was still the name mentioned as being most favourable in contrast to Harper. With some of the students saying it's Harper's time to go. I've been saying it for the last few years and I'll continue saying it until election day.. Harper has turned a large majority of the second largest voter demographic in the country against him. His ignorance of environmental and political policies not to mention his many scandals is turning young people against him. They are pissed off and they will vote. Never under estimate pissed off youth. Unfortunately Harper has done just that. He's struck a chord with them, albiet a rotten one. I see and hear about it every single day. I don't expect you to believe me, you think very little of the youth of this country and I don't blame you for that. But they will vote and they won't be voting for Harper. I reckon we see one of the largest youth voter turnouts in the history of this country come October.
