  1. That's pretty good actually. I heard of The Weeknd but never took the time to check it out. I just had to put the Sheepdogs in, saw them last summer and was actually really impressed with them live. The album without a doubt has a Black Keys jive but I think that just goes along with the sleeze rock revival that is happening right now. Check out Monster Truck, I've seen them twice in the past year and both times were great. Their album is good but it does not do their live show justice in any way. I'm definitely biased in my opinion, I've always been into the metal, punk and indie music of Canada. I've actually toured the country and parts of the US back in the day and played with some pretty amazing Canadian bands, some that have never even released any significant material. From small town bars all way to big time summer festivals and world wide tours, this country has some amazing music to offer and that's something we can all be proud of regardless of our political leanings. I've always held the notion that the best music isn't always the stuff that sells the most or bieber and drake would be topping all the lists here, which we all know is just ridiculous!
  2. It's really just common sense. You should try it sometime.
  3. I saw a 30 year old man today try to use Bedmas on an equation that had no brackets... It was scary. Math skills aren't declining, they already declined....
  4. I'd add to the mix... Death From Above 1979 - You're a Women, I'm a Machine The Sheepdogs - The Sheepdogs Protest The Hero - Kezia Monster Truck - Furiosity A number of Broken Social Scene albums... ****ed Up - David Comes to Life A number of Barenaked Ladies albums..
  5. We all knew it was coming. I just thought they'd try a little harder.
  6. It also depends on the people you are asking. I bet I could ask all those same questions to random people on the street and get different results.
  7. They're really really clammering!
  8. If Harper equaled Canadian values, he wouldn't have so many haters. In fact Harper lovers are a shrinking minority in this country they just tend to be really loud.
  9. We all know western countries are exempt from the Geneva Conventions, haven't you heard? Bush and co would have been tried in court long ago if they weren't.Nothing will be done about it, all that has to happen is for Canadian to hear about it and the damage is done. Harper will stoop to any low. The jokes on him though, as it will just lose him swing voters. Canadians are far smarter than the conservatives give them credit for.
  10. This is a non-story to anyone who can think logically. To the conservative base it's huge because they've been clammering for something, anything to get their party out of the hole its dug itself into. Unfortunately for them this won't be the hard hitting story they're looking for.
  11. Like I said until something concrete is offered up, we move on.. The only people making a big deal about this... are conservative voters, which we all know is your camp.
  12. I've seen plenty . They can be arranged to look pretty cool actually.. looks better than this..
  13. He just doesn't understand the Convention and how it's written. They taught him some "pertinent information" on the Geneva Conventions in NATO you know so of course he knows all there is to know about them. Except they must have left out the fact that the rules regarding POW's don't just apply to the country holding said POW's. Maybe he wasn't paying attention that day, everyone else whose looked them over seems to understand it though. Why would the countries who put together the Geneva Conventions on POW's, make it so that the rules only apply to countries holding said POW's? Does that make sense to you? That leaves an awful lot of loopholes open to some considerable interpretation if that's the case, which of course it doesn't seem to be.
  14. So its coming down to Soudas' words against Muclair's, is what this article suggests? Soudas has absolutely no proof, other than his word. I'm sure if Soudas was saying something about Harper, you'd be the first to comment about how it means nothing without proof. But of course you worship Harper and probably kiss the floor he walks on so, we'll take this for what it's worth and move on until something concrete is offered up.
  15. It says nothing in there about other governments not having to give those same POW's the exact same treatment. You're living in a fantasy world. The damage is already done, they are talking about it on the news, it's making the rounds on the internet. Now everyone knows exactly how distasteful conservative politics can be. The best part about it is, it's their own attack ad's coming back to bite them in the rear. Who would have known the conservatives would fund their own defeat?
  16. Or they start using arguments that have literally nothing to do with the argument at hand. Fallacy 101 from Derek2.0
  17. http://thinkpol.ca/2015/06/29/conservatives-isis-ad-violates-geneva-convention-opposition-says/ Here's a website that finally has something on the claim. They point to this. That doesn't mean that just because POW's are not in the power of a government they don't have to be humanely treated by that government. Using them as fodder for political propaganda, especially since many of those POW's are more than likely deceased by now, is without a doubt inhumane treatment. The Conservatives should be ashamed of themselves, using POW's to further their own political agenda. Regardless of what you think Derek, many Canadians will not like it. It's at the very least distasteful.
  18. He doesn't have any facts he only has his partisan opinion.
  19. Because you have don't actually know. If you did you would post the exact section and this conversation would be over.
  20. I posted information, with a warning that it may not be validated information, and asked everyone on this forum in that post to help me find where in the Geneva Convention it was stated that it is internationally illegal to use prisoners of war in political propaganda. I never, unlike you, posted an absolute based on what you say is evidence buried in a wall of text. Post the actual part where it says or doesn't say that this is or isn't part of the Geneva Convention. If you can't do so then obviously you have no idea where it does or doesn't say it in the Geneva Convention.
  21. It's no secret Harper loves Republican values. How does the sand taste, you must of had your head down there for long enough to know? Prove he doesn't or move on.
  22. That will be the real win for all Canadians, even if the Cons get a minority government it will hopefully stop the attack on Canadian values and put a cap on the American Republican values Harper loves to push through our parliament for awhile. I wonder though with this Reform Act passing through the Senate, that if the Cons get a minority government. If the Liberal and NDP MP's could stage some sort of parliamentary cuop with their leadership forcing a potential coalition through new leadership review votes. It could be possible I think.
  23. That's a if the NDP don't do anything stupid and the cons and libs continue to do so, they may just hand it to him on a silver plate predicition. In the end I think it will have less to do with Muclairs policies as it does with Harpers actions.
  24. Of course you'll have the anti-socialists running around screaming socialism every chance they get, regardless of weather it has anything to do with socialism or not.
