This is what our non-discriminate world looks like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q7XumVOIII http://globalnews.ca/news/2435863/10-year-old-girl-patted-down-at-airport-over-juice-box/

I think what Dialamah is saying is that raping young women is bad, but discrimination is worse.

The Spoiler-Filled, Spoilerific Star Wars: The Force Awakens Thread
Hal 9000 replied to kimmy's topic in Arts and Culture
Ok, I'll take a stab at it; Backstory: Luke has become a galactic man-whore. Silver stormtrooper (Obi-Wans daughter, named Alice Kenobi) infiltrates the rebels as a young woman, they fall in love, Luke trains her in the jedi ways with the expectation that they bring peace to the galaxy. She later finds out that her destiny is with the Imperials, Luke somehow knows this. She is pregnant, gives birth and is told the baby died - she loses her shit and joins the Imperials. Luke takes the baby to...whatever planet. She knows that Kylo has the powers of the dark side and when he's ready, she brings him into the fold. The movie: Luke trains Rey in the Jedi ways. He is conflicted but he knows the only who can stop Sliver woman (for some reason) is her own daughter. She takes off to do the deed, unknowing who she is facing. Luke gets drawn into the fight. He travels to save his daughter Rey, but it's too late - an epic battle ensues and Rey fights Silver woman (who is played by Angelina Jolie), Rey does just fine - but weakens and is full of doubt as she learns the truth. Luke kills Silver woman. Luke is very much injured and that's when Kylo steps in to finish Luke. Rey tries to fight Kylo, but he has just absorbed all of Luke's power and becomes stronger. Rey will live to battle her cousin on another day and in another movie - Finn will be very supportive because he loves Rey. He'll spend the movie killing random stormtroopers and generally clearing the path for the main storyline- 65 replies

I want to know the lifespan of a wookie, because it seems to me that Chewbacca has to be at least 30 years older than Han Solo.- 65 replies

I don't if Disney thought that far ahead, but they will be forced to tie the relationship together somehow. I hope we're not going to have to bear out the concept that Rey's mother is now a bad guy and Rey must confront her a'la Vader/Luke and Kylo/Solo - That would be too much, too soap opera.- 65 replies

Of course you know it wasn't a real inquiry though.

They didn't say it...but, I think we know. All I know is that the universe woulda been a much happier place if the whole Skywalker clan had just been killed off or if they just left Anniken on Tatooine.- 65 replies

The Spoiler-Filled, Spoilerific Star Wars: The Force Awakens Thread
Hal 9000 replied to kimmy's topic in Arts and Culture
The film was predictable throughout. I didn't mind it, but c'mon. I knew that Rey was gonna be Luke's daughter from her first scene, I guess that's how they'll explain her natural Jedi skills. But Kylo Ren was made to look way too soft and unstable. I really hoped that killing Solo would strengthen him, but for a trained Jedi to pretty much lose a sword fight to a generic stormtrooper and then proceed to get his handed to him by Rey was laughable. A movie like this is only as good as the bad guy in it, and the bad guy was sad indeed. If Disney wanted to expand the story, they woulda made Kylo Ren worse than Vader, but...ho hum. they chose the PC route.- 65 replies

Get real, If Christy Clark said that, you know there would be a mob outside her office insisting on her resignation.

So, who's daughters should we compromise for this "work in progress"? Mine!

When the groups involved are described as Women, Neo-Nazis and Anti-Fascists, do you really think the reporting is gonna be fair?

I said several pages back that these victims would be victimized twice - and that is happening as police, media and politicians seem more willing to run around saying the things that will have them both keep their jobs, and sweep this away as soon as possible. The liberals on this board, in their denial, are a microcosm of whats happening around Europe as a whole. It's actually shameful and embarrassing to see the left wing posters deflect the obvious truth or hide from this event.

WCR - If a female is going to take on the responsibility of a facilitator, that should include consideration of other female posters, whether or not they are active. A facilitator needs to rise above the impulse to obtain approval from other members. They have the added responsibility 'especially female facilitators' to address issues that female posters come across time and again in forums. Certainly, these issues won't be addressed by male facilitators like they should be by female facilitators This is a really informative post from WCR. The idea here is that Kimmy should not facilitate in a fair way, that her purpose should be to advocate a certain perspective, a feminist perspective. She should "rise above the impulse to obtain approval....", is implying that she should not be friends with the men, only the women. She should lord above the men and rally the feminist agenda. WCR has rallied for women only threads (fair enough) and equal female representation in the moderating staff (also, fair enough). But there are maybe 5 or 6 regular female posters on this forum and now a female facillitator - which, not one guy has argued or protested. Problem is; Kimmy is the most politically fair and balanced female on these boards and that's just not gonna be good enough for WCR. Now that women have a female facilitator, WCR will no longer be able to target her objections to Charles or MH, she can't claim victimhood because women are now represented in the mod team. WCR doesn't want a female mod, she wants a radical feminist mod. If I had to guess, I'd say Kimmy is in for a rough ride from WCR.

Am i really being objectified? I feel so used!

I haven't seen it...and don't intend to. However, we should be careful what we consider a "documentary". A true documentary shouldn't know where it's going, it should tell it's own story and try and keep its own influence out. Thanks to Michael Moore, we now accept opinion and political pieces as "documentaries". New documentaries ( Inconvenient Truth, Blackwater etc) have an agenda, and agenda that might not keep the facts - or at least all the facts. You've heard the defence side of this case through a well planned out political opinion piece - that's all.
-
The complaint is simple, You're an honest poster! You're balanced in you beliefs and are honest enough to usually see both sides of a topic. You're not a feminist pushing a feminist agenda, you're not squashing the male posters on this board like she'd like you to do. She can't manipulate you like she manipulates Jacee. The fact that most people here like you, chafes on her badly because to her that means you are subservient to the men. In short, to have a woman on the moderating team that's not a raging feminist is, to her, almost worse than not having a woman on the moderating team at all.

It was me who was called "flippant". Yeah, it hurt somewhat, but i'm not a snitch. I just want some wholesome, maybe even heated but honest debate.

So, what do you refute?

You're joking - right?
