  1. We might still have an Iltis, or three.
  2. I found myself agreeing with some of Trudeau's talking points. He presented a realistic attitude about the need for oil, today. This is still today right now. We haven't shut down the machines yet. Secondly that the revenue from this energy production leads to increased revenue for research into CO2 reduction technology. I looked into that and it is true. So Mr. Trudeau came across as sounding sensible to me. The real criticism of Keystone is not the oil production and resulting CO2 per se, but the impact it has on the local environment. If Mr. Trudeau would just give us more straight talk and less of his useless virtue signalling, that has gotten him into trouble in the past, he would be a far more likeable Prime Minister.
  3. Sounds like a lawyer's paradise.
  4. Fans? No. Do I respect the work he does? Absolutely. Me likee
  5. The way I look at this, the ref called it, but you don't like the call. So what. Get over it and move on. " - Upon video review, the call on the ice stands. - "
  6. And likewise allowing the anti-white discrimination to continue, as though it were not racist.
  7. I'd be fine with it banning the Nazi's, or better yet the fascists, but only if it also bans the communists. Oh wait, that gets rid of all of us.
  8. Maxime Bernier: "The goal of the green Left is to radically transform our society through hysterical fear that the end of the world is coming and we have no choice but to give up our freedoms and way of life."

    - Maxime Bernier at the start of a tweet-storm in which he eviscerates leftist wunderkind Greta Thunberg.

Bernier holds back no punches for the little girl. Some highlights-

"Their agenda is clear. Thunberg: “We must change almost everything in our current society.” They want to make us poorer and restrict everything from housing, transportation, food, travel, and what we consume, to even having babies.

GretaThunberg is clearly mentally unstable. Not only autistic, but obsessive-compulsive, eating disorder, depression and lethargy, and she lives in a constant state of fear. She wants us to feel the same: “I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I fear every day.”

If she’s just a “child,” why should we care about her immature and simplistic opinion on policies that affect millions? Why is she invited to the UN and getting massive media coverage? How convenient that we can’t criticize this alarmist “child” urging everyone to “panic.”

The green leftists want us to focus on the feelings of this girl so as to prevent any debate on the radical ideology she is pushing. But she and her parents are responsible for making her an international figure at the center of political controversies. Not the rest of us. My concern is not for Greta Thunberg’s feelings, but for the millions of Canadians and people in other countries who will be poorer, will suffer and have their lives upended if we let her and the movement she represents impose their radical ideas. I’m also concerned about all the children that @GretaThunberg has irresponsibly encouraged to skip school, or who have become more anxious, distressed, and in some cases suicidal because they believe they have no future.

He's right, but Greta is untouchable because she has some mental health issues.  IMO she is being exploited and her parents are the equivalent of 'dance moms'  on steroids, for environmentalists.

  9. Most likely China force Canada make only good news story, so keep happy-family trade relations good luck.
  10. People DO see through lies eventually, even those who don't follow the news every day. That is why there is a backlash to leftist liberalism today, and it is rising at a grass roots level. The seed of the idea is already growing in people's minds - "Trudeau sucks" is their meme. As long as there is an outcry and the voice of dissent is allowed, the truth has a chance. So would you deny us that right to speak the truth, Michael Hardener? Yatzee... I do not use FOX because it gives leverage to people who are biased against them outright. On the other hand it is easy enough to find the same information elsewhere, thus you cannot hold this stupid argument over me. The link provided above was GlobalNews.ca It seems you are not paying attention today Michael Hardener, and you are lashing out without understanding. You have made the same mistake twice today. You came in here full of bravado and bluster, but have now had your balls excised. Back to your safe space, fella.
  11. Don't know why your constantly citing FOX, the link I gave was BBC. Did you not read the link?
  12. I watched the video, if that's what you mean. Is that good enough? Seinfeld and Rock are number one in their field. These people are at the top of the media food chain, commanding TV air time, movies etc. You know that. I could find more people saying this if it helps. I didn't say that now, you're putting words in my mouth etc. We are threatened by it, but I was discussing a particular aspect of the problem. You conflate this with blanket dismissal. This is off topic now, no connection to thread. Besides, it seems you are n a bad mood today, after I dissed your favourite comedian. Terribly sorry
  13. We can't easily have "rules" or it becomes the same thing as suppression. I think normal people should get tired of the hype and BS and reject it outright. But, there is no alternative to turn to that sounds rational, that doesn't make us stressed and afraid. People want a leader who brings them re-assurance and restores normalcy. Can you see where this point is going?
  14. Wait, don't leave yet. You seem a bit agitated. Humour the first casualty of leftism.
  15. I did not intend to disparage your sense of humour, yours is just different, and that's ok. Although the question "was it actually humour" is a valid one. Was it, or is it being put in front of us for another reason- leftist social engineering and totalitarianism in all aspects of society, including speech, writing and now also in comedy. - The link I provided was by BBC, not FOX. Quotes were by professional comedians. Does that not convince you?
  16. Former finance minister Joe Oliver was on Global News TV last night, openly saying that Canada can benefit from climate change. Said it will be good for Canada, propel us to be world leaders in food production. He went on to say that the 12 year deadline thing being floated around the media as if it were a fact is a complete lie intended to scare people, that should not be repeated. I watched it aghast as he continued on and on. Nobody cut the microphone. Expect this man to be vilified as a complete ungeheuer (monstrosity). Link This matters to me, as I recently had to tell my in-laws that the science says there will not be a noticeable impact from global warming for about 100 to 150 years. Not right now.
  17. Today we live in a time where free speech is under threat. Comedians are being silenced by politically corrective activists. Don Rickles would absolutely clear the room. Hell, he would incite a riot.
  18. Use of the term "Climate Emergency" at this early stage is disingenuous. Ordinary people are not that stupid. Sure, we may react with concern right away at such an announcement, but let's face it, the weather was damned fine all summer. Ordinary people are going to notice this as a form of virtue-signalling that demonstrates a level of hype surrounding the issue of climate change, breeding suspicion and giving fuel to the notion, this climate change stuff is all pure bullshit.
  19. Corbyn (remain) invokes the demon of Donald Trump, but it doesn't work. "A no deal Brexit is really a Trump-deal Brexit, leading to a one-sided United States trade deal that will put us at the mercy of Donald Trump and the biggest American corporations!" People cheered at the idea. Corbyn speech backfires as Leave voters welcome his no deal Brexit Trump comparison
  20. That's because "The new comedy" is designed to be very safe and unoffensive. Hence, not funny.
  21. It's not that easy, or else would have been done already. The two opposing sides cannot come to an agreement on this, so not that easy. Because of democracy
  22. On the contrary sir. The application of tariffs to the problem of fentanyl seems very precise. And of course you are a free trader, that is what the system taught you to believe.
  23. Sorry, I do not consider Mr. Trump a friend of mine. Always considered him the clown option. When he was elected, I had a huge laugh. Don't get me wrong... I understand why he got elected. In fact I predicted it. Since then I've kept my bias as low as reasonably achievable. And given I as a Canadian don't have much "skin" in this game, see no reason to get excited. As long as it doesn't come this way... oh no, Dofo. You people get these people elected, either directly or by complicity in being morons. Therefore you get the government you deserve. But I like to call things on a case-by-case basis. Within itself, not connected to everything and everyone else, as is part of the modern day liberal neuroses. Donald Trump. Get over it So when Trump does something good, like taking this new approach on fentanyl, let's cheer him on. Stop being a partisan idiot. Not you, SpankyMcFarland. Just sayin
  24. I don't agree. It makes sense to do all of those things, as much as possible.
