  3. After his academy performance today, giving away all sorts of free goodies to people to vote for him, those numbers will go up. CBC gave him full air time of course. I thought I was watching Monty Hall on "Let's Make a Deal"!
  4. Women are part of Mankind.
  5. Trump demonstrates:

Economics is war by other means.

  6. We all know there is a lot of fake news out there. Better to wait a little and see how things play out. In this case it demonstrates that sanctions and diplomacy have a positive effect. Thanks to Donald Trump and no thanks whatsoever to his political adversaries, war has been averted again. For now.
  7. Now we know what Mr. Singh and Mr. Trudeau were talking about in their recent private meeting. Now we know why Mr. Singh was so eager to forgive Mr. Trudeau for his racist faux pas.

Trudeau: Defeat the conservatives, at all costs.
Singh: What would you have me do, Oh Sire?
Trudeau: After the votes are counted, take him out with your Kirpan.
Singh: Consider it done. Anything else?
Trudeau: Can you dress like Aladdin?

A Liberal-NDP coalition would be ideal. I would be thrilled.

Mr. Singh is showing very poorly in Quebec polls. Those  frenchies have got their act together. The best outcome of this election would be that the Liberals and NDP do very poorly, and both leaders resign. New leadership would be good for the country.

Of course Bubber would be thrilled.  Higher taxes, huge deficits, more debt, endless immigration with no basis on needs.  It’s utopia!

  8. Gorgeous autumn afternoon here, and it's a long weekend! Happy Thanksgiving! Maybe we can barbecue that turkey...;)

Couldn't decide whether it would be steak or sausage on the barby tonight. 'Why not both?" says the wife.
      I concur, says I....

      Good country, Canada

  9. Maybe markets was not quite the right word. Industries? For example when they threaten to ban imports of canola oil from us. Whole industries can be shut down because of political disagreement. Another reason why I say screw globalism. We need more sovereignty, more independence. Punish them the way they try to punish us. Mike Pompeo gave out a pretty clear warning today. Doing business with these people is not unlike doing business with criminals. What more do you expect.
  10. We knew this would happen if our markets were increasingly dependent on China, eventually your chickens come home to roost. China uses its economic muscle to call the shots, and silence the critics. But we didn't do anything, couldn't, as we were too drunk on the easy money, selling our souls by the pound. Donald Trump is the only man today standing up to China. We need to elect more leaders like president Trump. Because only a SOB like Trump can say to China what he says, and stay the course and not give in. That is the way to get their attention. In fact one of the Trump administrations demands is that China do something about stemming the export of fentanyl which is coming out of China and flooding the whole world. Not a single other country/ leader has the gall to stand up to them.
  11. Joe Biden is now politically un-dead, Zombie Joe Biden. He's been thrown overboard, kicked off the Democrat boat, his coffin set adrift at sea. An offering to the media shit-storm, may it please the gods and defeat the evil white cetacean, Moby Trump. It wants you too, Joe. It wants you too.
  12. Andrew Scheer himself is a problem. He looks uncomfortable in his own skin. Just can't get that grin off his face, neither. Stupid grinners make Hulk want to smash. And when he's asked a question that's off-script, he doesn't have an answer and ends up looking like a fool. Not exactly a leader that inspires confidence... So what's a poor conservative boy to do, vote for him anyway, because Trudeau? Hmm, maybe not. Maybe not vote for conservatives, to hell with them and Canada. Maybe vote for Trudeau instead!
  13. Biden is already a politically dead candidate, walking.
  14. Meanwhile in other news, some very bad things are happening that make all this seem like a sideshow.

    Seems, madam? Nay, it is.

  15. Hell no. I wouldn't even visit Queen and Spadina, when this are happening!
  16. Justin Trudeau: Whatever doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

  17. Mr. Singh is unquestionably the only true leader on this stage. That doesn't mean I agree with his politics, but at least he is what he appears to be. Mr. Trudeau, not so much. That doesn't appear to stop his fanatical following though. So, fill yer boots.
  18. Morons in the sense they probably don't even understand what she's saying is false. It's the media here again. Mr. Trudeau was trying to get in on the action of course. Glad to see she told him where to go. +1 Greta Thunberg
  19. Apparently 500,000 people in Montreal completely disagree with you.
  20. After recent events with blackface etc., I'm inclined to think Mr. Trudeau will win with a majority as well. Prior to this I was more inclined to Liberal minority. So in a way, the blackface scandal has only solidified liberal love for Mr. Trudeau, the act of forgiveness providing them a perverted form of catharsis, soul healing, cleansing. He was black, but now he has repented. From now on he is and will always be white.
  21. I gotta laugh about media use of the word "Brownface" - as if it were somehow less harsh than the severe blackface.

Brownface is a new word. You can use it in a sentence like this - "He was merely in brownface."

  22. Didn't say that. Learn to read, doh. But let me re-iterate. As more people switch to electric cars, the energy load switches to the power grid, and at some point it can't handle it. SMR's are being proposed as a solution. Here you go fella, I don't make shit up. Opinion article but meh- https://morningconsult.com/opinions/small-nuclear-reactors-can-power-clean-electric-vehicles/
  23. I meant light water, but it doesn't matter. This is getting off topic anyway. The design that has been approved is in fact a LWR, not molten salt. The molten salt, fast neutron, gas cooled or whatever are all experimental designs, some being prototyped. But LWR is an established, inherently safe design. Small modular reactors also make more sense in terms of safety. If there's going to be a meltdown, it's better if the reactor is small, and only a limited amount of radiation is released. No need to fear it. It's the intelligent way to reduce carbon and help address climate change. Not to worry about security either, those things can be easily handled.
  24. SMR is already a commercial product, made by GE I think but don't quote me on that. There is a Chinese and probably Russian design out there. How many years before they are common, hard to say but at least 10 years, maybe more. The regulatory framework is not developed yet, but there are already several bids or notice of intent announced. FYI, the SMR is intended to supplement power requirements for electric motor vehicles. If all cars are switched to electric, there is not enough power available in the grid to charge them. SMR's are seen as a potential solution. This is not new experimental tech. They are simply small-scale heavy water reactors, complete with containment building in a standardized design that can be dropped in almost anywhere.
  25. All new nuclear is now being built by China, and Russia. None built in the west, in fact the opposite is happening. Environmental alarmists have managed to block their development entirely, and so we have fallen behind. This despite the importance of nuclear reactors being the only viable solution to provide steady high levels of power with a low carbon footprint, to combat climate change. However the US government under Donald Trump is now taking the initiative to fund the development of advanced technology nuclear power reactors. Small Modular Reactors is another new innovative approach that comes with inherent safety advantages. Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you.
