Evil Russian Empire invades defenseless Ukraine.

What took them so long? The DoFo already banned Moskovskaya. It was a no-brainer. -

Thanks for the clarification, you want him and his country die, not him and his nation die. That means you hope they die, right? -

Sounds kinda evil to me. I did see images of large crowds of people in Moscow protesting their government. But you probably want them dead too. God damned rule breakers who don’t obey the government... -
I doubt it will have any major effect. Trudeau will win the next election. For one, the opposition is a screwed up mess that doesnt inspire confidence they can unite a party, let alone lead a country. If the CPC had a charismatic leader who stabilized the party, it would be a different story right now. Harper had good hair. For two, most people are apathetic about politics and think the government did the right thing. Problem solved, all’s well again. As long as they still have beer and smokes.

lmao He needs to be censured. Admonished. Repudiated. His punishment should be to wear blackface for a whole day in the HOC.
-
If he had just tried to engage in some kind of dialogue, would have looked a lot better.
-
Really? Well, I sure don’t want that to happen.

I’m just sittin’ back, and watchin these people come around...

Well I did read this about them having a planned meeting of some kind, but it was 6 days ago. Link Routes for the convoys will start in Cleveland, Columbus, Ohio and Fresno, California and will end on March 6 in Washington. They will be met by a congressional welcome committee to discuss policy changes, organizers said. Looks like they're rolling out the red carpet already...

Whoops, looks like its not illegal anymore. First it wasn’t, then it was. Then it wasn’t again. What’s it now? I’m dying to know. It’s like rolling dice. Crap shoot. Snake eyes again. Maybe you and Mr. Tredau will let us know the situation. Hourly update.
-
You might see a different approach in the USA in coming weeks. Their convoy is expected to arrive in Washington next week. It will be interesting to see if US congressmen or senators will meet and have a dialogue with them.

Depends what you mean by wingnuts but I don't ignore or shut anyone out, especially if they reach out in good faith. I myself don't agree that people should be put on ignore. You might simply not understand the person. They may not be well-educated members of the literati, but they still perceive a problem or injustice, and may have a good point now and then. Except of course for the forum BubberMileys, that's a different thing. Can never be taken seriously. I have noted where you sometimes seem to be trolling, as when you trash a thread or certain poster, or try to introduce a new subject in a thread that's not your own. Also sometimes you give "ups" (emoticons) to posters who are blatantly trolling, which actually encourages it to continue. I think the forum is fine, and the moderator can handle things. The real problem with irresponsible words and deeds that get people fired up is in the HOC. They set the bar for political dialogue, not you and me.

Obviously the messaging coming from this government is completely out of control. Mr. Trudeau is now imo the most contemptible Canadian PM of all time. Even worse than I imagined he could be.
-
Rumour has it the boy who became king will announce he is dropping the EA tomorrow. Presumably because it hurts his image to keep it up. The about face will prove it had nothing to do with actual need or fairness under the law. Just politics.

Glad I qualify as reasonable, if only borderline. Walkin that line, I walk the line. I am but a symbolic representation of many prevailing attitudes who look upon what just happened ans say, WTF. Can you blame people like me? We can bicker over details of who did what to whom. Larger point is the imagery of Canadian politics this presents. Politics of the masses doesnt respond to specifics, it’s all about imagery. Mr. Trudeau went too far. But he always was the kind of person who went too far.

Why are you wasting my time with this? I should figure something out? The issue was brought forward by a member of parliament. You should ask them for clarification. There are several other reports of accounts frozen without criminal charges. You might want to do some online research yourself. Several leaders in government came out just a day ago to say they were going after people’s account, even retroactively before Feb 15. Now they’re saying they will back off and unfreeze some accounts. Which version of their story do you want believe? Today’s, yesterday or the day before? Their messaging is clearly out of control.

Why does it matter so much that you need a cite? Seems liberal supporters around here are in hiding now, other than perhaps yourself. I guess I’d go in hiding too if I had the rug pulled out from under me by J Turdeau, et al. My post referred to a broad, sweeping review I did of many comments on online news web sites.
-
Seems you are here to make excuses and apologies for what’s going on. You can believe the government when they change their message from one day to the next. I no longer have any faith or trust in them or their media outlets. And I am certainly not alone in losing that trust. But I understand the need for people like yourself to have faith in this government. The alternative is rather uncomfortable, for those who are fully enfranchised...

I see a lot of anger in people’s online comments, some from professed Liberal supporters. Hopefully Mr. Trudeau has finally shit the bed. ... Final destination of unfettered liberalismus.

I see some reports from MP's about people in their constituency who've had their bank accounts frozen. These people have not been charged with a crime or even informed of their locked accounts. This is clearly illegal and their needs to be a lawsuit. The government knows it is illegal and is backing off and releasing some of the them. That the GOVERNMENT is deciding now makes this authoritarianism, pure and simple. The main intention here is to generate a message to frighten the rest of us. Ain't nobody going to want to donate to political activism now. or become involved in any capacity. Liberals have finally taken us to a place we never wanted to go, those who could see this coming.
-
You mean Jagged-Meat Singer's brother won't be charged for his $13k donation, but some little girl in BC who have 50 bucks has her account frozen? I see how it works now. Check

I see. So protests that benefit Mr. Trudeau by hurting his political opponents are still allowed. Check

Seems to me, and I ain't no lawyer, that the Emergency Act is federal, meaning it applies everywhere in Canada. The government also indicated they can extended it as long as the "threat" to Canada exists. If Canadians start protesting in their own home towns in, whether that be in Alberta or someplace even further west of there doesn't matter. The government can direct the Crown to prosecute them, then claim the emergency still exists and continue extending the Act. Protesting is effectively rendered illegal in Canada. In fact, even writing the post could be illegal...
