How wonderful to celebrate a life. Io think all life should be celebrated, if you're lucky enough to have one. Unlike those who live on the fringes as it were, and then along came Covid. We know it affected people disproportionally by age, and also by class. People who were already marginalized, the odd-ball, the addict, found themselves even more cut off from the system. Check it out man, google search result. https://www.google.com/search?q=Covid+shutdown+affect+on+drug+overdose They never had a chance against you people.

Around here we have a situation where college teachers and students are forced to wear them all day, then are free to go lick each others *ssholes at night. It’s all about context...

Sounds interesting but all information must be qualified. Yes they can work if - properly fitted, shaped mask - virus level protection - no facial hair - training on their use. Not terribly complicated stuff, but without knowing what you’re doing it’s pointless and maybe even more dangerous. .... ”There is no virus protection by half-measures.” - L. Pasteur OftenWrong

That’s exactly why I consider it my civic duty and moral obligation to never wear the mask, so that others will see that I can do so, and not die. Then eventually they will do it as well. The f*cking cowards
-
Alas, I cannot. And even inside those parameters. Depending on conditions, you may still and quite easily be euchred. Kiss one’s ass goodbye. .... ”Everyone’s gotta die sometime, Red.”

Here in my part of ON it is the other way around. You can almost take a “stupidity poll” going to the market. Especially... the outdoor mask wearer.

My pal just returned from London UK. He said absolutely no one wears a mask there anymore, at all. He and his spouse felt uncomfortable at first, because they’re the types who are freaking out over it. But they were literally the only ones, or among very few. Note the less masking there is, the less sensible it is to wear a “face covering” because that’s all it is. He said i the UK they all had covid, every one of them. During his time there he watched a football match, 15,000 people jam packed in a stadium. Then went to the jam packed pubs every night. When he came back he said he was very confused about the whole thing. Good, said I. Now you know why I am pissed. ... Two weeks later, back to doublemasking again with a full beard. .... God save the Dunderheads

In that case the best thing to do is avoid others. Just sayin imo. Dont follow my advice, you could die. Do not trust that the mask protects you. It could though if you wear a tight fitting high quality one. No facial hair. There’s literally no point if you’re a bearded, old goat.

Do you believe in the existence of soul?
OftenWrong replied to CITIZEN_2015's topic in Religion & Politics
My view, soul is a concept and does not exist at birth, but a soul can be grown through life experiences. Likewise, it can also die. -
I see. So, you are ill then?

People are confused and think the mask protects themselves now. Remember the narrative, those of you who can, that the mask is to protect others. Though I contest, it does not do that job very well either. I know a guy who double- masks with an N95 and regular over top. He has a big, giant beard. I never say anything.

1. We are far from a dictatorship such as the one enjoyed by Putin. Our system has certain checks and balances on government power that preserve freedom. So dictatorship would not happen in Canada unless these checks are overridden in the guise of a public emergency. Covid provides such a pretext. The notion that "antivaxxers" or whatever are allied with our global adversaries is yet another story using Covid to drive a division through our society. For that I smell a political rat. I smell a political, federal rat who's a little boy in charge. Who's daddy would slap his ass and send him to his room if he knew. To whit- "I admire their basic dictatorship". - "It's an opportunity for a reset." - "Antivaxxers are frequently racist mysoginist anti-science types." .... Nobody likes me either. It's ok. It's a good sign, really. It says I am not like you people. If you think when I say you people I mean you, that's on you. You put those boots on, Billy. Not me. 2. Why thanks. I am glad you realize that. As I recall you once gave me a warning point for "Image Trolling". Yes it still hurts.

Still there is no way to discuss esoteric knowledge without using some kind of metaphors. Today our most advanced mathematicians have raised interesting ideas about reality, such has Hologram theory. This reality we are in is a hologram that originates from highly complex information on a 2-d sheet. This is essentially at the boundary of the universe. Outside the boundary of the universe there is a uniform energy source coming in all directions, and this creates the illusion, in our minds, of 3-d space. I kid you not https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle Try reading that while having your morning cocoa ... Sounds like projector screen technology to me. These people are serious.

The billionaires who own the media do not like this upstart billionaire. It’s frightening to see how easily the general public is swayed to hold whatever opinion media moguls want them to believe. This despite what Elon Musk has achieved. Tesla, Space X, Starlink. And not even done yet. I love how Musk seems to purposely take them for a ride. Fight mass media manipulation with mass media manipulation.

It's a good question. Why god? The eternal why. Hard to second-guess the almighty. Or rather, how many universes have you created lately, and are they any better than this. ... it seems curious that those who do not believe in god, who may call themselves atheists are more willing to believe that reality is a computer simulation. We are scripts running in a 4-D video game on a supercomputer and the universe is actually a database. This is not far off from certain modern cosmological theories about reality. They postulate that reality might be a simulation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_hypothesis#In_physics "Economist Robin Hanson argues a self-interested occupant of a high-fidelity simulation should strive to be entertaining and praiseworthy in order to avoid being turned off or being shunted into a non-conscious low-fidelity part of the simulation." A pretty good argument for morality.

Vlad Poutin is the last, and finest of human grand chess-masters. From here on it's all Deep Blue moving the pieces around. Look at this one here- Russia suspending gas supplies to Poland, Bulgaria A few snippets, for those who do not habla- The governments of the two European Union and NATO members said Russian energy giant Gazprom informed them it was halting the gas supplies starting Wednesday. The suspensions would be the first since Russian President Vladimir Putin said last month that “unfriendly” foreign buyers would have to pay the state-owned Gazprom in rubles instead of dollars and euros. I like this part as well- If Gazprom suspends supplies to other countries, it could cause economic pain to Europe, causing gas prices to rise and possibly leading to rationing. Germany is particularly vulnerable due to its heavy dependence on Russian gas. Nice move. Queen to King's Level 1. The checkmate is inevitable.

You assign far more importance to him than I do. My opinion of him has only lowered during his leadership, and I dont consider myself partisan. At best I hate ‘em all equally. But I also can give credit where it’s due. There is nothing good to see here. Besides. You may join the others in espousing the political haute coutiere of today. I could add my voice to that, and you people would feel comfortable. Or we could have a conversation and think. Up to you

Russia is the photo-op de jour for Mr. Truduea. That is why, now all things Russian are anathema. Doesn't matter whether the person supports the war or not. You are Russian, you are a bastard. To be punished. Not for the outcome, but for the visibility of my virtue. Impotent though it may be... ask the Ukraine.

Seems to me the point of this story is to cast shade on the unvaccinated in Canada. You know, that cabal of misogynists and racists, many of whom are anti-science and taking up space. Now they are brainwashed by Russian propaganda as well. But hey, I guess if you’re a newspaper it’s one way to score some federal money! Laws, yes! We are being played alright but the real question is by who. Who is the man behind the curtain...
