You know more about him than I do. Canadians have fallen out of love with the PM, and this on valentine’s day. He’s just not that cute anymore. Similar convoy protests are taking place in other countries. Around the world, people on both sides of the political spectrum have fallen out of love with Mr. Trudeau. Link

Interesting point. Permanent state of war, eh? We are learning more and more about Mr. Trudeau's post-national state all the time.

You mean... other people's conspiracies, not yours, right? I mean of course, you wouldn't want to dismiss yourself. ... Better to engage than dismiss. Read Macchiavelli. That's the problem these days. Not Machiavellian enough.
-
Well apparently Bill Maher compared the Canadian government to nazis himself. Or is he not liberal enough anymore? He is also Jewish.

1. House of commins is good enough for me. House, institution. Building is pretty good. This is in comparison to citizen, person, being. One group calls out toward a symbol, the HOC, the PM. They demand changes to laws. Another group appears, in protest of the first group. Now it’s mano a mano. 2. Not if you block a bridge, apparently. We’ll see if it’s a human right to protest the Hill. They may well have the right to be there.
-
It’s amazing how much you can accomplish by doing nothing, isn’t it?
-
1. What is government? An INSTITUTION, doh. You know, like where they put yo mama? 2. Protesting the government should be a human right, protected by law. The individual has a right to speak to power. 3. People protest on the hill all the time. I myself did once, years ago. There’s special interest groups and rallies every day and on weekends. People come out for it, it’s part of the economy. They even have Obama cookies at the By-Ward market Bakery. I asked if they had any Trump cookies, but was told no. Then they gave me funny looks. Whole place is political, I tell you.

Why does the government and police allow them in? Because they themselves cant officially do anything about it. So send in the brown shirts.
-
You’ve abandoned your former position then? Reasonable/ non-conspiratorial.
-
It’s one thing for a group of protesters to protest against a building such as the HOC. Quite a different thing when you allow “counter protesters”. Now it’s man against man. Citizen against citizen. Another step toward incivility. The government has the capability of preventing this, but probably wants it. After all, what better premise to get rid if them if a riot breaks out? If the protesters refuse to be violent, all you gotta do is send in some people to stir things up a little.

All that through one little old bridge? Guess they didnt think that one through.

Good to know we have another common complaint then. Yes the immediate problem has to be dealt with immediately, it's an emergency. It's been two years of hiding and we did not solve the core issue. Health care system sucks. It sucked before, but now it really sucks. This perpetuates the emergency. So let's go, government. Let's see some god-damned action.
-
Right, so we have a common goal. Get rid of the restrictions. We don't know what will happen when we re-open, but let's assume you are right. Therefore the restrictions are a response to incapacity in the system. The responsible thing to do is address the problem at its core. I have not heard any serious plan from our government, it's not even in their general dialogue yet. After two years, billions in handouts, it's time to figure out how to live with the virus. Do something about the capacity of health care. Canada already has such a low capacity in the first place. Shutting down businesses to protect the health care system is like borrowing from Peter to give to Paul. And that, my religious friends, is not the way to go.

You should start a thread about that.

You're trivializing violent acts. The law indicates punishment for financial crimes is less severe than for crimes like arson physical violence. I agree with that in principle. By giving those protests a pass and acting immediately with aggression to the onset of this, the government/media machine indirectly condones incivility. The message is it's ok to light fires. But peaceful protest will be dealt with by hammer blows, if it hurts our wallet. All such pushback is countered by equal and opposite resistance. The more you prohibit, the more it goes underground. Like we saw with the funding, the government steps in and seizes the funds. There was $10M there, and would have gone higher. That's a lot of simoleons. It needs somewhere to go. What happens next is it goes underground. They move to a different server. Same thing again? Further underground. There's always a bank or a fund, that would want to help you protect your $10M. and counting, you say?.. hell yeah. The wise governor knows that people need to protest in a healthy democracy. Public protest should be a protected right. Why do these trucks offend them so? Let's just look at Ottawa. Why does it necessitate these statements, threats, and dirty tricks? Because they dare show their discontent, and they are doing it in a way that the government cannot easily get them. But they sure are trying, very very hard. It is these actions I am interested in just as much as the protest itself.
-
Government must respond to peaceful protests. At least listen. Else after a time protests will no longer be peaceful since people know they are otherwise useless. Trudeau's attitude and words provoke more violence. The change I am hoping for is to expose Mr. Trudeau as an empty charlatan and vote him out in an election as soon as possible.

As long as they’ve established there is a real problem that needs to be addressed, and this comes to the attention of Canadians, this is working. Like the new CPC broad said, “your message is being heard”. That’s success in itself. They are not being violent or destructive like we saw with BLM and antifa groups that were strangely more tolerated. They are portrayed by Trudeau as mostly white, old-school Canadians. There could be an element of reverse racism here, in a way.

There’s no doubt these pharmaceutical companies have made an absolute killing with their vaccines.

Actually it's called principles.

Yes, I know what you mean. Catholic...

"My poll" is not mine. It's from IPSOS/ Global news. Please take your concerns of misleading polls to them, not me.

He sounds like just another Pauline fascist.
