  1. Well, you are right. It really does come down to common sense. Teachers are parents as well, who support families and they are constantly upgrading their skills as any other professional and expect to be paid for their education and experience.
  2. This is a hollywood movie. Did you expect it to follow the bible? An interesting fact about this move is the woman who is pregnant with twins. There was no such mention of a woman in the bible. Kudos to the screenwriter for including a prominent woman in the storyline. We know how bible stories like to avoid prominent women.
  3. That is a big problem with foreigners being there to monitor the elections. Who do you trust when you can't even trust the very policemen who are there to protect you. Was this guy really a rogue or is he representative of the bigger picture.
  4. Religions today continue to seek out single parents with kids. I suppose they feel they are the most vulnerable and easier to indoctrinate and of course, they get the children involved.
  5. RoFo is a walking heart attack and he is still under investigation. The stress of running for Mayor, combined with the investigation and other stuff going on is certainly not good for his health. His days are numbered.
  6. I don't find the 13.5 per cent wage increase over three years unreasonable at all. In the private sector, in a professional capacity, you could expect at least that much. To expect to be paid a seven percent increase over 10 years, which is being offered by the BCPSEA seems quite low for a professional. If we want to attract good teachers to teach our kids, lets pay them a comparable wage that is being paid in the private sector for a professional. It's not about teachers being greedy. That statement is really painting a broad negative stroke against the teachers in BC. My kids went to school in BC. They certainly did not come across as greedy to me.
  7. Back to the original question of this thread. Was it worth it? Well, today a german journalist photographer and a canadian women were attacked by an afghanistan policeman that was supposedly protecting them with regards to the upcoming elections. The german died, the canadian women is in hospital and expected to survive. Sounds like this cop was rogue but who can anyone trust. And the attacks continue. Was it worth it? Good question?
  8. Gosh PIK, sounds like you are jealous. Seriously, you think that he feels he is god's gift to women and is so into himself. Can you come up with a more meaningful assessment about him. I'm not sure why you keep going on about him and his attraction to women with vagina's that have no brains. It is getting tiresome.
  9. A backing link to what? His experience as a pilot? His experience is not an opinion, it's EXPERIENCE. Unless of course, you think he is impersonating a pilot.
  10. I'm not sure that this argument fits with this Fort Hood shooting. Soldiers returning from war zones need access to mental health professionals and it sounds like this guy did. Unfortunately, he didn't get the help he needed in time to prevent this situation. He has left behind a wife and children to pick up the pieces and as far as I understand, the wife is supplying whatever information she can with regards to her husband. Although, if he did commit these crimes with a .45 smith wesson, how did he get it on base, although I'm sure it is probably quite easy if you have access to Fort Hood.
  11. I love anything johnny cash. My dad and grandfather used to play his music in the kitchen on friday nights! I remember my dad's vocals. Wonderful!!!
  12. I am sure this was beneficial to the conversation. Good on ya!
  13. good for you. you shut me down.
  14. well, apparently, they did not sign off 'good night'. they signed off as is typical. Wtf is the malaysian govt hiding?
  15. Well, whatever it means, it shut me down. I have no clue what it means.
  16. Seriously, what does this mean?
  17. I have no idea what you mean? What on earth am I guilty of? 'ad hominem fallacies' wtf does that mean?
  18. Seriously, are we at the point that we are going to drive around and judge whether folks deserve social services/housing because they drive and own a car (it could be a 20 year old car, but still, they are driving a car instead of taking public transit)?
  19. All I'm saying, is that Winnipeg would not have welcomed back the Jets without corporate sponsorship. I have no clue about Detroit.
  20. It's a stretch when you are talking at least 80 years! Give it a break.
  21. As I have said above, an NHL team would not survive in a city without corporate HO support. I am quite sure that Winnipeg would not have welcomed back the Winnipeg Jets without corporate sponsorship.
  22. Winnipeg now has an NHL team again! That is a good sign. NHL teams would not survive without Head Office presence in any city. I am glad that Winnipeg is on the rebound. I have been to Winnipeg on weekend conferences and I find the city very welcoming but a bit trepidatious for a woman! But on the whole, a wonderful city with great architecture!
  23. I agree that the idea is certainly not new. But you are going back to the 30's. Take a look at the lower mainland now in BC. You just cannot compare 2014 to the 30s. It is a stretch.
  24. Huh, You jumped in this thread well down the road. Perhaps you can engage in the discussion. Screw off.
  25. Argus, there are plenty of 'working poor' who are very good at managing income with very low wages and are doing extremely well given the circumstances. As far as other people making decisions for them, just where do you get off making statements like this.
