  1. I believe I did address the problem.
  2. Not sure what your problem is with me. But I assure you, I have no intention of harming anyone's reputation.
  3. Well, I don't speak for who you were responding to but I found it odd that you would respond with what you did.
  4. I had a conversation with Charles in chat and I found him to be quite open about this forum and open to suggestions. Perhaps your approach is all wrong.
  5. I don't know that he didn't say that. And why would I pretend that he did say that? That would be irresponsible on my part. And I wouldn't set out to discredit someone for no reason. If he didn't say that fine. I apologize. I misread his post. As far as me playing cutesy and shocked, that is very sexist. No wonder there aren't many women on this forum. And me being a weasel. that's a hoot!
  6. Yes, i saw the post you were responding to. Again, I don't understand the point you were making. Can you explain it further?
  7. Of course it's ok for you to go off topic when it suits you. I get that.
  8. I find direct personal insults to be quite frequent and I am astounded by the lack of respect for other members. 'dumbass local natives'. Hello!!! I believe that is a crass, derogatory comment made against a certain culture. Why would you even consider speaking like that. It's highly disrespectful and you wonder why you got suspended?
  9. I don't understand your point here. Why would anyone want to forget that and who cares? He does have a white parent but he clearly has black skin, and grew up with black skin, hence, he grew up as a black child, teenager, adult etc. He married a black woman, has 2 black daughters. So to say he his 'half' white is a bit silly.
  10. Excuse me, this has been discussed before?? Forgive me, I have forgotten that us folks on the west coast of BC like to chat and shoot the shit. Do you have anything against that?
  11. I can only agree with you there.
  12. How can you help women and children in Afghanistan? How do we measure risky missions?
  13. I also believe that women's work will be disregarded.
  14. I have to say that my deepest passion is for the women in Afghanistan and if everyone knew what the women battled against, it would break their hearts. President Hamid Karzai's government has let down Afghan women, according to the new EU ambassador to Kabul, who singled out the failure to end prosecution of rape victims and other abused women for "moral crimes" as a particular "disgrace". Franz-Michael Mellbin said that despite huge practical improvements in areas from maternal mortality to the number of girls in schools, Afghanistan was still one of the worst places to be a woman and a frontline in the global battle for women's rights. Many women believe this is happening because political interest in Afghanistan is fading in the west as troops head home. They fear that with the complete departure of foreign forces this year, conservatives will chip away faster at their rights or simply use them as a bargaining chip in peace talks with the Taliban. We can't let political interest fade away especially in Canada. We need to lead the way!
  15. Wonderful! I like this. Very balanced and thoughtful. I have a great sadness too but I do not live in Quebec although they are part of Canada. And in the end, I do not believe separation will happen. I think there is more passion in Quebec to stay within Canada than without.
  16. Good for you. I understand that. I will collect my thoughts. But in the meantime, I don't get why you don't have empathy for your french descendents. It is troubling to me.
  17. And a much more small area.
  18. I agree. It breaks my heart but I am always looking for solutions to this problem.
  19. You are asking folks to debate according to your terms of quebec politics but which is not necessarily according to terms of others. Are you the expertise of Quebec politics and those who follow Quebec politics?
  20. Who knows. Let's hope they find the passengers and crew soon. Let's move beyond the political landscape.
  21. However, I think there was political pressure on the chinese to give up satelite photos.
  22. A quote from Manley: "We are among the most privileged countries on earth. And with great privilege comes great responsibility. Sometimes you just have to do the jobs that you don't really want to do, because that's your responsibility." I feel that there is much more we can do for the women of Afghanistan, however, I am at a loss as to how we do that.
