My apologies Dobbin, those numbers are not the latest poll numbers from SES. Nanos's blog puts today's date on every page he has on his blog. Those numbers were from March/April of this year. The latest from SES-August 14/07 were: Harper: 31 Dion: 23 Layton: 18 Duceppe: 6 May: 5

Apologies---old poll.

Your constant reference to the popular support number is the wrong number to be looked at. The more important number is the popular number of the leader of that party, according to Nik Nanos, president and CEO of SES,the most accurate polling firm in Canada.

One place they're on the right track is in expense claims among prominent staffers. The voters this fall will love this aspect of the government.

Conservatives Appoint Binns Ambassador

Funny you look for anti-conservative messages in your articles and I find Liberal stuff. I like where Coyne says,Liberals have simple minded solutions to complex issues. When did the Liberals ever have any other kind of solution to anything? And how is Dion's simple green group going to convince the voters that any of these simple solutions will be attainable.Yes, the Puffin is a perfect mascot for the Liberals, hidden shit and all. -

It's too bad Liberal MP Todd Russell doesn't put his brain in gear before he begins to roar. But that can be expected by the Liberals who are trying so desperately to gain some kind of credibility but never will, with their record of patronage appointments in the past. The media that didn't bother to question his babbling of false facts before presenting the story, should also be chastised for being caught up in a story that isn't factual. Will Russell correct his errors? Somehow I don't think so. Ex-ambassador says he wasn't forced out of Irish post Grits slam appointment of ex-premier as ambassador to Ireland -
If that's acceptable to call Harper, Steve, then "Stephie" would be acceptable to call Dion. yes?

N.L. announces $16B Hebron oilfield deal!
Canuck E Stan replied to NovaScotian's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Danny Williams: You're the man How much will this "deal" cost Newfoundland in the end? Yup,Dan's the Man. Being a memorandum of understanding (the precise terms are still to be negotiated) this deal hasn't been written in stone ,yet. Let's see what it's like after he gets re-elected in the fall. -

I guess you're the expert on this deal and those in the know aren't, congratulations on your superiority over people who know oil deals. -

You also said this was a "superior" deal and in reality as those who know said, they would be hard pressed to identify significant differences. Hardly something to call "superior" in a deal. Exxon could have asked for the moon, but asking is not part of the deal, and has no relevance to the final deal. The actual deal as it was made is still insignificant to what was on the table 18 months prior. Williams can claim what he wants,as you have, but what he gained was still insignificant according to those who know. Hardly something that could be called superior as you have, or even worthwhile to delay for 18 months to get "roughly what was there before" Did I mention that this deal is hardly significant to the one worked on 18 months prior? -

The agreement today, according to those that do know, say they are "hard-pressed to identify significant differences between the new deal and the one the two sides walked away from last year." -

Williams was right to hold off? Superior deal? Some didn't think so. Hebron deal gives observers déjà vu -

So you believe some illegals who do the same thing this guy does by hiding out in a church, but with this guy,you think he is a liar,no benefit of the doubt,no second chance, just be the judge and jury and kick him out. Funny how most lefties can't come out and say, "Kick him out!" They would rather abstain from making a comment, especially when it tends to be a view that they feel is right wing. Being silent is better than (forbid that I should) agree with a "right wing" view. PO'd that all agree with me?....and what is my side on this? -
That was sort of my point. What would happen in the case of immigrants marrying multiple people in order to bring them into the country? The rights of these individuals wanting to have multiple or incestuous marriages would have to be protected by law, how would that occur without refusing them their right to marry?

Canuck E Stan replied to Canuck E Stan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The bleeding hearts who want other illegals who always make a similar stay in churches,or those illegals who have a sad tale to tell, to be allowed to stay in this country. How come not one person on this forum has come to the defense of this man? What makes him different? How is it that the government is giving him the boot so quickly while many other illegals are still here, many years after being told to leave? Where are all the posters who talk about the poor and downtrodden on this site day in and day out, telling us about how the government and society does so little for these people. Where are these individuals defending this illegal?
