  1. Most of the cars and trucks Canadians make for Chrysler go to the U.S., although the price will help somewhat. The answer is to build cars that the consumer wants. Chrysler makes too many vehicles that actually compete with itself, that's why models are being taked off the line and hence the layoffs.
  2. From a letter to the editor, And he's right.......I think?
  3. Sorry you feel that way, most of what you write I do read because I like an American perspective to our politics. But why would you start a thread that you admit probably isn't even true, and has nothing to do with Canadian Federal Politics?
  4. It will only get worse for the CAW. What Buzz doesn't say is that those announcements may be quite positive and from Toyota, and it's expansion plans. Toyota pays it's workers more money than Buzz's CAW bunch receives from the big three. I would suggest that Buzz tell GM,Ford, and Chrysler to get back to the drawing board and design and build cars like the ones that Toyota builds. The cars they can't build fast enough for the consumer who are want them.
  5. Got lots of pride.....where does the "Canadian Federal Politics" come into play for this "nice story"? Wrong venue for your "nice story"..... a "nice story" forum is where it belongs.
  6. ....and why is this "nice story" on the Canadian Federal Politics Forum? Should be removed.
  7. I agree with you on the the "economy does matter" and as it gets better with the loonie surging and prices of goods dropping, the credit will be given to the politicians, especially if the Spring budget gives the votes some more tax breaks. At the same time, the Tories new ads showing Dion wanting to raise the GST,I believe will have an effect on Dion and push his effectiveness as a leader further into the sewer.
  8. With the left vote being split three or four ways,39% may well be all that is needed to have a minimum majority.
  9. I personally believe sometimes polls are taken too early from an announcement like this. People can be slow, and unless you really know what was announced, not spoon feed by the pollster,it just might not have been understood totally by those being polled. Dion's "I'll raise the GST" won't hit home for a couple of weeks in the polls. How popular will that be?
  10. Never said it was the latest......yes, the Tories are the same at 39%,from 4 days previous....still 11% over the Liberals......but for the Liberals 1% up from 27% this could be considered major. Congratulations should go out to the Liberals and Dion on their big come-back boost in the polls.
  11. Tories (39%) Find It Hard To Break Majority 40% But Continue Strong March In Quebec (30%) I don't see the Liberals with Dion getting back into the game any time soon.
  12. Dion GST remark stuns fellow Grits Will he even make it to the next election? I'm getting to think maybe not.
  13. Sure fooled everyone here
  14. I think it is the Liberal party that should be thanking Dion for being the leader for the past year and wish him much luck in his future endeavours outside of Liberal leadership politics. Thanks for the memories.....
  15. The GST is the greatest example of a credibility chasm between "experts" and the people Thank you Sheila.
  16. And who paid for this miscarriage of justice.....the Liberal party? or was it the taxpayer.....as usual with the Libs.
  17. What is the point about having to be under the influence that makes it necessary to have this drug. Why not trying to abstain from any and all kinds of drug/alcohol? You should be advocating no usage of any kind of drugs or alcohol. Advocating for any kind drug/alcohol use tells me you have issues in your life that need addressing. You gave up your own life when you began to live for cannabis, you've been dead since. Happy Halloween Shavluk.
  18. Getting Over Kyoto May Kyoto and it's advocates get over it's death.
  19. Is Dion? Is anybody else in the world? These authors say this is the best way,and I'm sure money will be spent by the Tories for this purpose. Instead of putting the pooper scooper behind the dead dog and waiting for something to happen as Dion is doing, the Tories know that Kyoto really is a dead dog and pulling it around by the lease won't make it come back to life. Time to bury it,give up on dogs, and get a cat.
  20. Time to ditch Kyoto It's time for Kyoto to roll over and die, and all the wishful thinking by Dion and the left to bring it back to life will never happen. Harper's on the right track with the environment and the Canadian people know that Kyoto is finished, and it's time to move on.
  21. Larry,Curly and Moe in a coalition?
  22. So what important name to the day would you recommend? Or is it even important enough to care? Christmas and Good Friday, I see as being two holiday names that will eventually be protested as being too religious in their calling and being changed to suit those that dislike any connection to religion. Maybe something more "earthy" like Green Earth Day, or Water and Air Day would be better than naming a holiday after someone or some religious event.
  23. Family Day has existed in Alberta for 17 years already,it's purpose to give everyone a long weekend in Febuary between the Jan.1st holiday and the Good Friday(when will they decide to rename this one?) holiday.McGuinty's declaration of Family Day is long in coming for Ontario.I'm sure the people of Alberta are thankful for this family break in the middle of winter. It does allow "family" in particular those with children, to enjoy a day together......unless of course you either don't care about your family or don't ever take a day off from your usual routine, then maybe naming it after someone will make you feel it becomes more important to have a holiday.
  24. Forget Trudeau Day, let's celebrate GroupAction Day once a year by going to restaurants around the country and leaving money filled envelopes for each other.
  25. JD, Doesn't appear to be the right link.
