  1. On this day of giving thanks for all we have, I say let us acknowledge the turkeys in Ottawa for all that they have done to make this country what it is.
  2. What you want is the "ideas" of the the Liberal party, those that remain in the Liberal "idea" policy paper for years and never get implemented because the Liberals are too busy being in power. Where is the new policy platform? Like a true Liberal, even you are ready to support them without knowing what they are. First we must get the power. Sorry, but August hit the nail on the head,Liberals are only there for the power.
  3. I too hope he has a full recovery......Gosh,I didn't even know Chretien had a heart.
  4. -Toronto StarLiberals' national director alleges party defamed him Oh,oh! more bitter battles to come between high ranking Liberals. This is not going to help the Liberal cause. Hiring a Quebecer.....to represent Quebec, that might help. But what about hiring people from the Chinese community to represent the Chinese community?
  5. I'm undecided.....give me 3 seconds to think about it. Okay,I've decided already. Harper.Conservatives.All the others suck. Dominated by posters supporting one party? No poster domination here, more like forums that are dominated by one party postings.
  6. To you I have three stars, to me I have five. Much like the Liberal leader Dion,I know I'm great, if only others could see how great.
  7. As a member of the exclusive five star club, let me just say the best way to achieve stardom is to keep your nose to the political grindstone and maybe someday you shall reap all the special benefits of this very exclusive club.
  8. Let's All Hate Toronto-The Movie Only city I know that has a movie about people hating it.
  9. Dion refused to fire Caroll over his remarks....who's the real village idiot, Dion or Carroll? Not looking good for either one of them. Dion backs aide under fire for alleged remarks about Quebec
  10. Big difference back then. There was an alternative party for the right wing voters back then. You're a dreamer if you think Alberta would ever vote in a party that's left-wing, especially one that has another leader from Quebec.
  11. I too, am Canadian. -Nice piece Argus.
  12. Harper's infringing on the Natural Governing Party's way of doing politics........it's not fair.
  13. Liberal rift widens as members criticize Dion and a top aide First Marc Garneau, now Paul Leduc. Add to that Jamie Carroll the Liberals' national director and one of the key players in Dion's leadership victory, who remarked that if he hired more Quebecers, then he'd have to hire more Chinese, and you have a Liberal leader who has just can't win for being a loser.
  14. The best way for an author to sell books is by getting free publicity. Causing a little stink in the media will achieve that goal. It becomes an awareness of the author factor. In the media today,a Tom who?, tomorrow. It worked for Mulroney a couple of weeks ago and has worked for many other writers in helping sell more books. Flannigan is no different. He's getting free advertising throughout the media for his book and in turn will be richer because of it.
  15. One has to be really stupid to think an outfit that advocates for climate change would put a poll out saying Canadians are not interested in saving the environment. The reputable polling agency is a business, and they like to get paid for what they do. If Toyota wants a poll done to determine that people like Toyota over GM,do you think the pollsers don't know how to ask the "right" questions to get the right numbers? This is not the media looking for answers to one of their polls. What were the actual questions as asked in the poll? And how many questions were asked....and how many were used? And the Liberal connection?
  16. Just as Dion was using Harper's UN visit to prepare a statement on the environment(and blew it),this poll survey was conducted on behalf of the Ottawa-based environmental group Climateforchange.ca, which is run by veteran environmentalist John Bennett. It too was used as a statement to be made while Harper was at the UN. The poll was conducted on Aug. 15-21,a poll that by all logic should have been issued on August 22 and not a month later. And who are this group of environmentalists who have conducted a poll that by all indications have answers to questions(what were these questions?) they asked. Well one political pundit thinks he knows who is behind this concerned environmental group. Just how closely connected are ClimateForChange.ca and the federal Liberal Party? Is this a poll worth noting? Not this one by a long shot.
  17. What do liberals stand for?-The Gazette Liberal civil war has officially started-Copps With a fall election coming, the Liberals have little time to get their "team" together, and a lot of work to tell Canadians what they stand for. What do they stand for anyway?
  18. Based on what I have seen, none of them.Too much baggage from their past. Gerald Kennedy, on the other hand is from a younger generation, and shows the greatest promise with the least amount of baggage. He's the best choice for a Liberal Party that wants to call itself "new".
  19. And what should the penalty be for someone like you who has never voted, but seems to think it's a privilege to have that right?
  20. Who was complaining? Names. I want names. Who are these "losing bidders" and "complainers"you keep referring to?
  21. .....and these losing bidders would be, who? And what would their complaint be? I suspect this just another of Dobbin's wishful thinking posts......again.
  22. mikedavid(zero zero?) a graduate of the real school of zero? What zero contribution to the forum.
  23. Although Mulroney ended up being an unpopular politician, your choice of the word "disgrace" in the title of this thread has no basis and is strickly a personal view. Like the Liberals after him you are attempting to tag the man with innuendos without a shread of proof. The RCMP have cleared the man of the Liberal made "scandal",what evidence do you have that the RCMP doesn't have? The Liberals were forced to apologise for their mistakes and pay big time. The forum's moderators should have stricken this partisan label "disgraced" from the title,it has no basis.I'm disappointed that they feel it's not objectionable. Richard Nixon was a politician who was "disgraced".Mulroney was unpopular, but never "disgraced". You forget how the Liberals who were against all the unpopular programs that Mulroney brought forth are now the staunchest advocates of those programs. Will the Progressive Conseratives ever be in power again? Of course not, they don't exist any longer. On the other hand, the Conservative Party of Canada has a very rosey future, as long as the Liberals have Dion as leader.
  24. Simple challenge when it's right under your nose. Best PM: Harper ahead of Martin by five points Then there was the leadership competency back in early December. Osprey News Network-December 6, 2005 Oh,oh! And from Quebec, today,Dion really seems to be in trouble with the by-elections coming up.Oh,oh. Liberals under gun in Quebec
