  1. Conservatives put out fire over Tamil comments Jan.20 2006 I think your got it arse-backwards.
  2. Good. Perhaps you'll take back the link of the left to Paul Bernardo as well. It is an odious one to the say least and I doubt you have any citation of the left's compassion for the man at all when it comes to keeping him in jail. Maybe we could also get an apology from you too or does pissing on the families of dead soldiers still seem to be an appropriate way to express yourself about others?
  3. Multiculturalism in Canada......you get to bring your ideas and your culture with you with the blessing of the country.
  4. A government bureaucrat sat at the table after breakfast one morning, engrossed in his newspaper for over an hour. Finally he asked for another cup of coffee. "Coffee" echoed his wife."But look at the time. Aren't you going to the office today?" "Office?"exclaimed the startled man."Gees! I thought I was at the office."
  5. In all probability they won't even come close, but at a $1.75 a vote this party is in for easy government money.
  6. I think the first thing these guys have to do is change the name of their party. It just might get confused with another party with the same name.... The National Alliance Party .....but maybe that would be a good thing.
  7. I think this is the article you're looking for....it comes from AIMS. That's the group you said is only good in small doses. So I guess we should take the facts with a grain of sea salt. Subsidies to Atlantic Canada.
  8. It appears some from the Atlantic provinces think they are responsible for the success of the west. novanewsnow editorial
  9. Sask.'s equalization challenge uphill battle: law prof This fight will go years beyond the provincial election that Premier Lorne Calvert is expected to call for the fall.
  10. What do we get in Alberta for doing it ourselves? A pat on the back for cutting spending, but really sitting on the worlds largest oil and gas deposit doesn't hurt either. And what's sitting in the ocean off the Maritimes besides seaweed?
  11. All of them are have-not provinces. The Maritimes is in the money now, and by rights should be paying their own way and not receive anything. The same way as Alberta and Ontario who give and do not receive any equalization money.
  12. A perspective from a different view makes for interesting thought. I welcome it. After all Canada is a multicultural nation. I wish there was more from other people in other countries.
  13. I see the provincial governments taxing the individual heavily in order to get it's money. The point about the constitutional amendment to abolish equalization, why isn't there a consitutional amendment required to give the Maritime provinces the rights to off shore resources. Shouldn't all Canadians be represented and have a say in this Federal giveaway?
  14. Not really,Ontario is just wanting to keep some of it's own "have province" cash in their own province instead of sending it to the formally "have not provinces" in Maritimes.
  15. David MacKinnon Remedy idea? Might be an option to consider.
  16. Okay how about another think tank from Nova Scotia-The Atlantic Institute for Market Studies. New accord broken in Nova Scotia's favour: AIMS
  17. All the while his demands from the oil companies are preventing any of them from starting work in getting the Atlantic oil. As costs escalate in recovering the oil, the less likelyhood they will invest just to battle icebergs and harsh Atlantic waters anytime soon. Easier and cheaper to go elsewhere. Danny will stubbornly wait and so will the prosperity for the Newfoundland people. Maybe the next premier will be wiser.
  18. And Dion is what?..... a Catholic, do you dispute that? Weren't there Liberals who also opposed these positions? I could buy a a new house in 1980 for $68,000, and a loaded Chev Caprice for $6,879.00, and I did.
  19. Senate bashing may revive Tories With the media in Ontario giving support to Harper's stand on the Accord issue, you can bet voters there will be really pissed with Dion and the Liberal Senators. Watch for an upward surge in the polls for Harper.
  20. I've heard that Saskatchewan had cheap auto insurance and maybe they do. But one person from there told me that registration of a car was $700 dollars. With fees like that maybe car insurance shouldn't be the only thing one should look at when evaluating auto costs.
  21. Liberal senators may defy Dion on budget bill So here's Dion unable to control Liberal senators in the Red Chamber.Says a lot for his leadership. What happens then? Harper can go to the GG and say he can't govern under these conditions, and request that an election be called. So here we go again. Dion is definitely not ready for Prime Time with most in the country saying he's not a leader. An election call at this time will finish him off as Liberal leader. And to top it off, there will be a renewed displeasure with the Senate. The Conservative ads on the Senate will have done their job. Bring it on!
  22. The premier's provincial party affiliation isn't relevant. How will the Liberals deal with Saskatchewan,Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, today's issue? They sure aren't telling, easier to just bitch about the conservatives. The question will be raised, and Dion will have to give a straight answer on what he would do in this situation. I'll put it to you, what would he do? So far he isn't telling.
  23. Where's the Liberal Stand on the Accord? Oh here it is! Dion and the Accord Bitchin' about the Conservatives' stand on the Accord, but trying to fool Saskatchewan,Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, into thinking they would do it differently.
  24. Alberta by-elections: The fallout Taft better watch himself as much as Ed, he's been a failure too. Craig just might be a leader to give the provincial Liberals some more seats from Calgary.
  25. name='hiti' date='Jun 14 2007, 02:03 PM' post='228658'] Kyoto was signed in 98 more than 9 years ago. Who had a majority government? Must have been a very effective opposition. Signed in 98....Majority government for three elections. Inaction? you bet. You're making it sound like Chretien was even calling the shots in Paul Martin's 3 year term as Prime Minister. It isn't Baird who's committing a lie of omission. Doing a lot of bending of facts here dude.
