  1. A man and his alligator walk into a Ottawa bar near Parliament Hill and the man asks, "Does this bar serve corrupt Liberal politicians?" "Of course we do," replied the bartender. "Great," said the man, "I'd like a beer... and get a corrupt Liberal politician for my gator."
  2. Let's use the $30 million to get rid of Corporations and Mike Harris. Then we could use it to get rid of Mike Harris and the Corporations. Or how about we get rid of Big Business and Mike Harris.Seeing as they are the cause of all the problems in this country, if we spend all $30 million on getting rid of the problem of Corporations and Mike Harris everything should be better.
  3. Pocket, So Pocket, you voted Reform(a couple of times to boot) to send a message to the Big Three Parties that you voted for someone other than the traditional parties. Wow,sounds like you voted for all the right reasons. Now the very important reason you won't vote for the Conservatives is because Harper doesn't have any charisma. I'm starting to see why some are saying voters in Ontario are stupid.
  4. Just curious how this works with registered members numbers... We have 1198 registered members The newest member is real wiseman politika joined on November 17 05 and his number is 1327, much higher than the registered number. The newest registered member is the 1198 member, what will his number be? Sorry, but I'm confused about how and why the numbering system here is not in some kind of order. Or is it? Can anybody help me here?
  5. PocketRocket, What a wonderful inspiring thought, said from a person who feels "charisma" is the number one important requirement for someone to be leader of his country.
  6. The Green Party is relevent to a lot of people and are mentioned by the media as a party in their news stories because they did get 6% of the vote last time around. They are behind the NDP in popular vote. I can vote for the Greens, I can not vote for the PQ. Your poll does not enable the Greens to become a minority or majority party on your list like the PQ on your list. Placing them in "other" does not distinquish then from "other" parties or show potential influence they may have on the vote taken. The Greens could very well cause government change even if they win only one seat.
  7. The Green Party was listed on my ballot at the last election as it was in most places. It recieved 6% of the popular vote. It was not a write in party. You need to learn more about the parties that represent your country before making lists as you did on this poll.
  8. But you did offend by not having the Green Party on your list.
  9. Once again you "TALK" about demands, I want to know "HOW" the NDP "PLAN" to implement the healthcare to total public healthcare that now has so much private healthcare in it and "HOW" the NDP "PLAN" to stop or remove the private healthcare that presently exists. Not "TALK" show me the "PLAN"
  10. The catch words in your statement is "fixing what's broken". You're right, the Liberals solution to fixing any problem is to throw money at the problem. Billions gone into Healthcare-no fix, billions gone into Aboriginal problems-no fix,Billions into gun registry-no fix on crime, and on ond on it goes. There is no Plan from these guys to tackle the problems, only throwing cash at the problems to extend it into the future. The trouble with Jack is that's all he's good at doing and that's "talking about fixing the broken things". How is he going to fix public healthcare when more than 25% of the population(Quebec and BC) already has private healthcare? He wants private healthcare removed from the provinces that presently have it. How does he plan to do that, what are the consequences of trying to force provinces to stop private healthcare? What is his "plan"?
  11. Preparations election machines revved to go Reading the National on this story about the parties getting ready for the election,I found a lot of info on the Liberals and especially the NDP side of the preparations to the election, but whoever the reporter covering the Conservatives was didn't do much work. That was it for the Conservatives in the whole article, even the PQ got more space. Bias,or lack of good reporting? I'm sure there could have been more about some of the Conservative candidates running, or about who is running the media campaign.
  12. http://www.cbc.ca/wonderland/ American Woman If you didn't know yet. Third Season Premieres Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 8:00 p.m.
  13. Rip Van Eureka, This is 2005. Wake up and smell the LIberals.
  14. Your right, the Liberals should have come clean with the taxpayers back in the spring and told the taxpayers how much $$ they have to work with. But remember these are Liberals, accountable to no one except Liberals. Layton was very naive last spring, thinking he had an edge on the Martin by demanding a mere $4.5 billion for some petty stuff he wanted. The Liberals back then made it appear that they were doing something extraordinary for poor Jack, all the while laughing at his stupidity in propping up them up for only $4.5 billion. The Liberal stash of tax money is enormous but like true Liberals they kept it hidden and out of sight from anyone.after all it's their money, they collected it. Look at the budget in the spring $80 billion, yesterday's mini budget $40 billion. Amazing all this cash suddenly appears , and I'm sure there's much more under the mattress. Has Jack learned anything from all this? Maybe. He's just pissed off now and will do anything to Martin for making him look stupid,so pissed he's ready to call Harper his new best friend.
  15. Q: How many NDPers does it take to change a light Bulb? A: At least ten, as they will need to have a discussion about whether or not the light bulb exists. Even if they can agree upon the existence of the light bulb they still may not change it to keep from alienating those who might use other forms of light. Q:How many NDPers does it take to change a light bulb? A:None. NDPers wouldn’t actually change the light bulb, but they would show compassion for it by talking a lot about how terrible it is in the dark and more funding is needed to improve dim, 60 watt bulbs up to bright and productive 100 watt bulbs. How many unionized workers does it take to change a light bulb? Fourteen. One to give the bulb to the screw-inner. One to screw in the bulb. One to hold him on the step ladder. Four to hold the step ladder steady. One to flick the switch to test the bulb. One to make sure that the other bulbs in the room will need fixing. One to supervise. Two to take a coffee break, one to eat lunch, and one to nap.
  16. Shoop, The point I was making is that as a Canadian, ALL government jobs in ALL regions of the country should be open to ALL Canadians, not just in the Ottawa/Hull area.As a Canadian if you are the best qualified candidate and you want to move to another region of the country, the government should consider you for that position. here's an example,( from JOBS.GC.CA) the government needs a Shellfish Technician in Vancouver- Just graduated from university on the east coast at the top of your class with loads of experience, and would love to move to Vancouver? Sorry, being outside the region and possibly not a visible minority, you don't get to even apply for the job. Ottawa/Hull is only the largest area for government positions. The rest of the country has them too.The government only encourages regionalism with this kind of selective hiring. And as noted by others,do they really get the best value for the position.
  17. Damn, I was hoping we would get the election results before everyone cast their vote.
  18. Is the Government still doing the Postal Code bit? You bet! Jobs open to the Public Jobs in your region excludes the rest of Canada....unless they are hard pressed to find anyone in your regiion. E.G. Communications Officer(80 kilometers of Calgary)
  19. Eureka, Finally you acknowledge what you are by coming out of the closet....feel better about it now?
  20. Your CCF/NDP dictionary has steered you wrong ERR, here are some real world definitions of low-life: n. pl. low·lifes also low·lives (-lvz) A person of low social status or moral character: Slang Definition: A person with bad habits or a questionable lifestyle; someone who doesn't amount to much in society. You tell these "low-lifes" that their low social status "refers more to a mental state of being than a fiscal one...", I'm sure the CCF/NDP membership would love to hear how you define of a good portion of their members.
  21. Shoop, You are sooooooo right, it was printed for low lifes and it does appeal to them because at one time the NDP used to be a party that cared for the low lifes but under Jack Layton has changed to being the National DeBonk Party. Err has forgotten that the NDP roots were the low lifes and not the "grass"roots.
  22. Quebec healthcare reforms A legislative proposal on private care in the Quebec Assembly...NEXT MONTH...that's really going to put a wrench in the healthcare issue for Martin if he calls the election in December. This will make healthcare a non election issue if the media plays up the Quebec proposal, and possibly make it difficult for the NDP in it's attempt to make healthcare an election issue as well. How will Martin explain "punishing" Alberta for their proposals and not Quebec. I think Canadians outside of Quebec will question Martin on his government's promises on healthcare and the government's lack of anything workable for Canadians. Enough, just very well may be enough, to get Martin to lose support to the Conservatives or get those who want public only healthcare to vote for the NDP. I see a lot of ridings where Liberals won on a narrow victory last election losing this time, if those votes go to the NDP instead of the Liberals. The Conservatives might just pull it off.
  23. Jack's NDP hates us working folks What ever happened to the NDP of yesterday?
  24. Seven Point CAW plan Union leaders also endorsed a seven-point action plan 1. a no-concessions stance. 2. early discussions between management and labour in the face of financial crises. 3. a refusal to handle parts from companies which have outsourced some of their work. 4. a fight for a fair-trade policy. 5. pension and retirement protection in the wake of bankruptcy filings. 6. increased efforts to organize non-union plants. and of course.... 7.increased government assistance for financially plagued companies Many items that show they how much they are willing to sacrifice in order to keep their jobs. And of course more hand-outs from the government....again.... and again.
  25. Exactly, the big three are building over there even Cadillac is building in China. In time it will be the big three cars that will be imported to NA. Just like all the other NA manufacturing products we used to build in NA(cameras, typewriters, stereos,TVs,ect.) the auto will be another item foreign made. Appliances made in Ontario,is the next to go foreign(Mexico) after Inglis was recently bought out by a US company that does all their washer and dryer work in Mexico. Even the lowly cigarette work is being shipped to Mexico and costing Ontario 550 jobs. Why would the auto be any different? We did nothing to save these other goods when there were made in Canada. What Canada needs is a Canadian made auto, made for Canada and not a US subsidiary made vehicle or a foreign branch auto manufacturing plant. Even countries like Brazil are producing their own auto. The government has to help in the developement of a Canadian auto and not keep putting $$ into Foreign manufacturing plants. We need vehicles that are fuel efficient,anti-corrosive and less reliant on oil.
