  1. See no evil, Hear no evil, and especially speak not about the evil.
  2. Sorta like being forced to paying dues to a union that you don't want to belong to, who in turn puts the dues money into a politcal party you don't support. Real democratic freedom of choice kinda stuff, isn't it?
  3. When you can't make it as a lawyer, go into politics.
  4. fellowtraveller, Your right about this ruling,it's called the Rand Formula of 1945. The Rand Formula
  5. Free the Lively Seven Why are there no rights to NOT join unions?
  6. Do you write soap operas in your spare time?
  7. If Belinda followed the wished of her constituents (who voted for her as a conservative, not a Liberal) she would have taken a position of an independent and left her constituents to vote in the next election for her as a Liberal. Calling yourself an NDPer I suspect you know even less about the NDP platform. Based on your posts in the past, spewing negatives about the other parties is the NDP platform.
  8. Eureka, You're beginning to make me sick. You're perpetual references to Mulroney and the corrupt Conservatives of(when, how long ago?) as an excuse for the Liberals to also be allowed to be corrupt is pathetic. So what you are saying is that Liberals have to be watched because they don't have the ethics to control themselves. Don't be so stupid, the Liberals won their election on the basis of the promise to get rid of the GST. Once in, they realized they were wrong about the GST? Bullsh*t,they used the GST to get in power and lied, lied, lied to the voters to win that election. The intelligence part was fooling the public into believing their intentions, then denying they made a promise about the GST that was a lie. Where was the Liberal intelligence prior to the election about the GST? Give me a break,a billion dollars a little awry? Grow up man, it's called mismanagement. They f*cked up big time...again. And there you are proud of the watch dog institutiion the Liberals created.Once again stating that the Liberals NEED a watch dog because they are unable to manage themselves. And you are right, having a watch dog telling them they are corrupt and out of control has become a Liberal institution time and time again. Considering that the Liberals have been governing this country for the last 14 years you must have sand between your ears if you feel that the conservatives have done anything in failing the taxpayers of this country in the last 20 years. The Liberals have been in power for how many fo the last 50 years? Why stop at Mulroney,go back to Diefenbaker as an excuse for the way the Liberals are today. How much longer do Canadians have to wait til they turn professional and give up their amateur governing status? The Conservatives of the Mulroney era have paid the price when they were brought down to 3 seats in government. You keep making excuses for this party of corruption, unaccountable, waste and mismangement as being the way they are because of the Conservatives of 15 years ago and because of trivial little mistakes. Support your party, but give up on the lame excuses, and admit the Liberals have big problems caused by their own incompetence.
  9. Maybe they didn't die but just evolved. From the party with a horn to a horny party New CanadianSEX Party
  10. So why did your fearless leader of stage and screen....Pot.Tv, give up on the legalization of the weed? Maybe, just maybe it was a "too hot-button issue" so he backed off to the decriminalization aspect, so he could Bongo Jack plays the political game very much like everybody does on the hill. He'll toke one over the line if he thinks someone might vote for him.He guessed wrong on the legalization aspect, now the NDP big boys are pulling him in.
  11. The manager of a large government department noticed a new man one day and tells him to come into his office. "What is your name?" was the first thing the manager asked him. "John," the new guy replied. The manager scowled, "Look, I don't know what kind of a namby-pamby place you worked at before, but I don't call anyone by their first name. It breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority. The taxpayers of this country are tired of the way this government is being run. They want accountability, they want transparency, they want serious work done here. From now on I will refer to my employees by their last name only - Smith, Jones, Baker - that's all. I am to be referred to only as Mr.Argus. Now that we got that straight, what is your last name?" The new guy sighed and said, "Darling. My name is John Darling." "Okay, John, the next thing I want to tell you is..."
  12. Although I would agree that real estate prices might be part of it,I think there is more to it than real estate prices. If real estate prices were the sole cause, Vancouver, who's prices have risen about 5.7 per cent annually during the last 18 years would be at the bottom of the list instead of Toronto.
  13. Canadian Business magazine unveils its fourth annual ranking of the best Second last city on the list is Montreal. Two very Liberal cities that need an infusion of Liberal $$$$ to perk them up. Paul may have some problems here if he doesn't come through. Your thoughts on Toronto's poor business ratings.
  14. No Snoozin for Senator NDP's Broadbent unveils federal ethics plan More reforms like these especially involving the PM's power would be very refreshing in this "one man rule" country. Let's see who really wants to cure the democratic deficeit when the vote on this bill comes forward.
  15. Since some are already requesting ministerial positions, I don't want to be left out. We had Unemployment Canada, then we had Employment Canada. I would like to be considered for the "new" department of Under Deployment Canada in Kimmy's government. This department would eliminate the need for Immigration,Employment and Public Service departments in the present government.Think of the cost savings! As minister of Under Deployment I would take care of new immigrants coming into Canada, make sure they have jobs by applying new immigrants to every contract that our government hands out. This includes advertising contracts. The more money the governmet hands out in a contract the more immigrants the company would be required to hire. We in Under Deployment Canada would make sure that the government gets value for taxpayer money and at the same time create work for our new immigrants while reducing our unemployment numbers.Isn't this an exciting concept! Look for more details in two or three months on our web site.
  16. Argus, I think this is the problem of the DART unit not getting to the destination sooner. I believe all these excuses about whether to send DART or not is because the truth is, the government has to request for the Chartered Ukrainian Antono 124 from the private company that owns it and it takes a week for the plane to be available to the government for service. The same thing happened last December. How many more times are we going to shell out mega bucks to this company (SKYLINKS?) before we get our own plane that will be available to the government immediately. It's like owning a trailer and having to rent a vehicle everytime you want to take it somewhere. Makes no sense.
  17. Better to consult Viking on kyoto A worthwhile read.
  18. Ahh, so the NDPers are a closet communists.
  19. Expect more of it, because it will be the same old, same old. You can't vote PQ,so your choices are down to the NDPers or the Greens.
  20. I'm still waiting for a response to my e-mail, I think your quarantee isn't worth much. And where is their "new" decriminalization instead of legalization page? Why have they changed their stance? I think your "right to change slightly over the years" is hardly a "slight" change in opinion. There is a big difference between these two concepts. If Jack changes his mind, like a good little NDPer, do you also change yours? Or do you stand up for your convictions and demand legalization? Do you ever disagree with Jack or the NPD? Yes Err,Jack is the best.... Jack's just the same as any politician, this bong master will do and say anything to get votes....
  21. .....that's it? Eighteen minutes on POT.TV talking about Legalization and this is it? What happened to the LEGALIZATION he spoke about on POT.TV? Where are all the details he promised to produce 3 months after the show? Big difference from talking about Legalization and claiming to having a lot of details about how it would work, then ending up supporting decriminalization like most. Jack and the NDP are no different than any of the other politicians.Say anything to get a vote. Disappointed response.
  22. The lighter side of federal politics Stick it To Him. 387,597 packs of gum,but is it enough to burst the Liberal's bubble(gum)
  23. Liberal government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it.
  24. For your interest A little bit from what I know of Dephi, GM had a plant in Windsor known for years as the Trim plant(made interiors for their cars). Gm was trying desperately to close this plant(sometime in the early 80's?) and out source the work. The Union(UAW before becoming CAW) wasn't going to let it happen. Eventually with GM's help and $$ support, Dephi took over the plant with the union still in place. As most articles state about the reasons for Dephi demise, high cost of labour ect., Dephi just couldn't do it, precisely for the same reason General Motors wanted to dump the plant in the first place. I believe other plants under the Dephi banner in Ontario were also part of GM,although I don't know of those. In the contract just signed, GM Canada workers on production will make $35 an hour at the end of the contract. We're talking nuts on bolts kind of work here. Skilled workers will make $38 an hour. I don't believe Dephi workers got that much, but probably very close.
  25. I don't believe that yesterday's universities were any more demanding than the work load today's youth have. First year and second year courses taught years ago in university are now taught at the high school levels. University students have a greater number of courses to choice from today, each with extensive work loads.Greater numbers of specialties and fields of study that didn't exist back then are now available in universities. Standards are still high at universities where 80%+ are required by many universities. As for the "limited number who gained entrance" they were basically Anglo Saxon Whites who had the finances to allow them the admittance. You didn't see a lot of "ethnics" or "people of colour" back then. Today everyone has the opportunity to go to university and this can be seen by the diversity of peoples on the campuses.
