  1. eureka Does your friend know that CBC now broadcasts in colour?
  2. Spar, Don't expect the government to "work" this fall. Any bills of importance has been pulled by the Liberals from this Fall's agenda and there is really little "work" to do. It's the LIberals who are not making Parliament "work" not the Conservatives. So much so, that the Senators in the Senate have absolutely no bills before them and are taking time off. Against your wishes for the Liberals and Conservatives to grow up and stop throwing mud...never gonna happen. Have you forgotten,we're talking about Politicians.
  3. Spar, Another lame reason, to add to your list of why you won't even consider supporting the CPC. You keep coming up with new reasons continually. Now the CPC has to call an end to corruption in the executive suites of corporate Canada to make you happy, what next? This party hasn't been in power for a decade and a half what do you want, lies, broken promises. I will vote for the CPC,I will give them a chance,I will vote them out if they end up being like the Liberals. I do not have any more tolerance for this type of governing,I want a change. If this issue of corporate corruption is important to you, I think you should redirect your question to the Liberal government that's been heading the show for the last 13 years, "why don't you Liberals end corruptioin in the executive suites of Canada's big corporations? I'm sure they would make it a high priority item....after they stop laughing.
  4. Spar, "it all depends on the rhetoric we hear from Harper" "Is he going to obstruct parliment " " will he be reasonable co-operative" Whatever Harper does, you will make a point of finding a negative thing to convince yourself he's not worth supporting. .Your looking for reasons and your arsenal is loaded. Only Harper gets this kind of response, not Martin, not Layton. let me help you with a few more: He's an angry white guy He doesn't know how to dress He sits in his office all day He's not a people person He has a hidden agenda.ect. ect. ect. We're not voting for Canadian idle here, I believe he has the ability to run this country into a more democratic state, you don't. You don't like the guy, so quite pretending you might give him a chance because you have found a multitude of reasons not to. And given the odds that there only has to be one reason that will turn you off, you'll never even consider Harper.
  5. I did the best thing I could do. Keeping my money out of CIBC, and if I had enough of it I wouldn't invest in the bank. What should I do with Dinglwall? With hold my taxes? Write my MP? How about an e-mail to the PM? I'll do the only thing I can do, and that's to make sure my vote doesn't go to that party in the next election. How much more do we have to take? And if everyone did the same maybe, just maybe the next party will give us a break with this crap, and just maybe they will learn that if they try to pull this kind of stuff, they too will get turfed. And just maybe the parties will learn that if we care so they should too.
  6. more bad news for the Canadian tobacco industry. Sure makes Klein's $400 seem like pittance... ...only 1.7 million Quebecers? I thought everybody in Quebec smoked. ... $10,000,...didn't we all use to live in Quebec and smoke?
  7. A politician was campaigning in a rural area. Outside a ramshackle house, he saw a young man milking a cow. He approached the man, ready to make his pitch for a vote. Just as he was getting started, an old man called from inside the house. "Luke, get in the house. And who is that guy you're talking to?" "Says he's a politician, Pop," Luke said. "In that case, you'd better bring the cow inside with you."
  8. Err, Did they change their stance on legalization of Marijuana when they changed their web site too? They sure don't have anything to say about it on their "new" web site. I seem to recall you lumping provincial Liberal and Conservative parties with their Federal counterparts as being the same when it comes to issues. Are you saying the NDPers of provincial stripes are not the same as Federal NDPers?Advocats of legalization seem to think they are not.Maybe Provincial and Federal governments really don't think the same. All I want ot know is the details of the legalization of Marijuana that YOUR party is promoting,I assumed that since you are a strong advocate of NDP policy on the subject you would clue us in. Obvoiusly you know no more than we do.I will contact Jack for the details, maybe you should do the same so you know what your supporting.
  9. I'm surprised that the polls were so close considering the factors motivating the results were 4-5 months old.I wonder how the Dingwall/$1.29 Gum expense will play with polls. Considering Jack saved the Liberals from falling, the NDP results seem to show Canadians really didn't think enough of of Jack's gesture to improve his standings..
  10. ......but what about all the cross burning in Prince George? Jewelry stores could go up in flames. I think Sven would get a "ringing" endorsement over the Frye girl
  11. kimmy, We got competition. New B.C.-based political party
  12. pocket, Here's a link that's closer to home. Marijuana,is it safe This is the portion that makes it like tobacco, and like tobacco it depends on how much is used. I think there are health risks that are under played by the media and users, but the potential for health problems are there. There is no mention of cancer in this government link, but I believe that Lung cancer would be another negative health effect of marijuana. Then throw in the negative mental problems caused by marijuana, and our health system will again be over burdened. Why would someone want to Legalize this substance? I believe this lawsuit by the government will be opposed heavily by the tobacco firms and end up costing the taxpayers millions and carry on for years and never get resolved.
  13. Kimmy, Now you could say that I might be raising a stink for no reason, but I think your campaign needs the raise the lid to higher levels. You know,to distinguish you from the other candidates ,some that we know are just full of it. My idea was that we have a slogan, something like "Vote for Kimmy, she'll take care of government paper work ,one sheet at a time". And all your supporters could show their support by wearing the Kimmy hat, Kimmy Hat I can see the campaign turning into a revolution for new government. People everywhere will be flushed with joy and demand dumping of old decayed government ideas and policies. I must stop now, I don't want to open the door to others to see the source of the party's ideas nor do I want to make an ass of myself by tooting the party's secret agenda to loudly at this point. Remember, we will take charge... "one sheet at a time"
  14. How can some embrace this substance while condemning tobacco? We talk about health care as being the number one priority for Canadians, then sit back and accept this as if it won't affect our lives in the least. Issues like sueing the tobacco companies become a "feel good" answer to our ills but we still refuse to see the fault of something similar. When we ever learn.
  15. cyber, I don't smoke....anything but from what I've been reading about marijuana it's not any better than tobacco, chemicals or not. NIDA InfoFacts: Marijuana So, according to this report,it's as bad if not worse that tobacco. The question then goes back to who will the government sue, and how much will health care be burdened with this new "tobacco".
  16. Jack's pot.tv show was in 2003,where are the details promised 2-3 months after the program, on the legalization of weed? Six months to go til the next election call, shouldn't the public see the NDP agenda on legalizing marijuana by now? Or is it a hidden agenda? How come the present NDP provincial governments in power aren't supporting Jack's movement with Legalization? As an NDP supporter don't you think answers are required to these questions if you want public support with legalization?
  17. You know, all these bald headed ,mustachio white guys look the same.... # Fast, simple teaching method! # No classes to attend, no manuals to read! Interactive lessons! # Learn at your own pace! # Lessons play like a video on your PC! # Work in the program you're learning, alongside the Professor! I thought this was Jack but now I don't think so, these teaching methods are for computer learning and have nothing to do with learning to smoke marijuana in a bong.
  18. Tell me what will happen if the Liberals decriminalize marijuana or as the NDP want, legalize the stuff, who will the government sue when the same health issues crop up with the weed? How can the hypocrites in Ottawa pretend to be all upset about Canadians' health issues about tobacco and at the same time start all over with the same problems with marijuana. Sounds like government brains have been affected by inhaling.
  19. Hey man like take it cool. We're like not talking about the messenger here,we're like talking about the message.Dig? The message is in the video. Let's try someone who's not a "extreme right -wing wing nut" BC Marijuana Party prepares for coming campaign, while their former leader now backs the NDP. This interview was in 2003 2003 Interview between Marc and NDP Federal Leader Jack Layton. http://www.ndp.ca/ Help me here would you,iI'm looking for the comprehensive update to the NDP platform on marijuana NDPOT.CA DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY PROVINCIAL NDP PARTIES THEY ARE ALL PROHIBITIONISTS It appears that once the NDP get elected the message changes.
  20. NDP view on cannabis. Jack Layton's NDP: Position on Issues? Free Munchies For All! Jack is interviewed on Pot -TV.net by Marc Emery.Check out the video interview on the RealVideo clip. Far out man, like this dude is like soooo cool and definately groovy.Cafe joints ah, I can dig it man.
  21. Better go back to the history books dude.... Lewis was used by Trudeau then pitched, NDPers will never learn, your "balance of power" only allows the Liberals to keep on tickin'.Nothing more . Ask his NDP son Stephen Lewis about Mulroney and Mulroney's social conscience, unlike Newman who "while skippering his 50-foot sailboat on Lake Ontario, Newman saw gale winds rip away part of his bowsprit. "That was scary," he said, sipping a banana daiquiri in the safe confines of a swank hotel bar. " sounds like daiquiri Newman on his 50 foot sailboat is just a typical NDPer concerned about the plight of the Canadian public. Yes, Newman just feels the pain for the NDP cause with every book that he sells.
  22. Tories: Dingwall severance is PM's call I hope Martin makes the "right" choice.
  23. The Loonie is taking flight again. Highest level in 13 years. This is going to be affecting Ontario manufacturing jobs big time if it keeps climbing, but on the bright side, that winter vacation in Sunny California could be more affordable. Loonie leaps
  24. Sooner than soon. Trio becomes 1st officially to tie the knots The Netherlands has legalized polygamy in all but name, granting a civil union to a man and two women.
  25. from the National Post today: Wanted: Expert in seamanship, sailors need not apply The Department of National Defence is looking for a civilian expert in "seamanship equipment requirements," and according to the official government job posting only those living nowhere near salt water need apply. Must be a resident of "eastern Ontario or western Quebec," Bill Casey(Halifax Conservative MP) says the government is cutting itself off from the most qualified pool of applicants by restricting the competition for such jobs. "It competely baffles me why they do this. The Minister of(Defense) himself told me he doesn't understand the reasoning for this." "there was one they advertised earlier this year for a deck hand for the Department of Fisheries...limited to Ottawa applicants. It's outrageous." Aye,aye matey, don't make waves.Captain Pauly knows what's best for the ship. He's been runnin' in the ship's business and he knows where yer best deck hands come from.
