  1. Mister H err-ass Read how one of Ontario's leading NDP'ers feels. Before Err-Ass "They tend to go a bit for the slogans that don't, when you actually analyze them, add a whole lot to the policy discussion." Maybe you should come up with some tangible solutions instead of constantly going to back to Mister H err-ass.Stop living in the past, follow Bob's advice.
  2. Anybody catch the popularity of Martin at the Grey Cup game in Vancouver? It was loud and clear.
  3. Martin in BC Now that's very scary.
  4. Harper mentioned organized crime. He did not mention the Mafioso as being behind the Liberals as so many are suggesting. This from an article by John Lawrence in his The Conservative Voice site. Don Martin?
  5. freegans Sorry, site bad connection.
  6. Pocket,...you...a freegan? Where do go, back of the Prospect? Freegans
  7. You're a fine example to follow.
  8. .....and then you have Jonah
  9. Pretty low sample for a poll (802 adults)....how do they know they are adults on the phone? Margin of error seems higher than most polls(3.5%) The margin of error increases for regional breakdowns of the results. What does that mean...most calls were in Toronto? 43% "don't know" that's means the poll was based on 57% of 802. Should give the Toronto area Liberals a boost.....for a few days.
  10. Harper has managed to get the attention towards the $40 million that no one seems to know where it went. That's a lot of money that's unaccountable by the Liberals. I'm sure everyone is asking the same question now. Where DID the $40 million go? If it can't be accountable by the Liberals what does that say about how they run the government. All this last minute spending doesn't help the Liberal cause either as shown in the polls.
  11. I know sometimes you have to read between the lines but....You got all that out of crazymf's quote, all I got was: "Maybe banned members aren't counted any more." Wooo,Sorry I asked the question. .
  12. With all the news about Toronto recently I had to bring back this thread after seeing this on the CBC news website. Book your tour tickets soon. The Lord of the Slums
  13. Would you be so sanguine if about a Iranian group singing songs calling for the destruction of Isreal and America? At some point we have to put our foot down. For me, that point starts when the songs promote a culture of crime and shooting cops. There is a big difference between singing about the joys of LSD and singing about the joys of killing people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why stop there? Ban movies ,video games,TV,books, anything that you don't think is acceptable. Next year the guy will be a has been and someone else will take his place with a different tune. The times they are a'changin.
  14. Remember this and how society at the time reacted to their music and their image? Elvis,Jerry Lee Lewis,Little Richard- the 50's Rolling Stones(bad boys of rock),Beatles(more popular than Jesus) Jim Morrison(masterbating on stage)-60's Alice Cooper,Heavy Metal music(the devil's music),the Clash,Sex Pistols -70's Madonna,Punk Rockers,Boy George-80's Marlyn Manson,Red Hot Chili Peppers,Nirvana,,Emminem,Dr.Dre,Mr.Big,Tupac Shakur, gangsta rap-90's In the new millenium, if you probably think Rap music is not music but disgusting noise(sorta like what our parents thought about our taste in music way back when),then you're probably out of touch with today's popular music. Rock and roll is not what you think it is, and any 15 year old could give you a lesson in the differences in todays music types that would amaze you. Rock and roll is not the same. Here's the different types of rock music the kids are listening to today: Roots-rock,Pop,Hardcore,Foxcore,funk-punk,trip-hop, glitch,experimental,digitalpop,blackmetal,Stoner-rock,Prog-rock,Psychedelic,Garage-rock,Alternative-rock, Hip-hop, jungle,Grunge,Gothic rock,Industrial metal,Roots-rock,Psychedelic pop,Power-pop,Folk-pop,Nu-metal,industrial-metal, digital folk,Prog-rock, Electronica,lo-firoots,Power-pop,Post-rock,Surf,Slocore/folk-pop,Electroclash,folktronica),avant-rock,Drum'n'bass,super-doom,Grindcore death-metal,alt-country,stoner,glitch electronica,Disco-punk,Dance music,Instrumental,emo-pop,Noise-rock,Industrial music, ambient,New generation,Acoustic revival,Chamber rock,dream-pop,black metal,garage-blues, slocore, neoclassical, Ska,post-hardcore,baroque pop. So trying to stop 50 Cent from coming into Canada because of his music will do nothing to stop his popularity or stop guns from coming across the border or stopping gangs from using them.Society tried to change our music and it didn't work and we won't change today's generation's music either. Nothing changes only the players. *
  15. Your son-in-law, doing something for the good of the education system.....even though he didn't want to.What a martyr. Not to mention he will get an increase in pay and pension and can leave the teaching to someone else.Smart move.
  16. It's part of the new Liberal gun control program
  17. Maybe he's usung reverse psychology?.........Na.....what am I thinking,sorry.
  18. What I remember from the last election was Harper stating his spending plans to the publicand the media and the Liberals-especially Ralph Goodale saying "Where is he going to get the money to do that?" Looks like Goodale managed to find it all in time for this election. I wouldn't worry so much about what the Conservatives aren't telling us about their plans right now,as much as what the Liberals aren't telling us and what they don't want us to find out if another party gets to run the government.
  19. You must admit that the 'Red Book' was quite a successful marketing and branding exercise. The conservatives are like those geeky engineering types: smart guys who can build wonderful gadgets but don't have the marketing savvy to capture the public's imagination. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Better a gadget that works, than a promise from a glitzy book that doesn't.Twelve years and waiting...
  20. Our aboriginals got billions of dollars for a lot of years, for all types of programs, only to remain Canada's third world people. Why is $$$ always the answer from the Libs? The way they run their programs by throwing $$ and without thought never succeeds. It only prolongs the problem. (Gun registry didn't solve the gun problem, More money for healthcare isn't helping waiting lines.) The Liberal thinking starts and ends with the loonie being the solution. The government's thinking of bringing in more immigrants should be put on the backburner until they can actually correct the problems that the immigrants who are already here are encountering. The stress and load of immigration is starting to take it's toll on our society. Everything from schools to unemployment is affecting both the immigrants and Canadians.
  21. I would guess, and this is only a guess the other four would be something like: -Bring ALL of the third world's population to Canada until the Canadian becomes the visible minority. -Make public healthcare an issue until we are all dead. -Make Quebec financially stable so they can separate with dignity. -Make sure government is always a profitable venture for those that run it.
  22. Thanks, but your'e a little late. Thanksgiving Day was October 10th. Canadian Thanksgiving
  23. Err, Sorta like Layton and the CCF/NDP guys. Jack the bong will first decriminalize the stuff and then nudge, nudge, wink, wink, he'll legalize it. Or support the Liberals, get what they want and "talk" to the public about making parliament work, but once they don't get what they want, the government is has no moral authority to govern. Such a perfect party who "adapts".
  24. In defense of GM, The problems you list are the same for all the car companies. This is the automotive world we live in. We only hear about the domestic companies because they make the news here in North America and affect us. The Japanese and Germans have their fair share of problems just as much as GM has. The quality issue of American cars I don't believe is as bad as some make it out to be, I would rather drive a domestic car and not have to pay the costs of repairing foreign vehicles, which far exceeds the repair costs of domestic cars. I drive a 20 year old GM car that is reliable, fairly efficient on gas and and cheap to repair. I also believe you should buy the car your neighbour builds.
  25. You can't leave us hanging there Err, Let's not forget to mention Mike Harris and the Corporations
