  1. Former GG upset at Chretien Government When have the Federal Liberals ever admitted to anything that they have done?
  2. Hardly genius, just extremely lucky the winds were blowing the right way.
  3. The editorial cartoon in the Calgary Herald today showed it perfect. Goodale pulling money out of a wallet and saying "this for you", and the recipient saying,"But that's my wallet."
  4. Maybe, if we had a law stating that lawyers cannot run for political office that would be the answer to our problems in Ottawa.
  5. There was less to understand then, our little village has gotten a lot larger and a lot more complex because of it.
  6. Kimmy, I think the time has come for you to do some real soul searching and begin to pick your shadow cabinet. We here on the forum are supporting you on this political journey to Ottawa, with thousands of Canadians supporting you,I think you should begin to make some decisions as to who will best represent the Kimmy party.Besides having the prestige of the position and also not having to pay for gum out of pocket or spending money at Pizza parlours, it would also probably cut down on our personal expense. There are so many qualified people to help you achieve your goal here on the forum,I hope you consider us for a portfolio in your cabinet. Choice your associates wisely for the positions that will make a difference, because....remember... we will take care of Ottawa, one sheet at a time.
  7. But isn't the issue involving the fact that the US has not accepted the NAFTA resolution to the dispute and has gone on to WTO. Shouldn't the US accept the NAFTA resolution first, abided by their resolution, pay back what is owed and then go to WTO. The Americans are putting NAFTA at risk by not accepting their ruling.
  8. theloniusfleabag, I'm no accountant, but I think there will always be an on going debt, and that's why the government is putting $3 billion "in the bank" to cover the debt as it comes up.
  9. theloniusfleabag, Thanks for the link, but I don't think there is a debt any longer. This statement on the link was made in July of 2004.
  10. theloniusfleabag Like Chretien would have said, show me the proof in the proof. I haven't read anything in regards to AB still being in debt, can you link me to some info.
  11. Excellent idea, this device would be KImmy's gift to all the politician's who lose their seats in the next election, just as a reminder of the kind of work they did for the taxpayers of Canada. We could call "Neuticles for Canada Award" and it would be similar to the Order of Canada, but only different.
  12. Canada does not have a Car company,we manufacture for either American of Japanese companies.I believe we are the only G8 country that does not have it's own national car company. We have little to say about cars we make for others. As for cod.....what cod? The only thing we have is natural resources.
  13. Excellent idea Spar, No point not giving the taxpayers what they deserve from those up on the second floor. Because of the limited seating in our head quarters, a lounge(and I'm sure it will be very popular,I've gotten hundreds of e-mails from Canadians saying this is what they want)is just what we need to convey our message to Canadians. I think we could qualify for a government grant to renovate our existing head quarters, improve the energy waste within, and do a study on the environmental impact of the lounge on our neighbouring communities. Until we get the grant, I foresee budget cut backs coming into place, so maintainance cost will have to be cut to the bare minimum. But because of the expected popularity, we may have to keep the taxpayers moving in the lounge so everyone can enjoy the facility.A cover charge for admittance will be required(GST and PST extra) to cover administration, parking and security costs. I think this seating arrangement will allow for far more taxpayer to enjoy our lounge butt at the same time keep our operating costs low. New lounge seating
  14. In the interest of all the posters I did e-mail Jack Layton shortly after Err's comment on OCtaber 1st,requesting the NDP position on Legalizing Marijuana. I've yet to receive an answer. But on another issue of drugs, prescription type. A person who I know (Pharmacist) formally of Windsor, Ontario, who worked at Big V pharmacy in that city(cybercoma should know that name) and later moved to Vancouver, made some interesting observations about presciption drugs being sold in those two cities. When applying for a job in Vancouver he was told that this particular store fills over 600 prescriptions a week and questioned wheither he could handle that load. His response was, what's the big deal,we filled 2500 a week in one store alone in Windsor. Now knowing that Windsor's population is far smaller than Vancouver, and it probably has fewer Drug stores than Vancouver the difference still seems extreme. I asked why the difference? The Pharmacist said he felt it was because of a couple of factors. One, the Auto workers paid only $.35 per prescription(I do not know if this is still the amount, but it was from about 1965 to about 10 years ago) So drugs are cheap. The other point he said was that he felt Doctors in Windsor, knowing that drugs were cheap for the auto workers, prescribed them more often as a instant remedy for their ills rather than use an alternative method. I know one auto worker in Windsor who argued with his doctor over a back pain, insisting that the doctor not give him pills(caused drowsiness,he operates machinery) ,but to do something else to relieve his pain.He recieved Physio therapy instead. My point here, I guess, is would user fees make a difference to the amount of drugs being prescibed if people paid more for them, and would alternative methods to drugs come more into play if peope refused to pay the high cost of these drugs by insisting they receive other ways of treatment. Would not the over use of drugs be kept in check? I was going to suggest that Ontario votes the way it does because of high drug intake, but I really don't have any proof of that. So can user fees cut down on drug presciption use/abuse?
  15. Kimmy, You won't believe this, but I think I've located a campaign bus. Kimmy campaign bus
  16. I'm sure most reasonable people like yourself, would only question these ridiculous grants, not all grants.
  17. Heck, they may have even developed problem solving and communication skills. So what happened to Paul Martin?
  18. August, Don't do this. Haven't we had enough excitement on taxpayer money being excreted inappropriately this week? But then again, what the hey, 42% of Ontario says it's ok........let's see when we touch a nerve.......Go for it.
  19. Bakunin, I think the people in Quebec know more than the media is trying to teach them. The Media is trying so hard to get Boisclair. They are trying to have people question his credibility.First it was the cocaine, then it was the connection to organized crime, and the latest is his education credentials. newspaper columnist accused him of misrepresenting his education. The best line I've heard was from Richelieu MNA Sylvain Simard who said: In other reports I read, Simard said the media should research their stories before accepting the word of a fellow journalist. This I believe is the fault of Canadian media, once one of them carries a story the rest accept it as gospel and promote it like it was, without any verification. Simard also said: Although there may not be orders given in certain newsrooms,in many stories the media does appear to be over zealous in their reporting without personally looking at the facts of the story. I wish the public in English Canada would do the same and stop believing the media for everything that it rushes to reports without verification. This incident with Boisclair looks good on the media.
  20. PQ leadership hopeful Boisclair denies having links with organized crime A lot of denial here about the cocaine and from whom he got it while a cabinet minister. No one seems to care.
  21. Funny how an big NDPer like air (or however you spell it) is concerned about his kids and grand-kids. And thinks everyone should tow the line....except when it comes to our national debt. Who's gonna tow the line down the road for the debt? So just keep up the spending Air, Canada's $500 billion debt will belong to your kids and your grand-kids.
  22. Slight difference though,Alberta has no debt, the Feds only pretend they don't.
  23. Must be an election coming up. All taxpayers to get surplus cheque When the surpluses were enormous this plan wasn't considered, but when it's minimal it becomes a good way to buy the voters. The last time Martin gave us a tax break there wasn't enough to buy a coffee, and in the same cheque he increased CPP. I had more in my pay in the cheque before the tax break. Don't hold your breathe.
  24. The resignation that wasn't really a resignation Don Martin's column today was quite enlightening about Dinglwall. He stated that Dinglwall didn't resign,he was fired, and that 's why the severance has to be paid to the former Adscam Chretien loyalist. THe question that Don Martin puts forth is, Why was he fired? Somehow I don't think it was about the expense account.
  25. Canadian plants in peril of losing cost advantage: GM VP At 86 cents US the loonie is already making Canadian manufacturing less attactive to the American companies, even though quality is superior in Canada. It will only get worse the higher the loonie climbs. It will be interesting to see if Ontario voters will put blame for the high loonie/job loses on the government (Federal or Provincial), and if so if it will reflect in their next vote.
