  1. There was no battle for power when Democrats took the House. Nancy Pelosi spent 20 years in a Congress before being elected House Minority Leader in 2003. In the 2006 midterms, Democrats took control of the House for the first time since 1994, and Pelosi became Speaker of the House without conflict… and the most powerful woman to ever hold any elected office in the world, until Kamala Harris was elected Vice President. https://www.thenation.com/article/archive/january-4-2007-nancy-pelosi-becomes-first-woman-elected-speaker-house-representatives/tnamp/ If the GOP manages to elect a leader in Congress, I fully expect a bunch of stupid clown show investigations. DeSantis already wants to “investigate” Covid vaccinations, of all things. I’m sure the GOP will find other important things to investigate, like why comic books are so expensive, why The Little Mermaid is black, and whether we should amend the US Constitution to make it illegal to kneel in front of the flag. Important things.

  3. Trump’s tax documents released by the House Ways and Means Committee. https://fm.cnbc.com/applications/cnbc.com/resources/editorialfiles/2022/12/20/house_jctreport_dec22.pdf One thing he didn't want his cult to know was his reported income was miniscule except one year he sold a major property inherited from Dad. Of course that negated his carefully crafted image of being self-made. LMAO

  4. As mentioned before . . . there is a forum on this site that caters to religion. Your endless preaching has nothing to do with the 'Liberal rumours' thread in the 'Federal Politics' forum. You call me a bigot, you reveal yourself as the zealot you are Expect another multi-big paragraph response from you . . . can you pare it down to 50-60 sentences and 4x twenty line paragraphs?

  5. You can't make people you hate care much about anything you say. In any case whatever details you think are missing is moot now it's all behind us. The conservative horde has had plenty of opportunities to bring about changes that would have prevented many of the things that lead to scandals, fake news, misinformation and the hate and divisivness these lead too. Maybe that's why Conservatives don't do any more than they need to make things more transparent they rely on hate and divisiveness for their traction. People like you are all they have to work with.

  6. If I have to talk in circles it's to keep coming back to a point you were only interested in avoiding. I'm not going to answer any questions that help you do that. If you're trying to say the word of a politician or lobbyist is all that's required to check and balance everyone's interest just say so. Pretending to misunderstand a simple concept like a public domain or interest or acting as if there are no rules around lobbying to protect our stake is what's dishonest.

  7. The Russian gangster kleptocracy in action. Godfather Vlad doesn't send critics to a gulag or execute them in the basement of Lubyanka like Papa Joe, they just fall out of windows and down stairs. Much easier.

  8. This was my critisism of my own deleted post where I posted something that was not only thread drift but my comment was poorly thought out. I apologize to you Blackbird. Back to the Liberal Rumours, a couple of days ago, I pointed out that the Liberals will win the next election because the CPC do not have enough seats or the ability to gain enough seats to deny the Liberals another minority. No sooner did I post that, than the CPC picked up a few more seats in the polls and the grits have dropped a couple. It is clear I have a secret super power. When I say someone is going to win something, they lose. It doesn't matter if it is the Liberals, the Bluejays, or the GOP.I wonder if there is money to be made...no, I will use my powers for the good of humanity.

  9. Blah, blah, blah. You've posted this same asinine crap SO many times. It's like if sometime showed you data that wearing a "bulletproof' vest makes it 5x more likely that you'll survive a shooting incident ànd you say, "Nah, I only way to know it's they work is to look at how many shooting deaths there are each year." The data is right there. It's been shown to you over and over again. There is a reason that every medical organization on the planet disagrees with you, it's sure as hell not because you've outsmarted them. Jeebus.

  11. Yeah, I'm one of those crazy kooks who measures efficacy with outcomes and incidence rather than just looking at a big dumb raw number. Me, and everyone who measures efficacy. People who wear seatbelts are like 7x less likely to die in a car accident, but for folks with your math skills the real measure of seatbelt efficacy is how many people die in auto accidents each year. ?

  12. Russia's war is illegal, unless you can show us where in inter national law/ UN charters that states Russia has the right to use force on any nation it decides. Fair enough, but there are thousands of web sites out there that do state with proof that there are many Russian soldiers who practice or believe in NAZI ways. the second in command of Wagner group, has the tats to show everyone where his believes are. Your right there is not a NAZI Battalion in the Russian army. just some soldiers that practice Nazi ideals. like most nations have problems with including our own. War does not have many rules, and it is brutal beyond believe, life has very little meaning, we living in the western world have no idea just how low "all" humans are capable of going when pushed. Once your at that level it makes little difference if your a Nazi or not.

  13. Diefenbaker could read and write. And was an excellent speaker. Trump doesn't like to read and certainty doesn't write. And his speeches are often incomprehensible rants against presumed enemies. Diefenbaker cared about ordinary people. Trump cares only about Trump. Diefenbaker had a passion for freedom and human rights and brought in the Bill of Rights, championed giving natives the vote, and opposed South Africa. Trump only likes freedom for Trump, and would just as soon end democracy so he could be dictator for life. Diefenbaker was an honest man. Trump has been a corrupt, conniving snake his entire life. Diefenbaker also had a vision, something Don boy lacks.

  14. Let’s recap your arguments in this thread: Fag means cigarette, so you can call gay people fags. Everyone in history was a bigot and racist, so it’s ok for you to be a bigot and racist. Gays call each other a fag, so it’s ok for you to call gay people fags. I’m a bigot for being intolerant of racists and bigots, and that is the exact the same thing. So, you can be a bigot and a racist. Democrats were racist, so that’s an excuse for you to be one. Did I capture all the lame excuses @reason10 used for being a bigot? Please add to the list if I missed any.

  17. Politics and biblical beliefs cannot be separated and locked into separate categories or rooms. They are inter-related. quote Two: God is calling us to participate in politics I have been privileged over the years to know several Christians in political leadership, both as their pastor and as their friend. One of the frequent concerns I have heard them express is the common misperception that Christians have done all they need to do if they elect Christians to office. The fact is, voting is vital, but it is just the beginning of our biblical responsibility with regard to politics. It is true that “our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20), but it is also true that we are to be good stewards of our time on earth. The Lord told his exiled people in Babylon: Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare (Jeremiah 29:5–7). As the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world” (Matthew 5:13–14), the flourishing of our world is, in part, our responsibility. If I have the only light in a dark room, its darkness is my fault. Caring for our culture and engaging in its political processes is part of good citizenship for God’s people. unquote What does the Bible say about politics? - Denison Forum Bible believers are the "salt of the earth". Matthew 5:13 KJV There, that wasn't too big.

  18. I know its tough to hear that a lot of politics is godless atheism and immorality and should be exposed for what it is. I prefer to talk about politics in the light of the Bible. Light exposes darkness.
