MPs are elected to get things done for their constituents. That's what they guy in your "Harper scandal" story did. Get some money allocated to his constituency. Liberal MPs do that all the time and I never say it's a crime. They even brag about the fact that they got the LPOC to allocate millions to their constituents. Constituents pay taxes for decades and then, every once in a while, they get something nice built in their community at the gov't's expense. It's a good thing. A bad thing is when the gov't gives some money to a slimy corporate entity just so that a big chunk of it finds its way into their own pockets, or those of their family and friends. Trudeau paid WE handsomely to brainwash children with Hitler Youth-style propaganda and to funnel half a million dollars back to his mom for a few speeches. Most people understand the difference between giving $50M to a community and giving $900M to a criminal entity to make propaganda for you and to funnel millions of dollars back to your family. Of course you don't understand it, but that's par for the course.

I'm not sure what the forest industry (a Provincial responsibility) has to do with the prospect of an early Federal election. As a treehugger, I think we should back off and let the wilderness, which is the essence of Canada, recover. With all the educational opportunities in Canada, why are we so welded to resourse extraction. Canada is particularly good in the financial industry, the beverage alcohol industry and R&D. We are short on workers in the trades and in IT. Why do we need to rely on natural resourses when the big money is in banking, the sciences, and the trades? We need to up our game in education. They're at war in the Ukraine, L'il Kim is acting up again in North Korea, and China is starting to get aggressive in its posture against Taiwan. The world is ready to combust. We've never been this close to WW III.

It is a global recession. People are storming across the border because of conditions in their home countries, not anything the US has done, Trump or Biden. The US international presence is stronger because US allies did not trust Trump and with good reason. The US is leading the western world in supporting Ukraine and NATO hasn't been as strong or united since the Cold War. Energy prices are higher all over the world because of Russia, not the US. Time to leave your basement and learn something about the real world.

Trump had the full power of the Justice Department AND a lot of private attorneys at his disposal who could have prosecuted Hunter Biden if any unlawful activity was suspected. But there wasn’t even an indictment, thus no charges filed, no trial, nothing. Trump tried to get a foreign leader to simply suggest he was investigating Biden, and got impeached over it. That should tell you there’s no criminality. Does it stink that the kid of a politician got a cozy job just because his dad was a big shot? Yes, that stinks. But I have no idea how we could pass a law to prevent that. It is very unlikely that Joe got him that job; I imagine there are plenty of jobs in the US he could have gotten him if he were so inclined.

Tucker has a good take on this one. He ties it into the Biden claim there was no recession and dares to notice this is another one that could have influenced the midterm elections. So if the Bureau of Labor Statistics knew they were lying that's election interference.

While the Earth is important, this Country is far more important. While the climate crisis is an issue, Canadas contribution to climate crisis is a pimple on a horses butt. We need a leader for Canada, not for Earth (as Trudeau is trying to be) and the Greenies are too single minded.

In those ways he was quite similar to Stalin, even though they were the worst of enemies. In those same ways, he is quite similar to Trudeau, even though Trudeau's supporters will claim to dislike fascism. Similarity: Trudeau and Hitler both illegally seized the bank accounts of people for no other reason than they were political dissidents. Similarity: Hitler and Trudeau both used mass media for fear mongering and hate mongering against people that he merely didn't like, for his own reasons, which were completely unfounded. Similarity: Hitler and Trudeau both falsely accused groups of decent, lawful people of being "unclean", and enacted strict government measures to discriminate against them in the most meaningful ways imaginable. Similarity: Hitler and Trudeau both jailed people for political reasons, and supported violence against them. Similarity: Hitler and Trudeau both illegally used the police to beat people up in order to quell dissent. Similarity: Trudeau and Hitler both put strict controls of the flow of information within their countries, and enforced disinformation and hate mongering. Yes, there are inconsequential differences between Hitler and Trudeau, the 'stache for example, and Hitler might have hated Trudeau as much as he hated Stalin if he knew him, but there are important similarities between Hitler and Trudeau which shouldn't be ignored, because they're ominous signs for our democracy. If we elected a conservative who did the same kind of hate-mongering, enforced the spread of his own disinformation, seized the bank accounts of dissidents, enforced the ostracization and economic devastation of a random group of people for fake medical reasons, etc, you'd be appalled, so would I. I wouldn't biotch out like you and pretend not to see it, and I definitely wouldn't support it. Sure, Hitler did more damage, the most he possibly could, which was a lot in the wake of WWI and the Great Depression, with a generation of people who lived through years of trench warfare. Trudeau also inflicted the most damage he possibly could, but he did it in a time of peace when everyone was fat and happy. It would have been impossible for him to build enough resolve in Canadians to kill their own family members just for not vaxing, but he got people to the point where they were openly applauding the deaths of unvaxed people on their social media accounts.
