  1. This is really a pot calling kettle black-game; The same people who are now laughing at Trump-supporters and calling them deluded conspiracy-theorists are themselves people who refuse to let go of their own narrative that Putin organised the 2016 election for Trump even though that has also been proved as bullshit. Nobody or no amount of evidence will ever let them go of that very belief that the Trump-presidency has been illgitimate.

  2. Maybe it's in the nature of conservatism to not be content with second or third best, to not be satisfied with what we have. Then again, that's a personality trait which motivates people like me to keep plugging away and not be content with being a security guard or something like that (which I was for a time). We are not a united country. Quebec stays here because it's not economically feasible to leave without taking a huge hit to their standard of living, but there's no sense of patriotism or even interest in Canada beyond Quebec. The natives appear to want nothing to do with us except for (like Quebec) our money. Now we're bringing in literally millions of foreigners who will have little opportunity to assimilate nor encouragement to do so. A country with no sense of common purpose, no sense of shared history is a country waiting to break apart at the first heavy stress. Our economy sputters along under the enormous weight of government bureaucracy and regulation, and heavy taxes, so much less than it could be, making us so much less richer than we could be. And the economy is the life blood of a society for it pays for everything you need to make that society function. We have no actual defenses against either civil strife or foreign attack (including by cyberwarfare). We have no military, to speak, very few police, and every computer system I'm aware of, from power grids to government to banks and industry is third or fourth rate, an open book and easily penetrated by almost any foreign government that wants to do so. And all of the above things are getting worse, not better. How many peple think the future: ten or twenty or thirty years from now, will be better than last year? Not very bloody many. Muddling along is okay when times are great, but I suspect they are going to be less so in future.

  3. I'm sorry to put it this way, but what utter, utter bullshyte. Trust them? Trust Doug Ford? Trust Justin Trudeau, a man who has never worked hard a day in his life, never had a practical job, yet got propelled to the head of government. Challenging the government is not a burden on us, it is our duty.

  4. Very true....Canada has been playing this game going back to at least Pierre Trudeau. Trying to strike a balance between being seen as a U.S. poodle and having its own independent foreign policy. Whether it was Cuba or China, and especially with Liberal governments, Canada liked to strike the pose and thumb its nose at America to great applause back home, all while becoming even more dependent on American capital, export market, and military support. This is an arrogant but true thing to say...Canada needs America a lot more than America needs Canada....but both nations benefit from the relationship.

  5. If you are really against China's record a first step would be to share that article and the list of common brands. Capitalism actually can be leveredged against abuse. Apple, Esprit and Fila didn't respond to the query from these folks. I am going to bypass Fila sneakers next time I go shopping.

  6. If you think the Republicans aren't co-opted by corporate America you really didn't understand the purpose for that massive tax cut last year. It was, as most commentators admitted, a reward to the 'donor class' - ie the wealthy, ie, the people who own those corporations. Notice how the corporate tax cuts were permanent but the personal tax cuts expire next year? It was, as one person said "A kiss on the cheek" for the donor class. And they didn't mean the cheek above the collar... By the way, Trump managed to get a special tax cut for real estate developers inserted at the last minute...

  7. You're not listening. Or perhaps not reading properly. Do you think 'the system' we currently have in place is the same as the system which built Canada? Do you think a nonentity like Trudeau could ever have been prime minister even as recently as his father's day?

  8. But that is not the case at all....not economically...not culturally...and not for defence. The U.S. (and other independently minded nations) have already sanctioned China when needed. For some reason, Canada remains very timid with China ostensibly because of canola and pig farmers. The "two Michaels" are already detained, so grow a pair. What to do about China ? Impose sanctions...deport diplomats...cancel visas...etc., etc., without having to depend on backup from the U.S. or any other nation. This Trudeau government appears very weak compared even to Liberal governments of the past, and China will continue to exploit this weakness. Hell, cut Meng loose if you think China will deal. Just...do...something.

  9. A rather amusing statement . . . . you, using the word 'trust' in reference to the present Federal Govt. Your center Canadian definition of unity is 180 degrees from what is really happening in western Canada.

  10. Trump has been raising money by telling people how important the upcoming Georgia senate races are. Only problem is he's not spending a cent of that money on the races! President Donald Trump has invoked the Georgia Senate runoffs dozens of times over the past month while raising money for his $100 million-plus “leadership” political committee — but has not reported spending a dime on those races. “It would suggest that the PAC is blatantly lying to its supporters to raise money that President Trump could use for his own personal benefit,” said Robert Maguire, a campaign finance expert with the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “We’ve seen lots of scam PACs over the years, but never one tied so closely to a president.” “Same old song,” said Joe Walsh, a former congressman who unsuccessfully ran against Trump for the 2020 GOP presidential nomination. “It’s what he is. It’s what he does. It’s all a con. It’s all a lie. It’s all a grift. And sadly, millions continue to fall for it.” https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/trump-georgia-senate-runoff-save-america_n_5fdbc7fbc5b650b99adb025b?ri18n=true

  12. Based on handling of a pandemic, the likes of which we haven't seen in 100 years ? I have no way to evaluate the performance on anything but a broad assessment. Both my premier (Ford) and my PM (Trudeau) are being second guessed about this but I can't see either have failed. As for unity, I don't sense that it's any different than before. People from the West demonized Chretien too. I don't think any of the opposition parties have been counter-productive either.

  14. Bull chit. Highly regarded by whom? Comrade Trudeau? The media party(Globull/CTV/CBC are all either owned and operated by the globalist corporate billionaires or Canadian government Pravda controlled. Those so called news reporters working for those news outfits are nothing more than a bunch of social justice leftist lieberal warriors professional paid off liars. They have never had anything good to say about Trump, and to me that just about says it all. Liars galore. LOL.

  16. I tell you, when I go out now nobody gives a hootin about physical distancing. They all got masks though, like a mask is your hallway pass so you can go do normal things. I went into the city and saw the sad sacks all standing in lines waiting to get into places. Go inside and its a zoo in there, people climbing over each other. Never would know theres a virus except for the masks. Theres your superspreader events. The masks ... they are the devil

  17. I have my own private conspiracy theory where I can't help noticing how well this all worked out for the Chinese. They've always been fans of population control and they got to thin out the ranks of the unproductive. Elderly and such. Also, perhaps it's more than a coincidence that their boy - "The Big Guy" - now looks to be in the batter's box to become President. Trump was a frustration to them and looked to be wanting to take that to another level. If you've been watching Tucker you know the Chi-Comms love themselves some Biden.

  18. Only a moron would exempt a given race from wearing masks. Oregon, of course, has lots of those, and a disturbing number find their way into government. And yes, the goal of separating people into different identity tribes and pitting them against one another is well underway, and is certain to increase the amount of dislike between the groups.

  20. First off , I have to say big thanks to a forum member here who advised me to install Ad blocker on my PC. What an unbelievable improvement !!! I no longer have to listen to some stupid teenager telling me to stay home and be safe while I am trying to play Soundgarden or Alice in Chains. My advice to you: Stop watching TV. I realized a long time ago we have no media - no TV, no radio. All is commercials mixed up with brainwashing propaganda. Bonny Boo.....had she been a bit younger, I would have.....(from behind), to show my sincere appreciation of her COVID19 measures.

  21. Those examples are very disgusting. I can see if the companies themselves choose not to be criticizing their trading partner, but punishing customers is disgusting and is censorship. We should not be extending China's state-censorship to our own people. China has a growing subverted grip on this country and it needs to be stopped, from media & political control to foreign investment.

  22. Of course we're dependent on them, and they on us. Our markets have taken a hit every time Trump & China have a big dispute.
