  3. By the looks of it, the story doesn't end with just that story. Trudeau government arranged $1.18 million for WE Day event featuring Margaret Trudeau https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/trudeau-government-contributed-1-18-million-to-we-day-event-in-2017-during-which-pms-mother-was-likely-paid-to-speak/wcm/cb72444d-9bc1-444a-b417-06d886325fba/ I don't know why this isn't in any of the two CANADIAN 24-hour news channel. Yo - CBC and CTV , wakey-wakey!

  4. The problem with Biden is that he's a shell of his former self. He's now a vessel for people like AOC, Bernie Sanders, etc to push their far leftwing agenda on to.

  7. Most Europeans are obsessed with the US. They watch American films and TV. They listen to American music and eat American fast food. Doesn't strike me as hate, completely the opposite in fact. Far from multiculturalism or the EU taking over our culture as many opine it is in fact US culture which is the biggest threat to regional differences.

  8. The OP is based on a lie. Most Europeans and Canadians like the USA. The author is projecting his/her own bigotry against Americans on others. Canadians enjoy a friendly rivalry with our neighbour, but it is nothing more than that. If the United States is an imperial power, God bless the United State. As empires go, they are unique in their generosity and humanity. If you really want to see American imperialism in action, study the Marshall Plan. The US spent over 50,000 American lives and an incredible amount of treasure to try to give Viet Nam a democratic system. There was nothing in it for the Americans other than to fulfill President Kennedy's promise to bare any burden to preserve democracy in the world. It was a fight against communism, which, along with fascism, is one of the most destructive political movements in history. The United States failed in the endeavour, but they at least tried. In 6 months the US will inaugurate a President. Who ever that may be, it is soley up to the voters of the United States. Canadians "feared Trump big time." The reason for this is, of course, the impact the policies of the United States on Canada. We live next to a giant. President Trump was an untried, unknown quantity. The OP refers to hate. There is no, absolutely NO excuse for hate. I cannot think of a better neighbour Canada could wish for than the United States of America.

  10. The liberals and business types United, years ago But you'd never know it happened From the fighting to and fro See it wasn't as John Lennon sang 'Imagine', no - no ma'am It was because some business folks Built some factories in Vietnam It drove the price of jeans down And helped the Vietnamese The stock market went crazy And everyone was pleased Until the laid off factory folk In small towns everywhere We're roiled that their old lifestyle Had vanished in the air Those leaders then remembered That workers votes still count They blamed the loss on foreigners And that's the current account

  12. I have contributed to that thread, here. Anyway, why would it matter if I'd contributed nothing? That's irrelevant. Oh, BS. The rules on this forum are that personal insults and comments are forbidden and that such will be sanctioned. I'm merely attempting to help you enforce your rules: Be polite and respect others. No Trolling/Flaming. No personal attacks. If I wanted to censor or control fellow posters, you'd be hearing a lot more from me - especially about the Russian bots and trolls that are allowed free rein here. So next time I feel that someone deserves to be insulted, I expect my post to stand as an expression of my "freedom of expression" and to see nothing from you in my inbox. In the meantime, I got a point in July 2019 for calling someone a hypocrite. I expect that point to be removed since the rule against insulting other posters don't really matter.

  13. Keeping the U.S. Senate is more important to the GOP than President Trump getting re-elected. The Republicans actually gained two Senate seats after the 2018 mid-term elections.

  14. That's right...it won't matter one iota, especially to those weak ass nations who depend so much on the "Shiniest Beacon" to protect the "post WW2 order". You will have to deal with exactly what the Americans give and take, and the only recourse will be to continue bitching about both. Australia gets it....Canada doesn't.
