  1. First rule of CT is that somebody involved in a conspiracy will be incapable of keeping their mouth shut. David Brooks has covered VP Biden for many years and he believes he is a man of integrity.

  2. Another Red flag on veterans issues, you know it is getting bad when the chief ombudsman quits due to frustration the government is giving him , and vets.... why is it that a nation that prided itself on our military history, be it at war, or peacekeeping, but also known around the world as nice people, and we can't seem to treat our vets with any understanding, or funding...in todays world Justin has been throwing bils around like they were smarties, but not one red cent to our vets....like we can't even be bothered, they are not worth anything except disdain from the public which is mimicked by our governments...I really hope that one day this bites us all in the ass.. Sad really that these men and women have given so much for all of us , and we brush them off like they were 2 and rate citizens... https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/craig-dalton-veterans-ombudsman-1.5570532

  3. Trump's career was not in business it was in sales. And so, no, it's not a good thing.

  4. There isn't anything in that video which can be directly attributed to Donald Trump. From all we hear, Trump has almost nothing to do with crafting policy decisions. He doesn't take briefings, doesn't read reports, gets bored easily at meetings, and spends very little time in the actual act of governing. Mike Pence does all that, in conjunction with the Republicans in Congress. And besides, much of that brag sheet is stupid nonsense. Bragging about cutting taxes for corporate America in the middle of a booming economy while you have a massive deficit is not something a conservative would ever do. The "121 month economic boom" predates Trump by about 81 months. And yes, cutting corporate taxes certainly helped, but those tax cuts came from borrowing even more money.

  5. It may have made things worse for many of us economically but it may result in some positive things too...uh yah I sound like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Dr. Oz or shit Oprah but you know what I mean... hey maybe people come out of this and elect Jesse Ventura President and Don Cherry becomes Governor General and Bobby Orr Prime Minister.

  6. A person's genuine intent or motives such as compassion for the poor and/or envy of the rich can be hard to differentiate. I myself look at what people do not what they say to try discern such things. When I was younger I was much more judgemental unforgiving of myself and others. Its hard sometimes not to be judgemental. It often is a reflex response to being fearful or anxious of something...its an attempt to put something threatening in a less threatening place, i.e., somewhere if dan be loathed with good reason. Your point is WELL taken. Some of us who complain are simply envious.

  7. You mean, there is a corporation that shows billions in profits and you don't own any stock in it? I can't understand why some people (not you, of course) complain about obscene profits but don't by stock.

  9. Yes, quarantining the sick, not quarantining the healthy or shutting down the entire society. That has not been done before, hence cannot be standard protocol. Certainly not shutting down medical procedures whether they be surgery or diagnostics for important health problems. No one is able to rationalize that decision. Standard protocol is to use PPE for the sick, not to guard everyone else. That is only done in the last resort in standard protocol of safety paradigm: 1) Remove the Hazard 2) Guard the Hazard 3) Guard the Worker In that order of preference. We went for #3 right away, long before necessary and all the PPE is gone. Its not coming back, they tried to buy it from you-know-who and they sent us toxic materials. That as their answer to Canada, from our property owners and task-masters. Healthy people were quarantined. Social isolation. No protocol there whatsoever. No precedent. Also simply bad for all of us. Self evident now. I should not have to tell people these things.

  10. I believe our officials knew this some time ago. They knew everyone was going to get it, and now it's more of a slow mitigation to get herd immunity. There will be no cure as it seems to be more of a retro-virus, from some reports it has mutated a couple times?!?

  11. After reading your posts I'm not surprised at all that it sounds like a plan to you. So what's next? Ban knives, stored gasoline? Or will you only be happy when we end up with this kind of stupidity?

  13. Thank you for the polite answer and willingness to respond candidly..much appreciated. One question I have is, given the failure of the UN model what makes you think you can run a one world government free of political compromise that prevents meaningful government?

  14. If this is your proposed future reality, let's hope it's the alternate one. It sounds like more death on the way to me. Plus a rather callous attitude for those who can't adjust. There are lots of reasons why people cannot adjust.

  16. There is a lot of conspiracy theory in these posts. The problem with CT is there has never been a successful conspiracy in US history, with the possible exception of the rebellion of the 13 colonies. I remember G. Gordon Liddy ranting at his co-conspirators taking a plea bargain to avoid 40 years in the nick. He wasn't going to talk, nosiree. That lasted until the cell door slammed shut and suddenly he was spilling his guts. Biden is far better suited to be POTUS than Trump. He has experience and integrty. There is no secret society running things from behind the scenes. If there were, they would be bragging about it in every bar from Albany to Zurich and their emails would be published on wikileaks and the Washington Post. Rockerfeller was a pretty good VP and would have been a good POTUS. The proceedure to replace a VP mid-term is the same as nominating a member of Cabinet. Nixon nominated Ford and Ford was confirmed just like any other member of cabinet. I am feeling vindicated since my own desire to se the Monarchy in Canada restored to real power doesn't seem so far out there compared to this stuff.

  17. In each province it probably means a slightly different thing. Clyde Wells’ Liberals were centrists by Canadian standards on most matters, if anything a little to the left given the economic realities of the province. Over the decades, I have seen Murphy’s views move to the right and his tone take on a much darker hue in the National Post. There’s not much of a mix to his ideologies now.

  19. That might be due to having an enjoyable occupation in a relatively non-competitive environment where cooperating and sharing information benefits you more than keeping to yourself. I have that experience informing me too. We flipped out that's for sure and whether it was entirely justified is something that will be debated for decades depending on the outcome and especially whether we make it a better world or not. In any case we're here now and I'm pretty sure the only way forward is up ahead not behind us. We don't know what tomorrow brings and we probably won't see it coming in the rear view mirror. If we see it receding I guess we'll know we missed it but I don't think we have. Maybe we had to know or explore our dark side first before moving on to something more appropriate and despite the pessimistic tone of the old adage 'the path to enlightenment is painful' there is also optimism. I have to lean that way because just curling up and dying really sounds like it sucks especially in front of the grandkids. If they don't have a sense of what optimism is before having to confront their dark sides they'll be screwed.

  20. That opinion seemed to me to be nothing more than the malicious spew of someone who does not like gun owners, does not like what he presumes their culture to be, and feels comfortable in denouncing them for it. He never even tries to justify his beliefs with the suggestion this would do anything about crime. Never even mentions hunters. To him, people with guns are just bad, and besides, they won't vote for his political party, so the hell with them. Take away their guns and (he repeats this) put in place heavy prison terms for any who dare to refuse! Notice he never mentions actual violent criminals shooting up cities, as if they're not important. Then in a throwaway line at the end says "oh, and uh, step up border controls to keep American guns out" as if that was even remotely possible. This is just a lefty who hates gun owners and like a lot of the left, feels perfectly comfortable in his hate and contempt, and in having the government punish those who deviate from his own views. There is no acknowledgement that compromise is the basic building block of a democracy, just a zealot's uncompromising disdain for those who think differently.

  21. Of course the virus is not that deadly, we all know that, the issue is the rate of infection. The issue is that it can mutate from case to case. You might wake up tomorrow and we might have a COVID-2020 doomsday and you people will still say "SOROS DID IT". If I had the power i would take all of you to talk to the COVID victims, I have someone at my firm that one of her friend's son is 14 years old is dying of COVID (he has asthma), critical care. Lets hope he gets better. Is easy to sit there and listen to a crackpot telling you is a conspiracy until you face reality.

  24. There is no point in debating this with you , as you don't know anything about the topic, nor do you want to... either way this ban is going to be killed in the courts or with a change of government....

  25. OK sure, your not going to be convinced by anything anyone says.... As a fire arms owner you do know ALL long barreled fire arms are restricted to 5 rds magazine capacity.....your posts are very telling , you don't know much about fire arms, nor what they banned, or the fire arms policy or laws.... The guy that invested 14,000 for just one AR-15 all kitted out is probably not going to be as relaxed as yo are about the ban, thats not counting what he has invested in ammo, other misc gear, not to mention range fees or memberships... because that was what the law dictated him to do....so he could enjoy a day at the range...or doing a the various sport shooting events

  27. You and the others don't get it at all, and I don't think you ever will, This about banning something arbitrarily, without thinking the problem through, nor having the facts behind them to convince all Canadians it is being done because it will make our country significantly safer when it will not accomplish any of that... Nothing the Liberal government has said , and nothing that the left has been said here on this forum has been based on facts and stats... And when I have repeatedly given sources and stats that back up my side of this debate they are ignored... Most Canadians are making this decision to support this action because they don't know all the facts and for some reason they REFUSE to either look at them when they are presented, or just state they represent the alt right, and hate mongers as someone put it and I can't have that.... I don't support this because I'm just an army guy, I own fire arms all bolt action rifles and one shot gun, because I hunt, and enjoy spending some time at the range.......I don't need any other firearms at the moment....nor do I see me needing to have one of these firearms in the future....That being said there are people who do own these firearms and enjoy using them in a hobby, or sport shooting That are already heavily regulated by law...... and you and others have basically said tough shit, I don't like those firearms, and i want them gone for no other reason than I don't like them I cant tell you why.........why would I support something that makes no sense and will not accomplish the goals that the liberal government has laid out....plus takes what ever pleasure away from another group that you did not even know existed.....And out of the blue our government has decided to ban them , and in doing so it uses false propaganda, and out right lies to gain the support of the people....As an other liberal has already said after to many drinks, if you shout it loud enough and often enough the people will believe you....in other words Canadians are to stupid or lazy to do some research, and are happy to be belt feed lies and garbage and believe it like it was true.... If they can do this without having any evidence to support their actions what makes you think they can not do this with any other item or practice... I'm only guessing but I assume you have moved out of moms basement judging by your age, but one should never assume.......I also assume you served in the Chinese or ex Warsaw pact military, or perhaps some African nation. These firearms that you claimed to have used are not the same firearms that any military uses as any ex military person could tell you....The ones that are banned where designed to be used by civilians, they operate very differently, and are not made to kill the most amount of people in a short time...And all the items required to make them a military grade rifle are illegal here in Canada, punishable by a prison term, huge fine, fire arms taken away for life and no longer able to use or own firearms again....the risk of getting caught is huge, and is just not worth it...
