Trump plays back the words of the mainstream media from January and February downplaying the virus at today’s briefing. He also played back Democrats own words from January, February and March downplaying the virus. It was glorious!

The arrest of Li Wenliang and other doctor's trying to warn of the outbreak is not an allegation. If China refuses to compensate the world for its failing it's regime needs to be changed. The way to do that is to have no truck nor trade. China's people need to be motivated to change their government and if they can't get with the program then they're on their own.

China lied about the pandemic. China paid off WHO officials so they would shut up and comply with the regime's propaganda. The WHO even told the world there was no evidence that COVID-19 had a human-to-human transmission. China closed off its internal borders so the epidemic would stay inside Wuhan in continental China, but let international flights happen so other countries would be sick (If I fall, everyone falls too kind of machiavellian thought process). China still lies about its real numbers. 80k infected in the world's most populous country, in the most densely populated parts of the world. How should the West react to make China pay for what they've done?

Fair enough. Looking at the trend data I posted, it's not reasonable to point to that and say it's because the US didn't respond as quickly as others. Also the idea that there's poor compliance with quarantine in the US is doubtful, although I'm sure it varies from place to place. It's my understanding NYC is a ghost town and has been for a few weeks. I've seen some nasty headlines about how strict they are in some places about public assembly. Hard to reconcile those kind of errors with this magnitude of a difference. Call it a hunch but it hints that something else is going on.

I don't see a problem in the data. For one, any blanket statement such as "the numbers are double" needs to be qualified, since doubling is very easy when numbers are low. For example, 2 cases this week. Next week 4 cases. The number "doubled" in a week, but that doesn't mean it is cause for concern. That's how the headlines yank your chain. Data for Sweden shows they are about the same as other nations. They don't stand out particularly well. This looks to me like its over in Sweden. A huge victory for the Swedish approach is showing right now in the data. If it keeps that way, it proves their approach is the best one. We are overreacting and have every reason to change course, now that we know.

Been thinking the same thing. The data for the US is bizarre in how different it looks compared to all other countries. In particular is this graph showing a comparison of the effect in different countries: Note how other countries are all following approximately the same curve and magnitude. US data looks completely different. This looks more like an attack. You are right, there is actually nothing for the attackers to do other than travel to another country and stay a while.

FACT - The US was screening passengers entering the US at their airports and Canada was not screening passengers entering at our airports. FACT - Canada did not start practicing social distancing, increased hygiene regimens, or recommending masks before the US did. But yet for some nefarious reason, this virus is supposed to be the big daddy of them all. the only ones who will benefit from all of this is big pharma and globalists like Bill GATES. They will also suffer the same consequences as we the rest of the people will, not to forget the ones here who are all in favor of having their rights of freedom and assembly being taken away from them. Tell that to aboriginals, over- taxed citizens, people who have been injured by federal policies and not provided any proper compensation for those injuries. Tell it to our war vets, fishermen, or all us now under quarantine because this government squandered our trust and taxes by not assuring proper pandemic planning. The 'frothing conservative fringe'.... I haven't observed much of this 'frothing' among conservatives. Certainly I don't see the sheer loathing and hate coming from conservatives I do from progressives. Most progressives would seem perfectly content if conservatives were all locked away somewhere like the Chinese do to people whose thoughts they consider to be against the social good. Certainly they wouldn't object to them all being silenced and deplatformed.

Since then I have been an independent. Had Rona Ambrose entered the race, I would be working 24 - 7 for her. My other choice would have been Lisa Raitt. Alas, the choice for leader is pitiful. But don't call me a liberal.
