  3. POTUS' have done far, far worse. I think it's the context that matters, at least for me. This guy keeps doing shady stuff with foreign leaders to win elections, and needs to be stopped. The election itself shouldn't be solely relied on to throw him out because the election itself is being compromised by him. He's just going to keep doing this stuff too unless stopped. I don't blame the Dems on this one.

  5. If they want to add spin, they should do opinion pieces. But freedom of the press and free speech means they can do whatever they want, for good or bad. There's still some dry non-spin news sites out there. Associated Press, Reuters, The Canadian Press, CTV News are pretty neutral compared to others.

  6. Why? The man endangered his country's security interests to blackmail a foreign leader into launching a phony investigation of the guy likely to be the Democratic contender in the next election. You think that's something that should just be let go?

  7. Immigrants presumably work. Elderly immigrants do not. In Australia, you need to buy them private health insurance, and the cost of a visa to bring them in starts at $6,000 and goes up as high as $40,000. Sounds reasonable to me. I also don't think they should be eligible for any government services. Their children are sponsoring them here to stay with them. Let them. They should not get pensions or welfare. If they can't afford to live here and their kids can't or won't provide for them then they should go home.

  8. Can we settle this little pissing match and agree that Justin Trudeau is an asshole . . . . ?

  9. The media should just be reporting the news, not making or shaping it, but now... they do both.

  10. President Trump will soon have something in common with President Clinton....impeachment. These two buds go way back....

  11. OAS and GIS are paid for through the taxes of Canadians. Why do we let the government take our money to pay for these pensions on behalf of the elderly? Because they're OUR elderly. Because we have a sense that we belong to a community with shared values and sense of shared identity. These are foreigners. I see no reason to be paying for their health care or their pensions.

  12. Nothing is more laughable than weak as a kitten Canada lecturing the most powerful military Hegemon on Earth about underestimating the need for military forces. This is what Canadians are all about now, talking a big game about things they know nothing about while never putting their money where their mouths are

  13. Not for Trump, who maintains very steady support from his political base. Crowds eat up the rhetoric, if only because it "urinates and craps" all over the leftists and drives them nuts.

  14. So the internment of 120,000 Japanese-American citizens and legal residents by FDR was fine by you....got it. Impeachment is a political process, so of course Trump is going to be impeached. ...the Democrats and wannabe haters in Canada still can't get over 2016.

  15. You mean you've made up and assigned some to me, using the typical far left mantra that anyone who is even mildly opposed to immigration or to any group coming in must be inspired by racism. That is simply due to your own fanaticism. Ideologues invent things about their ideological enemies. The far left cannot stand being contradicted on its sacred 'truths'. Everything I say is fact. If you question anything then ask and unlike you I'll provide the source. There's nothing I've said above I haven't said before, with sources and cites included. A cursory check. That's it. That's all. There isn't even an interview. Just a very quick scan of documents, most of them produced by private parties in third world countries, often by bribery, often forged. Not sure why you included a cite about elderly immigrants. There's nothing in it which contradicts what I said.

  16. https://tnc.news/2019/12/12/crown-seeks-life-in-prison-for-edmonton-isis-connected-van-attacker/?fbclid=IwAR11gi-nBoB9yDtExqGRpnTZcfb_qz6E1X6Noa6LHxOUCVqWmyuQhBxLkHU I've been following this one, since I was downtown and caught up in the police dragnet when this happened. It was pretty scary and I wasn't even on that street, just nearby when everyone started screaming and running. I dont' understand how the guy did this, had an ISIS flag in his car while doing it and coworkers reported his genocidal and pro-ISIS ravings - yet it is not included in the list of "terrorist acts" and because the authorities refuse to call it what it is - Islamic terrorism - some people will not admit that this was Islam.

  17. There's everything fascist about it. Canada is not operating like a democracy with separate branches of power and freedom of speech. There's no denying that the Trudeau government is clamping down severely on free speech, there's no denying that he tried to run the judiciary from the PMO, to the benefit of a company that's been caught bribing a Liberal Party member before. I never said that we were an entirely fascist state, I just posed the question "is Trudeau a fascist?" He operates like a fascist, not like a democratic PM. It's his MO.
