There are between 150-200 terrorist attacks per month globally. You can downplay the 170 islamic terrorist attacks and I'll downplay the other 5 or so that are committed by the entire rest of the world ok? Here I go: 5 terrorist attacks per month are bad, but it's only 1/34th as bad as 170. Your turn. Understanding liberal identity politics: some stupidity required. And by some, we mean a lot.2 points

Every country has them, but go to one of your peace loving muslim countries and tell them you are gay and see what happens. That is why gay muslims go to Israel, because they are protected. But then you probably hate Israel also. Young and dumb.2 points

Let's hope Kenney can stop this ridiculous attack on Prosperity. If it passes in its current form it will ruin Canada. Right now, the continual delays and lack of action to support the resource industry is preventing many families from earning a good living. It is ruining Canada and it will get worse unless industry and resources are supported. The Provinces should be in control of their resources and the Feds need to quit interfering. Confederation between provinces has no room for bad politics. Canada needs to keep building. Of course safety and integrity should be top priority. It was the resource industry that built this nation. Rex Murphy knows that as well, and I have a lot of respect for Rex. Alberta saved a lot of Newfoundland peoples lives in the 90's when the Feds completely stopped the fisheries. We should not put our heads in the sand. We need to continue development and progress. Development does not happen merely by halting something. You don't weaken yourself to make yourself stronger. A good example of environmental progress is High Tech Carbon capture. Coal Burning Carbon capture. Canada recently shared that technology with Americans and China. This will no doubt have a bigger influence in world environment then any other measures would do.1 point

Israel took in millions of Jews around the world. It didn't take in millions of Christians, Muslims, Hindus or Sikhs. They don't make any bones about their concern for Jews around the world, even mounting rescue operations for Jews once they found them being persecuted in Ethiopia. That doesn't mean they aren't concerned with other people's suffering, but they work to protect their own first. I have no issue with that at all. I wish Christians would do the same, instead of largely ignoring the plight of Christians being persecuted throughout the Muslim world.1 point

I don't NEED to minimize the ones by 'white western types'. They're already pretty damned minimal compared to Islamic fanatics.1 point

Your Zionist elitist rant illustrates nonsense. You are using this thread to present couched references to justify your hatred of anything that does not fit into your narrow definition of what an acceptable white Canadian is to you, the only people you want in Canada. Everyone can read your past posts. You stand for neo white supremacist ideology-the ideology of Hitler. Immigration policy is a platform to spew hatred of non whites for you.1 point

I think he is stalking us. They just come to visit us from time to time to get a good laugh. For me, Jesus and God have created another bunch of humans on another world somewhere and has abandoned us. They probably learned not to put in the tree of knowledge on this new world. Maybe Allah did the same thing too.1 point

Sorry grandpa, I have a bad news for you. The leftists that you know are dead with the Y2K bug. There are new leftists in town, and they are similar to assembled anarchists, completely defy logic and common sense.1 point

So we all know that white supremacists are the most dangerous terrorists in the world, but there are other kinds out there. You're gonna find a hard time reading about it in government reports, though. First, the Liberals removed all reference to Sikh terrorism and extremism, now they've removed references to Shiite and Sunni terrorism and extremism. Everyone plays identity politics to some extent, but the Liberals just have so many fewer ethics and so much less integrity that they'll do it even with national security reports. https://globalnews.ca/news/5230488/government-removes-sunni-shia-from-terrorism-threat-report/1 point

Canadians would benefit from having several more political parties to choose from. There should be multiple shades on the left and right. I think it would benefit to spread political power around much more. No more majorities, they simply cannot be trusted with such power. The government will always seek ways to circumvent any controls that place limits on their power, and this is even more problematic when they have a majority. Just take a look right now. So what Mr. Bernier is doing is important if it can get enough support to have an impact.1 point

LOL. Cute. Sorry egghead but America doesn't lack morality, Democrats just lack a true understanding of what's reasonable. 1) It's not reasonable to just let people walk across the border for any reason, 2) It's not reasonable to just let people from countries with a thriving terrorist population into your country, 3) Calling a gang like MS-13 "animals" isn't the same as calling all immigrants animals. That's a lie that only gets repeated by extremely stupid/ignorant people 4) People who promised a border wall in previous election campaigns and now say that border walls are racist are hypocrites and people who aren't offended by them are stupid, 5) People who think border walls are racist are stupid, 6) People who think that drones are better than walls are stupid. A border wall is by far the best form of passive defence available - just ask Jim "it's boring here beside the big wall" Acosta. I'll caution you though, he's stupid and he lies a lot. If you don't agree with absolutely everything I say then you are a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, hate monger. OOoooh it feels good to end my posts with a pre-emptive insult. I think I'm turning into a lib/demmie.1 point

Alberta's main argument seems to be that provinces should be in control of the management of their natural resources and that Ottawa should get out of their way. Interesting that you should mention prosperity, fish, Alberta and the feds in the same breath because like Newfoundland, BC is not in control of the fish that a good part of its prosperity depends on - a resource that tellingly stands to be most at peril in the event of an oil spill. BC's fisheries have also been just as mismanaged as Newfoundland's and for much the same reason, their expendability to political and economic whims based in Ottawa. I wonder if Kenney would support placing control of marine resources in the hands of maritime provinces that are most dependent on them given the likelihood that having such control would probably make it a lot easier for them to directly protect those resources without Ottawa getting in the way?1 point

The spectacle of queasy conservative men trying to get around this will be pretty funny. Picking thru their change wearing disposable latex gloves, inspecting it carefully. Maybe they could carry a purse so they don't have to carry it in their pocket - I mean, who needs that so close to their junk right?1 point

U.S. economy keeps on rolling with President Trump. Numbers include impact of government shutdown. Better than the EU...and better than Canada.1 point

Don't play that game that some religions are better than others. All religions are political mind control ... to serve money interests.1 point

I agree. Supremacism that divides people, mind control that keeps people divided and subservient to the money hoarders. It isn't really about God. It's about money. But people are welcome to take part if they choose. Lol1 point

My 'values'? My values include equal treatment for all. I hope Im not alone in this. Your second statment is untrue. The jaiks are full of people on immigration holds. Prisons are full of people who've broken Canadian Laws. Not all are Canadians either. The gov stopped publishing crime stats so we may never know the true numbers. Pity. It's very hard to expel people once theyre here in this country. It takes years and years. All the while using taxpayer money. Lawyers are making out well though.1 point

Yes like - often when a member of Trump's inner circle is sentenced to jail - FOX will be talking about a parrot that can snowboard or something.1 point

1.) Of course you can. It might not be preferable to stop it completely but it utterly and legitimately falls within the jurisdiction of sovereign states to regulate immigration levels. 2.) Well, Milton Friedman held that open borders, which he favored, cannot be maintained along with a social welfare state. I believe it's a sage observation. As for your reference to Hong Kong, you need to acknowledge a bit of reality. Almost half of Hong Kong's population lives in housing that's either fully or partially government-subsidized. I believe the extent of public housing subsidy is even greater in famously free market Singapore. Governments in those two places have figured out that the private sector cannot in an economically prosperous area that attracts large numbers of outsiders efficiently meet housing needs. The growing angst in Canada about immigration might subside substantially were the government to acknowledge the impact of immigration on housing affordability in cities like Toronto and Vancouver and were it to remove welfare incentives that attract often economically marginal migrants.1 point
