Right. So the previous government runs the provinces finances into the ground over a period of 15 years, leading to a previous credit downgrade, but somehow the current government of a year is to blame. Lol. Too high of taxes hamper economic growth. Unstrangling the economy needs to be done to help dig out of the massive hole left by the Liberals, who’ve literally maxed out the credit cards.2 points

The answer to your question is the internet is full of ignorant contrarians like me, who with argue about anything and love to hear the sound of their own voice and know nothing. We are extraordinarily cavalier with other peoples lives and use hate to cover up our own inadequacies. I acknowledge that most members of this forum are not like that, but the recent spate of anti-American posts indicates there is at least one, (hopefully only one using multiple accounts). Why would the world wish ill on the one world power that is the first, and so far, the only one to imbue its foreign policy with a sense of generosity. When their actions have negative impacts, it is usually the result of unintended consequences, not malevolent design.2 points

A response to the left's incessant, baseless attempts to smear conservatives as Nazis. It is *your* movement that has a long record of apologising for despotism and murder: https://hitchensblog.mailonsunday.co.uk/2019/04/peter-hitchens-it-starts-with-screeching-lefties-calling-us-nazis-it-ends-in-a-police-state.html …1 point

Excellent point....it has been estimated by esteemed eggheads that 99% of all species (fauna and flora) went extinct long before mankind rubbed two sticks together to heat up his two bedroom cave.1 point

I was up til dawn watching AN! Redux. It finally makes sense...heh. Dog will need a nap, eventually...under the umbrella in the toasty globally warmed back lot area...beers are on me.1 point

I do recall the Hellstrom Chronicle... We literally had our chance. A great thing happened in 1968 (ish) that much of the planet ignored for religious reasons...birth control for females. Alas...only developed nations took to the cure. Now due to 'lack of population' (ie economic reasons)...we feel the need to urge on this unneeded growth Now we're awash in humans...and more coming.1 point

So like...worse than WW2 ? Worse than total thermonuclear war ? Worse than the last mass extinction ? Worse than when hominids did not even exist ? I agree there is no badness scale....and any attempt to scare people into reacting to such claims will not make any difference. Just sit back and enjoy the ride....the Laws of Thermodynamics both giveth and taketh away.1 point

Yes, it's not actually about real estate, it's just an opportunity to take a shot at Christians. That's what I thought.1 point

Love it...the French don't have any more big ass old growth forests to rebuild the ND cathedral roof. Might have to use laminated beams, trusses, or (gulp)....steel !1 point

I would like to see Earth like it was in the Carboniferous Period...20%-35% oxygen content...explosive air...that would have been fun...heh.1 point

Hell yea...most of present day Canada was under a sheet of ice over 3 kilometers high. These same wackos would complain about climate change back then too.1 point

One can tax, harangue, belittle, etc all they like in the West about Global Warming...add another billion people to this rock and all those climate change efforts will be worthless as a Canadian penny.1 point

It's already too late, and more resources will be allocated to adaptation than GHG emissions reduction. Carbon sequestration was demonstrated by Canada/USA during the Bush administration, but abandoned. Competition for resources (fighting) will continue just as it always has....nothing special about the climate change religion or those who worship at that alter.1 point

Seems we have the usual visitors from Kazakastan with us on this thread. Comrades welcome. Are you Russians or do you bounce in from Iran? Well? Hi to you. These periodic visits to Maple Leaf are wonderful but your obsession with hating "America" is hilarious. Really it is. Listen comrades I never liked Hilary, but your Trump boy is a disaster. Julian Asssange showed me the pictures you have on him. Melania is quite something. Now I know why Donald's hair is yellow. Speaking about that before you piss further on the US, do you intend to live without all the things you have in your life as a result of spin offs from the US military industrial network? Show me you will and I will take your criticism seriously. Until you do comrade(s) may I say there is nothing more hilarious than an agent provocateur who drinks Coke and stuffs his righteous face with Big Mac's and smokes Marlboros. Viva Che boys. P.s. I know Melania is transgender. All the first ladies are. Please everyone knows. That's why you killed Joan Rivers.1 point

Sit. Let's talk. How long have you had a desire to destroy America? Why do you think you feel this way? Do you feel this way about oh say China, Iran, North Korea, Russia or Dolly Parton?1 point

Cutting isn’t a solution. Technology is. And as far as I know, climate change is still a one degree increase of the earths temperature by something like 2070. It’s just not a global life threatening problem. Sorry. The earths been warmer in the past many times. For instance the medieval warming period.1 point

No one deserves to have their culture taken from them. Over time, economics weeds out or reduces the power or influence of less adaptive cultures. Such cultures become the subjects of anthropologists and the content of museums. What’s unique about our period in history is that we have the capacity to protect and even enhance maladaptive cultures. We’ve made a virtue out of this, like saving endangered species.1 point

Can OP explain to me what is wrong with the current US foreign policy? I see no wrong1 point

Legislating favouritism for people of race, gender, culture, secular morality will never work. It will tear apart and is tearing apart the fabric of the Country. Protections for people that need it are people that are ill or aged. That is where a culture and Country can be judged, how they treat their seniors and sickly. That is why the Liberals and NDP (Lefties) are fundamentally deceived.1 point

We keep running around in circles, debating token gestures to reduce climate change. The most efficient way to save the planet, would be through depopulation. As long as the population continues to grow, will have to make tremendous sacrifices in the name of sustainability. At what point does these economic penalties reduce freedom? I don't want the children of the future being told what the eat, and how to live, just because they have a large footprint. Bigger isn't always better. It's not the side of the national GDP that matters. It's the GDP per capita. We can have fewer people with more wealth, or more people with less wealth.1 point

Canadians have become so stupid. Just a bunch of sheep bending over for the enviro crowd. We are carrying the load and cutting our own throats so trudeau and his minions will look good to the UN. The only problem it is the american big oil that is running the enviros ,just to destroy our oil sector while growing thiers.1 point

While the issues are complex I doubt Eye understood you were trying to explain why I would guess to say many Canadians if not the majority use the reasoning you explained. No doubt he will take it personally, etc. Your point is well taken. Most people believe he above as do many aboriginal peoples who left their societies to live in the non aboriginal world. The system is broken because we created an environment that creates a never ending cycle of dependence on government handouts. There is abuse of the funding process and money itself is thrown into a political network that often mismanages or out and out embezzles the funds. Reforming the corrupted parallel government of the aboriginals is an issue frought with accusations of racism if you point it out as a non aboriginal and a guaranteed accusation you are a sell out traitor if you are aboriginal. It will take more than fake tears from a shallow poser like Trudeau at photo ops to deal with the issues. The Indian Act should have been ditched years ago. Also the federal government has the right to ask for specific accounting standards if it gives out money which its not enforcing or even asking for. I believe aboriginals need to step up to the place in regards to examining their own internal corruption. All that said, when we pollute and harm any community we must step up to the plate and remedy the damage and hold he polluters as much as possible responsible for the expense of the clean up. In regards to certain not all aboriginal communities that are isolated, we have to ask, if someone wants to live in isolation, is it realistic they can expect the same services as someone in a complex built up city. For people in isolated communities it may be we need to plug them in with satellite technology solar energy, wind and water purification systems for their het and air conditioning and communication systems not high transmission lines, or traditional energy grids. We should also be introducing biodegradeable mould proof housing materials or even housing.1 point

https://business.financialpost.com/news/economy/moodys-downgrades-ontarios-credit-rating-from-aa3-to-aa2-citing-deficit Because of the deficit (blamed on Liberals) and reduced revenues due to Ford's tax cuts for the wealthy and for polluters.
