Unfortunately this is pretty much what I expected. I'm sure it'll get worse though. Since he was elected it's been a steady down hill progression from him.3 points

I didn't expect him to be this bad; he is far worse than expected.3 points

He's far beyond annoying. I'm not sure if you've been paying attention but he's established a habit of making Canada a laughingstock around the world. His policies are dangerous and expensive. He's damaging our international relations with quite a few countries, the list just goes on and on. As for Scheer this religious policy crap is just that, made up hogwash. In fact whenever the media tries to trip him up with it his answers are reasoned and balanced. Not one single time has he been heard to utter anything policy related that is influenced by religion. Rather than regurgitating Liberal fear provoking lies it would be better to actually listen to the man and learn what the truth actually is.2 points

True, he may not have been drunk. Inebriated is another story. Lately he does seem to be losing the thread, even more so than his usual state of confusion.2 points

Thanks for the lesson, I'm sure Omni should read it more than I, however the question posed was basically, what does the "A" in AR-15 mean, and regardless of your post, It means Armalite. No matter how you and Omni defend the arrogant smugness of his post, it is what it is...Armalite.1 point

As discussed in the link below, one of the reasons UK gun homicide rates are so low is because of how the UK counts homicides (and arrests/convictions). The UK is probably not 6 or 20 times better than Canada, or 60 time better than the U.S. Further, the U.S. is an outlier with far higher gun ownership per capita, and fewer homicides per number of guns owned compared to some other OECD nations. The U.S. is not the worst, and Canada is certainly not the best.1 point

I'm all for having to earn the right to vote. That way people might take their vote seriously. And be more careful who they gave it to.1 point

Yes, I believe the "A" stands for "Armalite".1 point

There are many stories about the black stone over the centuries, both before and after the start of Islam (eg. it was stolen in 930AD and recovered in 951AD). One of those stories takes place several years before Mohamed had his first revelation (visit by the archangel Gabriel). The temple was undergoing renovations, and to quell any fighting over who would have the honor of setting the stone back in its place they decided to let the next man to walk in be given the honor. That man of course turned out to be Mohamed. Some may say that after getting that honor his ego took over and he thought himself a prophet, other of course may say that God directed to him to be at the temple at the right time. There are countless other stories about this stone, how it has been lost, found, destroyed, etc. The stone that is in place there today is not a single stone, but several fragments cemented together. That probably accounts for the various sizes attributed to it in the many stories. What was there in 600AD and earlier may have been a large single piece, and perhaps what is seen today are fragments of that original rock. Some claim it dates back to Adam and Eve, and was a rock that fell from the heavens for them to create an altar; that aligns with the common claim of it being a meteorite. Others suggest that it is a glass formed from silica by the impact of a meteorite. The most plausible is that it is terrestrial in origin, formed by natural forces, most likely an agate. If the story about it floating are true (from when it was stolen and recovered), then it is possibly a pumice.1 point

There's a difference between dressing up like everyone else, as seen in those pictures, and dressing in a patronizing way like our ridiculous Liberal PM did in India. Harper is wearing the same clothes that the others are. Trudeau on the other hand insulted Indian people by becoming a caricature of what an uncultured person thinks an Indian dresses like. But the ability to differentiate between things clearly is not a strong Liberal trait.1 point

Plato also had a good idea about it. In many ways, it seems like a better design than democracy based on misinformation and identity politics.1 point

Many years ago the science fiction writer Robert A Heinlein proposed that a voter must earn the right to vote. His book Starship Troopers further expounded on this idea. There is a lot to be said in favour of this proposition. It would help ensure voters who are invested in the process rather than voters who cast a ballot on a whim or for trivial reasons.1 point

Mexico is a major country...has a higher gun homicide rate than the U.S. Brazil is a major country...has a higher gun homicide rate than the U.S. Russia is a major country.... http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/Russia/United-States/Crime/Violent-crime Homicide rate in the U.K actually increased with more gun control. https://crimeresearch.org/2014/03/comparing-murder-rates-across-countries/1 point

Compared to every other major country, America is like living in a war zone. Gun homicides in the US are 10 times that of Canada, 20 times that of Australia, and 40 times that of the UK.1 point

After a mass murder in 1996, they enacted legislation to ban automatic and semiautomatic weapons and confiscated over a half million of them. The gun homicide rate has decreased 42%; Australia has one of the lowest homicide rates of all. More significantly gun suicide rate decreased 57%. Here is a review from Harvard.1 point

Video posted on Telegram appeared to show a policeman pushing a woman off a utility platform where she had been peacefully protesting. People in the crowd shouted words of encouragement for the woman, to which a policeman challenged, “Step forward if you’ve got balls.” A bystander told CHRI that the woman struggled to get up from the ground and was limping. “The crowd quickly surrounded her and didn’t let the police come close,” the witness told the rights group anonymously. The crowd helped the woman into a taxi, but the police followed her. “I heard the taxi was stopped at the next crossing and they arrested her,” the witness said. An activist group, My Stealthy Freedom, has identified her as Maryam Shariatmadari, though this is not confirmed. The group said that she was beaten at a detention centre and denied medical treatment. ast director at Human Rights Watch. http://www.rudaw.net/english/middleeast/iran/240220181 point

That was funny. You spend many responses telling Jews who we are and where we can live and now suddenly its not up to you. Lol. You are the leader for us. We need you to lecture us on where we should go Moses I mean Holy Ghost. Bottom line its up to those who live in Jerusalem to figure it out not you, not me and certainly not the pee on Israel Committee.1 point

1. 10-4. Copy that. 2. I don't. Laws that prohibit things result in fewer of those things being around. I know this because whenever I ask for a gram of cocaine at convenience stores in my town I get a funny look.1 point

Of course it's a stupid idea to arm teachers - they should be arming the students themselves. They are younger, closer to the action and will have much better reflexes and response times. Of course, there is such a thing as "too young" to own guns. Toddlers likely don't have the hand-eye coordination or ability to aim well enough. That is why we will need to introduce a new line of de-scaled weapons to sell to that demographic.1 point
-
Of course it is which is why teachers have exclusively turned thumbs down to such a stupid idea as to plunk pistols on teachers hips. luckily teachers are a lot smarter than their president.1 point

Perhaps, but I think the probability of many others being killed by all those weapons is several orders of magnitude higher.1 point

Most mass shooters expect to be caught, and have a high probability of being shot multiple times and probably killed. Call them cowards if you want, I have much better names for them, but if you think that they will change their plans because of the chance someone is packing then you are deluding yourself.1 point

I grieve for a statue, it represented all that was right with the British invaders. How they offered a cash bounty to anyone who killed a Mi'kmaw person. Future generations would call it genocide, but I just prefer to call it spring cleaning.1 point

On the other hand it could be great for the country. If he goes too far down that particular rabbit hole he could be removed. That would be a win win for Canada.1 point

I know a drunk when I see it. I have done some major drinking in my time. And when you are stumbling and then, the old hands on the hip, with the I am not drunk look on his face tells it all. I know he is your boy and will defend him to the end, but his party better look into this or it could get worse. He could be breaking under the pressure and that is not good for him or the country.1 point

And to add, he'll hug or embrace anyone at the drop of a hat.
