  1. Islam is a religion. Plus it is a political system. It. however, is not a race or a skin colour.

  2. Islam is the enemy. Not singled-out Muslims who as Churchill noted are quite capable of being splendid individuals. Your personal hatred of Trump is what drives your emotional responses.

  3. I think our fundamental difference is based on the fact I'm a taxpayer and you've probably never earned enough to pay more than you get in your multiple times on unemployment. You don't care how much immigration costs because hey, it's not any skin off your welfare sucking nose.

  4. Its a strawman. I don't support Islam. I think its a completely bogus set of beliefs, that encourages bad behavior in many of its followers. But pretty much everyone has at least some beliefs that I find disturbing... My opinion is that people have the right to think and believe unpopular or abhorrent things, and should be judged instead on how they act. And I don't see any evidence that our Muslim population commits more problematic acts than any other immigrant group, or than Canadians as a whole. Just like I find your racist, xenophobic mindset disgusting, but as long as you behave and don't go out and start committing hate crimes I believe you have the right to be a xenophobic racist. You should not be punished simply from what you think or believe.

  5. More code words that mean...let the Americans pay to defend Europe, because Europe (and Canada) won't pay.

  6. So your claim is that Russia wants to take over the world? They have to tow their carriers... Islam, however, is spreading like the pox.

  7. Don't worry...Canada will save Europe from the Russians.

  8. Easy to say from Canada...which doesn't want to pay for military readiness or capabilities against this "enemy". Let Trump and the Americans do it.

  9. People rarely change their minds in places like this. Because in general people that spend a lot of time sitting on the internet arguing about politics are partisan ideologues that take politics a bit too seriously. Its not accusation against others, as I fit into that category too. I don't really care what fake got immigrants might choose to believe it. I would need compelling DATA to change my mind... for example... statistics showing muslims commit murders or other crimes at a much higher rate than other immigrants. But in the US for example they are actually LESS likely to commit murder than other Americans which means each time you let a muslim in the murder rate actually goes down a tiny bit. An "argument" is not going to change my mind unless its accompanied by a dataset that I find credible and compelling. The islamaphobes on here are always missing that one key thing... evidence. I cant help but be reminded of this... Start it at the 1:30 mark...

  10. It's been pointed out that Obama gave Russia highly classify info. and they used it against Obama and there is also the fact Obama also interfered with Israel election....but that ok? BTW, remember the name Seth Rich, HE was the one hacked the Dems not Russia and the FBI has the his computer but #2 director , who was the investigator, into Richs death ,wife got $700,000 from the Dems to run in Virginia, so can McCabe, be trusting. I wouldn't.

  11. I can't say I've changed my mind, but in 4322 posts I have a clearer understanding of some of the issues. To me, the purpose of debate isn't to change anyone else's mind (although if they do, that is fine). The purpose is to better understand where everyone else is coming from. I may not fully agree with other's opinions but that doesn't mean they don't make some valid points.

  12. What's with this Baroness Von Sketch? I never seen the show....but I see the ads. From what I see, her portrayal is so disgustingly vulgar. It's not even funny.

  13. It seems that many people don't understand the dynamics at play between countries when it comes to foreign policy. First, there are no real "friends" among nations, only temporarily useful alliances. Even when that relationship exists, there is no such thing as trust. Spying abounds everywhere and always. Canada is spying on the United States right now, and the US is spying on Canada. Canada is spying on the UK, etc. Any country that does otherwise is politically disempowered. All nations are primarily focused on their own self-determination, and work with others to achieve it. That alone is their motivation, nothing else. Second, even among so-called adversaries there is still a level of cooperation. Countries continue to share information and trade. That can even happen during a conflict. Global politics is far too complex in terms of the alliances, specific goals, control over different regions etc. to have such absolutes as "friend" or "enemy". In other words there has always been information exchange between countries, superpowers especially and US has cooperated with Russia many many times. Even Obama would have to share critical security information with Putin. For those who only think in terms of black and white, IE the politically polarized, this is a difficult thing to accept. Yet another example of how the general public is being duped by media propaganda.

  14. All having nothing to do with proven actions that rise to crimes and removal from office. Lots of presidents "screw up"....so what ? It's a harder job than yours, IMO.

  17. This board allows for members to post their opinions on any topics regardless of their citizenship. You are one of the reasons I don't like to post on this forum because of your incessant trolling of Canadians expressing an opinion. I have not been here no more than a few hours and already you are trolling me because of my citizenship.

  18. Israel depends on the USA far more than the US depends on Israel. Israel will get-over it. Probably already has. She's a big girl with her own rifle.

  19. Agreed....Trump was not president when Putin moved on Crimea anyway...it was their real American fave...Obama. Canada didn't do a damn thing either.

  20. The Crimea, while a distinct region with its own aspirations and such, has been thoroughly engaged with the Russians since the mid 1700s. The Ottoman Empire was forced to grant the Crimea independence as result of losing the Russo-Turkish War which then came under the influence of the Russian Empire. This continued more or less as-is until Nikita Khrushchev transferred the Crimea Oblast to the Ukrainian-SSR in 1954. This "opened the door" so to speak to Crimean nationalistic ambitions. Modern Russia has strategic interests in the Crimea...most notably the warm-water naval base at Sevastopol which it isn't just going to hand-over to anybody (anymore). And war is politics by other means...after-all.

  22. The obvious other side of the equation is that not one single Democrat gave Russia a second thought while Putin was bending over Obama, but low and behold on Nov. 9th Putin and Russia became the biggest threats to the world - so much that the Dems are trying to produce another cold war. BTW - Russia had every right to take over Crimea, Snowden is just a meh!, and had Obama not bungled Syria, relations with Putin might actually be better for the US.
