  2. You're using a completely different set of circumstances. As a judge I would say inadmissible evidence. Award the passenger damages and expenses. This was simply for the convenience of the airline company. They should have found another solution.

  3. Yup, life isn't fair sometimes. It's moronic because he is an ADULT having a hissy fit on a public airplane. If he said to the airline, "Hey, I'm a doctor and I'm needed for a life-saving surgery in Louisville ASAP".....I doubt the airline would have kicked him off. They would have found someone else to take the money and free hotel room. There were lots of ways for him to say "Enough is enough". Having a hissy fit temper tantrum is the Moron way.

  5. Then they can do it if there is such an option in the contracts because these passangers accept all these rules while they are buying ticket. Still there is a lack of justice. How they choose the bumped passenger ? They should ask to whole passengers first, to see whether or not there are someones voluntarily will accept the offer. If there is noone accepts the offer, then they have to make a draw to choose a random passanger. Passangers with babies, passangers with healt problems, passangers quite elder should not be included into the draw. So as you see, this is not such an easy problem to solve when it comes to choose someones you wish and kick them out of the plane.

  6. I appreciate the airline had to get a crew to Nashville. I don't know why in this case but shit happens in the airline biz. Weather, other flight delays, you name it. You wouldn't believe how crews are often scheduled on domestic flights. Been there, done that and the passengers sitting there in Nashville waiting for that crew would not have been impressed if it didn't show up. This was not a case of overbooking and the airline was in a bind, but the way those on site chose to get out of that bind was moronic. Just because you have a power doesn't mean you should use it. It's probably a good thing this happened in such a blatant way because I really think there has been a lesson learned here by all airlines and we won't see this kind of thing again regardless of what government does.

  7. According to a book I read many many decades ago called "Bilingual Today, French Tomorrow" is coming true. The book was written by a man by the name of Andrews, I cannot recall his first name. In the book it was explained how trudeau, and other franco ministers in his liberal cabinet were planning on trying to turn Canada into a french speaking nation. Although Canada has not become a truly bilingual country as they would have liked it to become but they did allow quebec to declare itself unilingual where the francos would be able to protect their language and culture while the WASP'S would lose theirs thru the implementation of multiculturalism. Although the francos have not yet succeeded in doing what they have set out to do but they still continually try to push french down the throats of the rest of the Anglophones in the rest of the provinces. The francos have pretty much taken over Ottawa just by their numbers. Many government jobs are now bilingual making it very difficult for Anglos outside of Ottawa to work in Ottawa. All ministers that have been given posts in any cabinet pretty much now has to speak french. So far from what I had read in that book has pretty much come to pass.

  9. He is the worst Canadian PM since his father, and is just as much fair game here as is Donald Trump in many Canadian politics threads. Do think Justin Trudeau's screw ups should be off limits for Americans, but Trump's press secretary is fair game ?

  10. Most wars are fought according to the standards of the previous war. The American Civil war was fought using Napoleonic war tactics when rifled muskets had changed everything. The British learned the hard way during the Boer war that repeating rifles had changed everything again. In WW1, the machine gun changed everything. Warfare was at a stage where existing technology determined defence trumped offence no matter what generals did. They were still trying to fight a war of maneuver which was not possible at the time. The tank, aircraft and aircraft carriers developed during and just after WW1 changed everything again in WW2.

  14. First you have to endure a generation of absurd housing prices and wait for all the young people to leave the city, leaving it an empty husk. Then you can get the tax after that, like Vancouver did.
