kuzadd Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 09-11-2001 Richard Perle: 9/11 attacks linked to "one or more large governments" "This could not have been done without help of one or more governments," Perle told The Washington Post on Sep. 11. "Someone taught these suicide bombers how to fly large airplanes. I don't think that can be done without the assistance of large governments." now where did he speak to washington post from? anyone know? anyway he does appear to be attempting to link 9/11 with a government of one country , minimally, rather then a 'rogue network', so clearly the spin, sales pitch had begun, right on sept 11th. buffycat Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 How can Perle's whereabouts be confirmed? Not sure about Tenet, he may well be mistaken - or lying, it's not like he hasn't lied before. However, that also doesn't mean that Perle himself is not a liar and biased individual. In fact Perle is a pretty slimy guy along with the rest of the PNAC crew. No one ever said the Dems were any better than the Repulicans. Both parties are rife with corruption. All these fake divisions sure do serve a purpose in continuing an 'us vs them' mentality though. Guthrie Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Tenet doesn't have near the imaginative gift for fiction that Turd Blossom has. stignasty Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Ex-CIA officers slam former boss on Iraq, bin Laden POSTED: 11:25 a.m. EDT, April 30, 2007 WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In the period leading up to the Iraq war, the head of the CIA didn't speak out loudly enough about U.S. intelligence that said Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, said a former CIA officer Monday. Ex-CIA intelligence officer Larry Johnson responded to comments by former CIA Director George Tenet which aired on CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday. Tenet said the consensus in the U.S. intelligence community was that Iraq did possess WMD, which the Bush administration said was its reason for invading in March of 2003. Johnson told CNN on Monday that although Tenet knew intelligence indicating that Iraq had WMD "was a problem," he still played a role in the Bush administration's message to the American people that Iraq was a threat. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/04/30/tenet/index.html Quote "It may not be true, but it's legendary that if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country. Turd BlossomFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search See also: List of nicknames used by George W. Bush Turd Blossom, according to partisans of Karl Rove and George W. Bush, is a Texan term for a flower which grows from a pile of cow dung.[1] The term has gained notoriety in the United States, as reportedly this is one of President George W. Bush's terms of endearment for his chief political advisor, Karl Rove.[2] Bush is also reported to call Rove by the nickname ”Boy Genius.“[3] Few, if any, native Texans would recognize this definition of 'turd blossom.' 'Turd blossom' was used in 1960s Texas high school slang to describe the spreading smell of a fart, or the spreading stain of a loose bowel movement. Neither Rove nor George W. Bush attended high school in Texas, and they may have been unfamiliar with the original use of the word. 'Fart blossom' was a common variant.[citation needed] In July 2005, several newspapers declined to run two Doonesbury strips portraying Bush addressing Rove by this nickname.[citation needed] [edit] References Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

Guthrie Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 This should settle the question of this thread. The day of this exchange is a red herring. Perle Five Days After 9/11: ‘We Do Know Saddam Hussein Has Ties To Osama Bin Laden’Conservatives appear to have correctly noted that George Tenet’s account of meeting Richard Perle at the White House the day after 9/11 was incorrect. Tenet has acknowledged the error, stating, “I may have gotten the days wrong, but I know I got the substance of that conversation correct.” Tenet says Perle told him, “Iraq has to pay a price for what happened yesterday. They bear responsibility.” The controversy over Tenet’s recollection has helped refresh the record about what Richard Perle was advocating in the days after 9/11. As ThinkProgress noted earlier today, Perle signed a letter addressed to President Bush on 9/20/01 that stated the following: [E]ven if evidence does not link Iraq directly to the attack, any strategy aiming at the eradication of terrorism and its sponsors must include a determined effort to remove Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq. ... buffycat Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 McGovern has a pretty good take on Tenet here: http://www.antiwar.com/mcgovern/?articleid=10893 Funny, how these feelings about Tenet seem to cross all the 'false' left right paradigms. WRT Perle, there aren't too many that are a nasty as he is. I don't think there is much difference of opinion on him from moderates on all sides of the fences either. Gotta sex up everything for the masses. But because they lied about the 'true goal', I cannot put much faith in the war on terror. and overall Iraq will be a thorn in the US's side for decades to come. Quote
