By all appearances, she looked around and realized what she'd been doing and for whom--and how hollow and unworthy the man is.

LOL, we already know folkd like you have TDS, when you start supporting MTG because she went against Trump, you only prove how much more crazy Trump has made you.

The Jewish space lasers were defeated?

I suspect that she was cut out of the grift.

Why do you think she resigned?

Why did she quit, all of a sudden? I am ok with it. I am just a little confused.

I am glad to see her go no matter the reason. Are you a supporter of her now? ROFL

MTG is an opportunist - always has been.  Her decision is strategic and likely based on intuition. She knew she would draw Trump's ire and has factored that in.   - quite likely she would have been reelected despite the ire she has generated. No way this woman is finished in politics. Post Trump is what she is looking at - although a Presidential run is laughable the Senate or Governor is not. Standby - she ain't done. One other thing Trump should consider and temper his remarks about her, the idiom, 'hell hath no fury as a woman scorned', comes to mind. She could burn him, his legacy and his family ........ and badly. Liz Cheney comes to mind.

MTGs departure, assuming she still has political ambitions, could theoretically split the conservative vote. The most hard-boiled portion of MAGA traces its roots back to the crowd that George Wallace split the so-called American left with decades and decades ago. After Wallace's defeat his followers then wandered the political landscape and followed the Thurmond Stroms, Ross Perots and Tea Partiers around until finally settling on MAGA and the Republicans.

Again in theory, if they follow MTG off the same cliff Wallace did they'll drag the Republicans with them.

There's a more underlying fundamental pendulum swinging back and forth now.

I don't think anyone follows her as such.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

They'll follow anyone perceived to be sticking it to the guvmint.

It won't take much given today's razor thin election results.

I said it before, I’ll say it again, extremists always turn on each other in the end. Why did she quit?  One or more of the following:

1) Finally realized her dreams of becoming a MAGA queen in Trump’s administration weren’t going to happen so she’s done with politics now that she can’t rise any higher

2) Trump’s people have dirt on her and forced her out.

3) Disillusioned with Republicans after so many turned on her over the Epstein controversy
