We sure have a productivity crisis.

Ever since we wanted our products cheaper and could not make them in Canada because our costs were too high...we got our stuff off shore and our factories and producers went broke.

So, now we do not produce.

This is not a political party issue...this is us..the regular Canadians that did not want to pay the price of Canadian produced products so, we bought cheaper stuff from off shore producers. We want cheap so, that is what we got. :)

That would be against the law.

But of course it wouldn't surprise me in the least that Canadian tax law allows the wealthiest Canadians to move lots of money out of Canada.

What do you think a zero corporate tax rate might do to address our productivity crisis, especially if you thought attracting investment to Canada was important?

Yep in fact that was Carney's entire job. That's literally what he did for a living was to arrange for that very circumstance. This is the guy you voted into power along with the rest of the NDP

Nope. You just have to know how to twist the law correctly.

Now the guy who used to find holes in the law is the guy who MAKES the law.... i'm sure he won't leave any back doors or anything ;)

Well it SHOULDN"T surprise you considering you put the guy who was a pro at it in power  :) LOLOLOL

At the end of the day if the wealthy feel they're paying too much tax, the money leaves. One way or another. Something you lefties have never gotten your heads around. which is why socalist countries tend to be poor.

That happened in the US too. Explain why their productivity has risen so much faster than ours. In fact, explain why Canada's is the lowest in the OECD.

Immigration was supposed to be a boon to our economy. It's been increasing since the late 70s. And yet somehow, our economy just keeps getting worse and worse. Liberal apologists will blame things like moving factories to Asia, and automation. But that happened everywhere. Why are things worse in Canada? Could it be the combination of sky-high immigration with an ever-burgeoning public sector that eats up more and more resources and requires higher and higher taxes while producing ever more restrictive regulations on business and industry/

For sure it did.

Threats by Trump to all countries. The bully always wins in the beginning plus...a population of consumers 10 times greater than in Canada.

Because we produce little or nothing at all.   We import because it is cheaper and that is what Canadians want.

Carney met with Justin Beber in Parliament last October.

Beber is the COO of...Brookfield Corporation. Carney claims that he met with Beber to....discuss rising anti-Semitism in Canada😒

https://www.hilltimes.com/story/2025/11/24/brookfield-executive-grilled-by-house-ethics-committee-on-carneys-ties-to-company-says-he-met-carney-in-october-on-the-hill-to-talk-about-rising-antisemitism-in-canada/483311/

What does meeting with a Brookfield executive(who apparently is not Jewish) have to do with the problem of rising anti-Semitism in Canada?

You believe Carney hasn't met with anyone from Brookfield since becoming PM. He clearly has, and the anti-Semitism excuse seems pretty weak to say the least.

I never once said the PM has not met with anyone from Brookfield. Fact is that Brookfield is one of the worlds largest asset management companies in the world and the PM dealing with world wide trade would have difficulty not meeting or having conversations with people form that company.

"In late 2025, testimony from the House of Commons ethics committee confirmed that senior executives from

Brookfield Asset Management—a firm where Prime Minister Mark Carney formerly held a senior leadership role—met with him in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa.
Here are the key details regarding the meetings and conflicts of interest based on the search results:
  • Meeting Confirmation: Justin Beber, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Brookfield Corporation, confirmed he travelled to Ottawa in October 2025 to meet with Prime Minister Carney.
  • Nature of the Meeting: Beber testified that the meeting was "on his own dime" and focused on concerns regarding the rise of antisemitism in Canada. He claimed the meeting did not involve discussion of Brookfield business interests.""

What "seems like" to you may not be correct.

"

There is no public information confirming the religious or ethnic background of
Justin B. Beber, the Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Corporation.
While he is a senior Canadian executive based in Toronto, his personal background regarding faith is not part of his public corporate profile"

What role does the COO of Brookfield have to do with the subject of anti-Semitism here in Canada? Has Carney met with any other corporate leaders in which he has no financial stake to 'discuss anti-Semitism'?

It reminds of Trudeau's Aga Khan scandal..just a family friend, no business involved.

Chuckle chuckle chuckle...

I guess you are insinuating that he lied under oath to the ethics commission?  LOL

Justin Beber is Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Corporation. In this role, he has primary oversight of Brookfield’s corporate operations, including corporate strategy, human resources, risk management, technology, legal, compliance, and internal audit activities. He is a member of Brookfield’s Executive Committee.

Give it up LOL.

So...seems Carney is not the only one invested in Brookfield?

Oh but i can :)

Carney was told not to meet with Brooksfield agents by ethics commissioner - Google Search

"The Advice to Avoid Meetings: According to reports, the Ethics Commissioner personally advised Carney that he should not be meeting with Brookfield representatives.

Contradictory Meetings: Despite this advice, records indicated that a senior Brookfield executive (Sam Pollock, CEO of Brookfield Infrastructure) met with Carney in Washington, D.C., in May 2025, and another executive (Justin Beber, COO of Brookfield) met with him in Ottawa in October 2025."

You missed the last part of your google search:

I was watching a documentary this morning on the forestry industry in BC by Aaron Gunn.

The entire industry has been decimated by over-regulation by the Liberal gov't.

I don't know why all the Liberal supporters here think the Liberals are pro-industry.  They are NOT.  They want an end to all industry in Canada.

They've nearly finished killing the oil & gas industry, the fishing industry, the forestry industry, the auto industry, they've stalled our critical minerals industry for over a decade now and I don't see any signs that they are going to change that.  Zero projects have been fast-tracked or even approved, despite 2 new bureaucracies set up, purportedly to do just that.  but hey, at least Carney's buddies got high-paying positions on the boards of those bureaucracies. (Did you know one of them is making over $1 million a year?  The rest making just under $1 million a year.)

So, with no industry in Canada, how do the liberal and NDP supporters think we are going to afford all the programs they are demanding - free housing, free food, unsustainable immigration of people who will never be self-sufficient.

Like, seriously - what is your plan for Canada?

Cricket factories?  Failed.  Millions $ lost.

Battery plants?  Failed.  Billions $ lost.

I find it extremely hypocritical for these same supporters to accuse everyone that doesn't vote Lib or NDP of being traitors to Canada.

They've even taken away any hope of being patriotic to Canada.  They've convinced everyone that we are nothing but a nation of murdering thieves, that we have no values (except Muslim values - apparently we are a Muslim country), that we have no core identity.

And now the Americans - our closest neighbour, trading partner and most culturally alike - they are our enemies.  We hate them.

We're hitching our wagon to the communist Chinese.

We've never had a more anti-Canada gov't in power.

It's very sad what they've done to Canadians.

Our country has gone downhill so badly, and in so many areas, that it cannot be explained by simple incompetence.

It has to be on purpose.

Why do Liberal supporters - supposedly the most patriotic people in the whole country - keep rewarding this?  Who are they patriotic to - the Liberal Party or the actual country of Canada?

I think the answer is clear.

They would rather see the country burn down, as long as their "team" is in power.

That is not Patriotism.

Seems to me, out here anyway, that it's only the further right fools like you that are the only ones crying about patriotism if doesn't align with your partisan views.

No, Canadian's don't hate the US.  They hate Trump.

How exactly have we done that?  Try a bit harder than allowing 50K affordable EV's into the country though.  That said, I'm sure you're a vocal proponent of a northern pipeline to see more oil to communist China, right...

So, Canada & Canadians are worse off and you support the gov't that did that.

As for accomplishments, Liberal supporters like you think of the destruction of industry in Canada, massive overspending and gov't waste are "accomplishments" so........
