Pride parade cancelled after being halted by pro-Palestinian protesters | CBC News

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL how's that right to protest working out for you guys? :Pย  ย

The Carney gov't isn't going to know who to side with here. They're about to be caught in a bit of a weird version of the culture war where two groups they really count on are going to go toe to toe a bit and both are known to hold grudges.ย

Ottawa's annual Pride parade was cancelled on Sunday after it was halted by aย local pro-Palestinian advocacy group that blocked the road and demanded to negotiate with organizers.

The group Queers for Palestine โ€” Ottawa (Q4P) halted the parade "with the permission" of the grand marshal,ย the organization said in a press release issued Sunday afternoon just as the parade was stopped.ย

"This is what a village looks like!" protesters chanted from Parliament Hill, referencing the "We are a village" theme that Capital Pride was using for 2025.

Q4P issued several demands for the organizers, Capital Pride, including that the group hold a "boycott, divestment and sanctions" hall and commit to anย ongoing cultural and academic boycott of Israel.

Sounds like they got over it pretty quick.

Despite the parade's cancellation, the festival on Bank Street is still slated to continue until 8 p.m.

Nice try to finger Carney with blsme though, shows the all too stubborn pattern of blaming Trudeau for the sock you lost in the wash.

You should be celebrating. Two groups you loathe cancelled each other out.

Can anyone explain what Israel has to do with a pride parade?ย  I question this because from what I understand, the LGBTQ community is treated a hell of a lot better in Israel than anywhere else in the Middle East. As for Carney and the Liberals there's a saying....ย  when you stand for everything it always ends up that you stand for nothing.

There's a kind of a crossover because being pro hamas and anti-jew is very much a left-wing position right now, and of course the lgbtq community sees themselves as being very left-wing.

Hamas of course is interested because the lgbtq community has a lot of political horsepower. And they're hoping if they can force the LGBTQ community (i'm just going to call them the lettered mafia, easier on my dictation software :)ย )ย  To support them then they will gain a lot of public influence.

It's socially unacceptable to speak out against the lettered Mafia generally speaking, so they're hoping to get them on board for the street cred so to speak.

I'm not sure you know how english works.ย

They had two events, one event was stopped by aย  violent radical terror group, the second event when on as planned.ย  That's not them 'getting over anything',, that's the muslims and gaza supporters only managing to destroy half the activities.ย

I hear the democrats showed up for work jan 7th, guess the got over January 6 pretty quick right? ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

That was my first thought too :)ย  If we can get all the special interest groups protesting EACH OTHER then maybe the rest of us can have a quiet life ;)ย ย

You are hallucinating again if you saw any violence. Now keep that up and tell us that as they cancelled the parade it proves how gays are antisemitic

This was utterly predictable. In fact, I did predict it a couple of days ago. The amusing part of this is that if it were conservatives trying to block a pride parade, the media would be up in arms and the LGBT people would have responded violently to force their way through. But this was a pro-muslim group and Muslims are higher on the victim hierarchy than gays. So they didn't dare say a word against them. They just humbly bowed their heads and agreed to disperse.

It shouldn't be a surprise that almost everyone involved in these pride things are on the Left. They have largely uniform social values and beliefs. Like the Muslims, the Left wants to tear down society in order to build something "better". They both oppose capitalism and hate Jews, America, and Western culture. So they are allies in their hopes of destabilizing and destroying Western countries.ย

The hilarious thing is the Left somehow believes that after that they'll be able to construct a new, more wonderful society, and the Muslims believe there'll be an Islamic state, so the Left - including all the LGBT people - can be stood up against a wall and shot.

No Eyeball, the light will never go ON for people who make statements like that. They thrive in the dark in the basement and under rocks.

LOL if you're talking about the same "light" you've got that'd be the one that says "not in service" :)ย ย

I would say a union similar to BLM and Antifa in the States. Which I thought was a mistake on BLM's part. I can always support a group standing up for their rights, but not if they're tied to another group that wants to bring down the U.S. government for example. The LGBTQ community might be better offย  keeping their distance from Q4P, because that's where things get far more complicated and all of a sudden it's not all about rights any more. Just my opinion.

Why would Carney or anyone have to 'manage' this. This is just a small molehill for you to desperately try to take a mountain over. Better go change your pants now.

People don't have to physically attack people to be considered violent. Just the threat of violence makes you violent.

And FYI: specifically blocking someone's path is violent.

That's not to say that you can get them convicted of aggravated assault for doing it, but they are still being violent while they are specifically blocking someone else's path.

Don't forget that you people (I'm not saying "you people" in a derogatory way, I just mean "all of you worthless left4rd pieces of shit") consider "microaggressions" to be acts of violence, and your version of microaggressions are mainly imaginary drivel.

When someone gets in front of you and says that you are not allowed to pass, that is way beyond what's considered a microaggression. It's one of the oldest, purest and most consequential forms of aggression there is, and it has been the sole cause of tens of thousands of wars.

So, yeah, a violent group.ย
