betsy Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM (edited) Kindly read the link before you respond. Should we? China says it wants to partner with Canada to push back against American ’bullying’ https://financialpost.com/news/china-wants-to-partner-with-canada I'm wondering how Carney will respond to this. Your thoughts? Edited Wednesday at 11:46 AM by betsy Quote

ExFlyer Posted Wednesday at 12:21 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 12:21 PM Well, it is a matter of what we want to pay. We, Canadians, decided we did not want to pay for our needs so, the companies that were making them in Canada went elsewhere to get them manufactured cheaper. We liked and like that. Are we, Canadians, OK with paying a lot more for products made in Canada??? I think not. We complain about costs and how much it is to live today. Imagine if we double or triple or more the cost of our day to day needs. Let us not fool ourselves, if we want the cost of living to remain the same, then we have no choice but to get into bed with China, Vietnam, India or any other country that makes thing far cheaper than we can make them ourselves. Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Something to be said about a division of labour. Canada should focus on what it can make at a competitive price. I think Dave Chappelle did a good skit on this: Quote
Radiorum Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM I'm so perturbed by the betrayal of the US maybe I am not thinking straight. If China wants to do fair trade with us, I'm in. 1 1 Quote
eyeball Posted yesterday at 01:58 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:58 AM I'm in if increased trade can be used to leverage China into improving its regard for human rights. Otherwise we should reduce trade and cultivate relations with better more advanced partners. 1 Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Typical leftist remark...we can't even treat ourselves with respect in regards to human rights....see indigenous people for one, the list goes on and on....and now you want to force something we can not do, on the chinese, you guys make me laugh and talk from both sides of your face. ....Just becasue we trade with China does not mean they give a rats a$$ about our nation, it is a business transaction....don't you remember the two Michaels....if anything we should be moving away from china, moving our manufacturing to another country like india....oh wait Canada screwed that relationship up as well.... 1 Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.
Moonlight Graham Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM Report Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM Do everything to undermine China and their economy. They're a far bigger enemy than the US. 1 Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.

Typical right wing bullshit, you can't treat any issue at all without getting it out there that whatever it is lefties are guilty of everything. Fùck off. Conservatives constantly stand in the path of reconciliation with First Nations. If Canada needs sanctions against it for human rights abuses then bring them on it STFU. 1 hour ago, Army Guy said: Just becasue we trade with China does not mean they give a rats a$$ about our nation, it is a business transaction....don't you remember the two Michaels....if anything we should be moving away from china, moving our manufacturing to another country like india....oh wait Canada screwed that relationship up as well.... You know full well I've said no truck nor trade with China or any other nation that drags its ass on cleaning up its human rights act for as long as you've known me. Don't you remember? NO TRUCK NOR TRADE! I've only said so a thousand times. Did you think I was just lying to you? That doesn't ring a bell, at all? It's just a lie? 1 Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
betsy Posted 23 hours ago Author Report Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Seeing the response to pro-China alliance.................please............do we really think it'll stop there? That in the end, China won't hold the power? It'll boil down to this: Lol - either you prefer to be China's "western Hong Kong".........or, you want to be the 51st State. You make the choice so easy for many. Edited 23 hours ago by betsy 1 Quote
betsy Posted 23 hours ago Author Report Posted 23 hours ago (edited) You think, if Trump sees us going to bed with China - he won't take Canada? I bet, he'll fast-track it even more. He might be doing just that......starting with his first meeting with PM Carney. We live in such interesting times. I'm so curious as to where this will lead. How it will be for us.
