This Canadian journalist does not paint a good picture of our CBSA or RCMP, accusing them or being corrupt, and incompetent, How other countries no longer truct canada with shared intelligence, how they leave canada out of the loop because of this corruption. Thats a huge accusation and if it is true, it could explain a lot, it could be why trump is bringing this matter up in tariffs fight, Is our border security really thios bad and how far up the chain of command does this go....RCMP have reported that high ranking organized crime figures have been in the same area as the PM, and that they have dumped money into the liberals campaign fund....

From the article...

The police expert, explaining the decision to come forward at a pivotal moment in U.S.-Canada relations, argued that Canadians remain largely unaware of the nation's vulnerabilities.

Probably because it's none of our business to know.

In the meantime don't forget this criticism is coming from a country, the most powerful on the planet, that's even more useless at stopping drugs from flowing across their borders.

As for being helpful towards cartels how is it that cartels can get their hands on American military grade weapons like grenade launchers and grenades?

Are we supposed to believe Americans have a better handle on corruption than Canada? Seems to me ordinary Americans are as unaware of their nation's vulnerabilities as Canadians for the same reason.

Oh the whiney traitors rushing to repeat the bullshit spewed by Trumpalos.

1/5 of a percent compared to the Mexican border and we're the Narco country.
If they can make it in Mexico and we know they can make it here, then they must be making a hell of a lot right there inside the USA.

The whiny traitors never mention 10x more fentanyl enters Canada through the U.S. border than exits it.

And they also never mention the guns.

Which reinforces the fact our border security sucks, at least according to CBSA, RCMP that have stated they can only check 1% of all containers and trucks....Guns also our problem lack of resources and the lack of will to fix it...mention it though and your branded thats how the left works, unless your spewing their message...which is we are to cheap and lazy to fix what is broken...we will pass that on to the next government , or the grown ups....

Nothing worse than lazy, corrupt, lairs, dishonest,  liberals...that pretend they are our nations gatekeepers, but are nothing more beggars in the streets wanting their piece of the pie before the liberals get chuck out...while hard working Conservatives keep this country held together with gun tape and 550 cord........

The Americans are concerned their deaths have almost reached 100,000 per year, and Canada is responsible for 1 % of that number...are we a narco state i don't think anyone is saying that but then again it is a liberal tactic to lie...

What you are doing is down playing a serious problem here in Canada. that has killed almost 50,000 and put 50,000 more in hospital....since 2016....22 Canadians die each and every day....and you and liberals are saying nothing to see here...

According to RCMP the cartels are setting up shop here, the super lab in bc is proof of that....as our northern borders are easier to cross than the mexican one....CBSA says they can only check 1 % of all trucks and containers coming into Canada making it all to easy to send anything through the border and not get caught....but we are either to cheap or lazy, or our safety is not a big concern to the left....

I guess the Americans will find it easy to recruit Canadians to process lefties with pliers and blow torches before they're disappeared.

Oh f*ck they finally noticed.... we should shit our pants and hop when they snap their fingers to solve their problems for us.
Just like the MAGAs you're lying on what direction the problem drugs, guns and refugees are going. It ain't f*cking south.

The cartels are setting up shop in every country they can, eg the EU and other democracies. They probably don’t do so well in North Korea or Saudi Arabia but do you want our country to look like that? BTW you wouldn’t think Dubai has much of a connection to the drug trade, although its oppressed foreign workforce use mild opioid painkillers for the many injuries suffered on the job and are severely punished if caught, but it plays a boutique role as a safe haven for drug kingpins. Oh yes, some of Europe’s most notorious cartel chiefs have lived there for years.

Trump’s barking will solve nothing. He’s got a far bigger problem in his own country with both demand and supply. We’re a sideshow but he won’t admit that.

No we just want you to go lay down someplace out of the way like you've been doing for the 8 plus years, we'll wake you up for the next election...

Well i guess the RCMP and CBSA are filled with MAGA's then as they are the ones telling you there is a problem...that super lab bust in BC is a good example of the problem, you keep you head stuck up justins a$$ and ignore what is happening in your backyard...

Really, are you suggesting we have to live like this because everyone has the same problem...You mean like canada is a safe haven for terrorist...

like or or not we are tied to this issue, Trump does not care what size we play, he is concerned that we are in the game ....and he wants us to do what ever it is we can to help reduce that even further....not sure why this is the hill Canadians want to die on....why not just solve the problem, and have tariffs taken away for good....

You need to make it your business, lefty. I do not doubt that the some organized crime syndicate is supporting the dictator in Ottawa. The dictator likes to let criminals off the hook if he can.

Trump is doing a fantastic job of shutting down the Mexican border and stopping illegal immigration and fentanyl entering into America. Did your dear leader in Ottawa ever try to do the same thing in Canada? NOPE. He let it happen.

The cartels are in America and are being able to get their hands on military weapons. I am pretty sure that Trump will put an end to that nonsense very soon. Trump has to because the cartels want him dead. Their are losing billions of dollars because Trump closed the border.

The deep state corruption in America is coming to an end with Trump as President. The deep state in Canada will never come to an end as long as the dictator in Ottawa is the leader in this country. And Carney will make no difference. Carney is just another deep state liberal who works for the WEF bankster globalists. At least with PP, he has said that he will have nothing to do with the WEF globalists. I hope that he really means that. 😇

I'd love to but there's too many lickspittles and toadying partisans always getting in the way.

I've even introduced motions at public meetings and voted against going in-camera on occassion.

There was this time when going in-camera made perfect sense. It definitely has its place. It was when someone tried to allege they'd seen a public employee drunk, a committee member wanted to back up the allegation and discuss it at a public meeting but the CAO immediately stepped in and the whole thing was taken in-camera.

Into the USA 0.2% from Canada. Over 100 times as much coming into Canada from the USA. Neither the RCMP nor the CBSA claim the problem is southbound, you're lying to claim otherwise. As usual per your posts as fraudulently backwards as quoting the opinion of an Alabama police chief on cannabis was in 1966.

Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and notice it's 2025 and the Yanks are still selling us their bullshit.

I’m not going to dance to some foreign sociopath’s made-up tune about us. Let’s be real here and see the world as it is. People are going to take potentially lethal drugs. We can’t ‘solve’ this problem the way that simpleton claims he thinks we can.

Nobody likes dancing, but when we as a nation have sat around forever on our fat asses and done almost nothing then i think we deserve that kick in the ass...and you pissed at the message or the way it was delivered ?....

So we do what...give up , tell CBSA they're done have an open border...drugs and gangs are the winners....50,000 Canadians have died to fentanyl alone since 2016, when is it we take action at 100k 200K what is the magic number ? you've given up before the war even started...more interested in a war with the biggest guy in the room...because of the message and how it was delivered...makes sense to me....

45000 Canadians die every year from smoking. How much do you want to bet the cost to society and the economy to accommodate these addicts dwarfs that of fentanyl?

Jesus, proclaiming we haven't 'taken action' on fentanyl after loudly complaining aginst every action taken for years and returning to law enforcement as the solution!'

FFS removing laws on users and concentrating on makers, importers and distributors is what we were supposed to be doing. But pretending we haven't when they busted many including the biggest labs ever and sucking up to Trump's BS has gotta be a new low.
Step up what we can do, for our sake. not for the USA.

Further restrict and record sales and import of precursor chemicals for a start.

well we seen what giving free drugs do to solve this issue...so ya why not law enforcement it is after all one of the items they deal with ...only this time we make sure they are funded properly to do the jog...Tie all that up with more funding with our border security and we should be able to thin our drugs getting into the country...
