Poilievre is an expert in singling out the failures of the Trudeau government and Liberals.  He is focused and keeps hammering them as strongly as possible.

He is doing an excellent job.  The Conservatives are now so far ahead in the polls it is amazing.  Nobody would have believed this would be possible a few years ago.

We will see. Lots of parallels between the American Democrats, Canadian Liberals and the German Nazi party. Probably because that ideology has infiltrated the major political parties and has gradually been implementing tyrannical measures since at least 2008.

Trudeau's whole approach was never designed for bumpy times.

Trudeau's whole approach has been to spend, spend, spend and run up massive debt.  He spent massive amounts of money on everything he could think of that might buy some votes.  He hasn't changed his attitude about that.  That is why he and Christia Freeland parted ways.  She just believed his latest spending sprees were merely gimmicks and could see the writing on the wall that it wasn't going to help the Liberals.  He couldn't see that.   His time is up, but it may take until next October to get him out.

Canada is a large and complicated place on this planet.

Many people live here; we get along.

Who wouldn't have believed this?

This is how most Canadian governments end...

No. This isn't how most canadian governments end. Most Canadian governments end with mild dissatisfaction and a new party taking over. This is something entirely different.

We'll have to see how it plays out but the only time we've seen something like this was when Mulroney stepped down and Kim Campbell took over.

And even then i don't know if we've ever seen anything quite like this.  Even going into that election kim was still polling decently. There has never been this kind of public push to have an early election or so much hatred for the incumbent party ever in our history.  I don't ever recall hearing of a time when a majority of Canadians were polling that they wanted an early election.  And that's in the middle of xmas!  Only 9 months away from a scheduled one!

Sorry mike, but this is new.

Trudeau will resign in February. Book it.

Well - almost certainly he'll make a statement before then and either way he'll likely prorogue parliament but it's about 80 percent certain he'll be leaving.... but what is less clear is will he actually step down and try to squeeze in an emergency leadership race? With 7 months to the next election start?  Normally it takes longer than that just to have the race, then that person needs time to get ready for the election which usually takes  longer than 7 months as well. OR will he just go to an election and see if he can get lucky and find some way to salvage things?

That's the question, resign or run himself? I think right now the party is trying to decide if there's a sacrificial lamb they can throw in to the leadership after a very very very short race for appearances who might do better? LIke if Freeland were to be the 'agreed' candidate and they held a sham of a leadership race and elected her and she tried to run on sympathy and 'courage' points, knowing after the election she'd almost certainly be set aside and a real race would be held.

But if nobody's willing to do that, then stepping down will probably do the party far more harm than good. Nobody's going to want the job when they know it's a straight up loss almost guaranteed, and that they'll be pushed aside for someone else. So they'll wind up with a crap candidate and could kim campbell the party. In such a case theyd' be wise to say that he should go to an election and let the people decide.
