From Wikipedia : Uncle Tom is the title character of Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 novel Uncle Tom's Cabin.[1] The character was seen by many readers as a ground-breaking humanistic portrayal of a slave, one who uses nonresistance and gives his life to protect others who have escaped from slavery.

That's NOT the modern meaning of Uncle Tom. Very few Uncle Tom's give their life for anyone.

The modern meaning is a black man who sells out members of his race for personal advantage.

see: Clarence Thomas & Tim Scott.

Yes, somewhere along the line, the original meaning has been totally perverted and today it's use is especially nasty. That is the intent when anyone uses that term against a black person.

The Democrats still feel that they should rightfully OWN the black vote. And to an extent, they kind of do own the black vote.  Blacks don't really seem to be able to point to exactly how they are better off because of Democrats. More single black mothers? Fewer fathers in black homes? What's good about that?

What's truly shameful is how conservative blacks get treated by other blacks. No debate, no meaningful dialogue, just the usual Uncle Tom-sellout type of insult.

Really? How many blacks have YOU queried about their support for Democrats?

Seems to me you're just implying they are stupid to support Democrats, like you know better about their interests than they do.

And further you're implying that ANY poor state of black families is the result of Democratic policies and suggesting Republicans would be better, WITH NO EVIDENCE nor REASON.

IOW, you're just posting typical ignorant conservative stereotypes.

You literally just used the Uncle Tom insult against Tim Scott and Clarence Thomas and you have the gall to accuse me of implying blacks are stupid to support Democrats?

If anyone is clearly racist towards blacks, it's white liberals.

How demeaning is this prominent white liberal?

Selling out their race has nothing to do with "stupid to support Democrats."

However your post, as explained, does imply blacks are stupid to support Democrats with FALSE ASSUMPTIONS.

You need to google "Trump Central Park Five". Of course Trump pretended to be a liberal back then.

Are you even aware that Trump was charged with illegal racial discrimination in his property rentals?

Did Donald Trump ever apologize to the 'Central Park Five'?

Claim: Donald Trump "never said sorry for calling for my execution" as a member of the "Central Park Five."

Hi Betsy, I don't know about any "Uncle Toms" but my top white hating racists are:

1. Alvin Bragg

2. Letitia James

3. Fani Willis

4. That big mouth ldiot on ESPN

I remember that case from way back. I recall there was a lot of outrage at the time against the suspects. Not because of race, but because of the brutality of the crime but as usual, it ended being all about race.

Did you know that one of the accused in that case is now a city councilor in New York?

https://anncoulter.com/2023/11/15/central-park-rape-the-secret-files1/

Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana and Antron McCray.

Here’s just some of the evidence against The Five:

— When Santana was being driven to the precinct house for general mayhem, he blurted out: “I had nothing to do with the rape. All I did was feel the woman’s tits.”

At this point, the jogger’s body hadn’t been found yet. The police knew nothing about any rape.

— Another boy, picked up with Richardson, told the police that he knew who did “the murder,” naming McCray. Richardson concurred, saying, “Yeah. That’s who did it.”

Again, the police were unaware of any rape or murder.

The next morning, Richardson pointed to the 102nd Street transverse, telling officers, “This is where we got her.”

— Dennis Commedo, part of the larger group wilding that night, told the police that, when he ran into Richardson, he had said, “We just raped somebody.”

— Two of Wise’s friends said that the next day, he told them, “You heard about that woman that was beat up and raped in the park last night? That was us!”

— Another boy arrested for some of the other attacks, but not the rape, told detectives (on videotape) that he overheard Santana and a friend laughing about how they’d “made a woman bleed.”

— A number of the youths brought in the night of the attack implicated Salaam (our newly elected councilman) in the jogger’s rape.

Orlando Escobar, for example, told police he saw Salaam (our newly elected councilman) and others leaving the 102nd Street transverse where the jogger was raped.

— Blood stains were found on Salaam’s jacket. (He’s our newly elected councilman.)

— Salaam (our newly elected councilman) confessed to the rape after the detective questioning him said that fingerprints had been found on the jogger’s clothing. Why would he do that — unless he knew the prints might be his?

Four of The Five gave videotaped confessions, at least three of them in the presence of parents or guardians. Defense attorneys spent weeks attacking the confessions as “coerced,” but two multicultural juries and the trial judge concluded that the confessions were voluntary. Taking the other side is some bimbo with a Netflix documentary, on the basis of no evidence whatsoever.

Moreover, recall that when The Five confessed, no one knew whether the jogger would emerge from her coma and be able to identify her attackers.

That's true. The modern meaning is "democrats are racist pigs but don't want to come right out and say it if they can avoid it"

And you believe Ann Coulter has ANY credibility left after all the LIES she's told about Democrats?

I remember perusing one of her books my Dad had. Something about 56 murders Bill Clinton had committed.

No evidence, of course. LMAO

BTW, the CP5 were EXONERATED by DNA evidence, but that didn't stop Trump's calling for their EXECUTION.

When did perverting the original meaning of a word become an issue? Have you seen what's been done to the term woke?

And don't get me started on the word lefty or conservative - especially as it relates to the environment I doubt even conservatives know what the term conserve means anymore.

Have you ever looked up the original political meaning of the terms right and left? The first definitions were assigned during the French Revolution. They bear little if any semblance to how they're used today. It's unfortunate because we probably have really good reason to.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

It's a bit sketchy how it's worded on Wikipedia. From the Armstrong report : The report concluded that the five men whose convictions had been vacated had "most likely" participated in the beating and rape of the jogger and that the "most likely scenario" was that "both the defendants and Reyes assaulted her, perhaps successively."[98] The report said Reyes had most likely "either joined in the attack as it was ending or waited until the defendants had moved on to their next victims before descending upon her himself, raping her and inflicting upon her the brutal injuries that almost caused her death."[98]

What compelled those guys to make incriminating statements BEFORE interrogation and even later confess?

Now they're all heroes in  your eyes.

Brutal interrogation by the cops which was NOT recorded. Wiki is NOT the most reliable source. Can be edited by ANYONE.

Trump won't apologize to exonerated Central Park Five, maintains their guilt

Quote

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday stood by claims he made about five men who were wrongly convicted for the brutal rape of a female jogger in New York City's Central Park 30 years ago.

Dubbed the "Central Park Five," the men have faced renewed attention after becoming the subjects of a Netflix miniseries about them.

The five black and Hispanic men were teenagers when they were convicted. They said their confessions were coerced.

Their convictions were vacated in 2002 after evidence linked a serial rapist to the crime. Another man confessed to the crime and DNA tests confirmed his guilt.

Selling out their race?

Dweebles...that's about the most purely racist comment I've read in quite a while.

But hey...you fool nobody. Democrats live for keeping the "darkies" in the ghettos they created for them. It's just their "thing".
