In this case they are protecting hardened criminals. This issue can be resolved. Sent a huge military force to Mexico and introduce any and all cartel members to their maker. No questions...no mercy. Simultaneously, send the FBI and local law enforcement to war within America on cartel inside the nation. Again...no mercy. Finally...give border and ICE officials orders to shoot to kill at the first sign of resistance by those illegals crossing or caught. No Mercy...that's how one handles these b@stards with finality. Perhaps a sustained campaign will impact their operations enough to cause a constant state of disarray during leadership changes... A bunch of dead drug cartel leaders certainly isn't a bad thing.
